If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Wow@YW2 - going straight for the 2 million like its nothing.

Not as good a start for Shallie as Escha and Logy had. Hopefully it will show some legs.

The amazing performance of YW2 continues, especially for the volume of copies moved, however it doesn't really move a large amount of 3DSs.

Also I think if we ever needed more evidence that the old Wii/DS casual audience has entirely left to mobile, that Wii Sports Club performance has got to be up there with the Brain Age 3DS debut in the US.

MK8 stabilizing. Should help stabilize WiiU too. But should be at least 14k every week instead of 8k! Nintendo should have released the MK8 bundle in Japan.

Oreshika did pretty well at almost 100k, but that PS4... damn Japan.. Same thing every MC thread. Get some damn Japanese games on the system Sony!

This 8k ballpark for Wii U is fairly shitty, but is a lot better than the 4k ballpark it bottomed out at last year for a while. We'll see what Hyrule Warriors does.

Also I think if we ever needed confirmation that the old Wii/DS casual audience has entirely left to mobile, that Wii Sports Club performance has got to be up there with the Brain Age 3DS debut in the US.

The performance is bad, but the digital availability for several months now (even if not the same/complete package) definitely reduced the potential I'm sure.

SCEJ put a LOT of pressure on this game to do well for JRPG sake. I am sure that it did over 100K with digital, but I wonder if its enough for Sony.

I sure hope so.

Pretty good hold for Youkai Watch 2, it's so gonna reach 2m within the first months. Really insane. It's gonna double the sales of the 1st games within the first 2 months.

At this rate, 3m this year is definitely possible, with the holidays and all.

Oy vey, I was expecting a lot better than that for Oreshika.

I could be wrong, but I think this was the first one:

[PS1] Ore no Shikabane wo Koete Yuke ( SCE ) { 1999-06-17 } - 34,919 / 137,559
[PSP] Ore no Shikabane wo Koete Yuke ( SCE ) { 2011-11-10 } - 88,694 / 134,532

Also I think if we ever needed confirmation that the old Wii/DS casual audience has entirely left to mobile, that Wii Sports Club performance has got to be up there with the Brain Age 3DS debut in the US.

You know, I just realized that it had a worse first week than The Wonderful 101.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Ehh...i dont think you can make that case with a title like Wii Sports Club, the whole release strategy has been weird on this one....same with Wii Fit U. Not too mention that its a game that requires controllers not included in the regular WiiU and offers not much more than 8 year old original. But in general, you are right the WiiSports casual userbase that made the Wii big isnt there anymore, because the next big thing hasnt been delivered by Nintendo when it comes to software/hardware.

Games like Wii Party U...while bundled sold already much better on WiiU.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.

Absolutely, though I would argue Nintendo botched the the Wii Fit/Wii Sports franchise to an incredible degree this generation. Dripping out releases digitally never struck me as a great idea.

Congrats again to Level 5. :D

Perhaps those games shouldn't have been made for retail at all...

This 8k ballpark for Wii U is fairly shitty, but is a lot better than the 4k ballpark it bottomed out at last year for a while. We'll see what Hyrule Warriors does.

The performance is bad, but the digital availability for several months now (even if not the same/complete package) definitely reduced the potential I'm sure.

It does have a weird release schedule, but I feel this is still incredibly low.

NSMB Luigi was also digital first, wasn't it?

As for Wii Party, I feel that actually hits more on target with their historical audience given the success of Mario Party.

20./00. [WIU] Wii Sports Club <SPT> (Nintendo) {2014.07.17} (¥3.996) - 2.898 / NEW

I used to love the original Wii Sports but i see no reason to play it again....

...and everytime i get free Wii Sports Club trials it seems the motion controls are worst than the original

Digital sales! Believe!

There's not much else for Nintendo to capture the audience on current devices, though. At best they're just trying to "complete" the library on Wii U.

Why did they postpone the launch of the PS4 to februari? I mean they atleast would have gotten a holiday salesboost. I understand they didn't have any Japanese oriented software ready, but it isn't that they are releasing betters things right now.

In Japan I could say that's a fair assumption. Kids still do play games (I mean, look at YW2 sales!), but Brain Age/Wii Fit audience is.. at least not buying WiiU, in Japan.

Cause the rest of the world would buy the PS4s that Japan wouldn't.

Yokai Watch 2 beasting like no man's business. Crazy to think there's even supply issues with those second week figures. A real phenomenon - definitely greater than Layton/Inazuma at their respective peaks.

19./22. [PSV] Persona 4: Golden <RPG> (Atlus) {2012.06.14} (¥7.329) - 2.929 / 304.785

Dat Anime effect. 400k+ retail + digital is definitely a strong possibility now.

Also, Oreshika did very well. Though I wonder how much the negative reviews would hurt it in the long run - then again it'd have had a big second week drop regardless, so good performance, really.
