Production costs is actually the issue. The more they sell the faster they will make money.artwalknoon said:So the more they sell the more money they lose?
Nintendo better hope those production costs go down soon.

MHP3 "stopped" selling because it's running out of potential buyers. The franchise doesn't have an unlimited fanbase.BladeoftheImmortal said:Well, one doesn't have an HD Re-release announced. I'm sure once Gray gets an announcement Pokemon B/W will be just as dead as MHP3.

"It's going better than we thought," a Bic Camera spokesperson told the paper. "There's definitely been a response."

With so many sub-40K weeks, these two have little chance of getting anywhere.BurntPork said:I think it'll stabilize at around 40k a week. If it doesn't, then it's in critical condition and is unlikely to ever recover.

Probably because that the software offering isnt THAT good, so there could be less reason to buy a 3DS even if it had such a big pricedrop.TheNatural said:Not sure why people doubt that the price drop would make a big splash, I don't recall a time when a next-gen device has been dropped to the level of a legacy model, ever. Pokemon doesn't seem to have a very strong start.
Only if the PSP sales takes a noticeably hit in sales i think. But if the PSP contunie to sell aproximately what it is doing, then i dont think that Sony has any rush to drop the PSP price just yet.BadWolf said:I know Sony doesn't need to for now becuase its selling quite well, but do you guys think there is any chance Sony will drop the price on the PSP to crap on Nintendo's parade?

I think another reason is that 3DS as a hardware doesn't offer much, I mean they could have increased the camera resolution, made more apps and services such as a youtube player, added chat support, etc. I really liked the upgrade from DS lite to DSi (not that I actually had a DS lite, but I played with extra function of DSi specially camera, flipnote, and browser a lot, and thought it was really worth of what I paid more for it)test_account said:Probably because that the software offering isnt THAT good, so there could be less reason to buy a 3DS even if it had such a big pricedrop.

To those who don't remember, Dengeki estimated ~190k first week shipments and it has sold-through only 114k after 3 weeks with no signs it'll have any legs at all.Mpl90 said:Sengoku Basara: Chronicle Heroes

A different situation from Kirby Mass Attack, which even with only a 30% sell-through in the first week will probably go past the initial shipment. "Epic Yarn" has almost doubled the first week shipment of 240k and had a low sell-through too -- 40%.
