Wii U not that far from 3x PS4. This is madness (and a battle between two platforms sucking sales wise in the territory).

To be fair to SK2, it is priced 1000yen more than the previous 3DS games. Still sold well enough IMO. Could reach near 100k region at some point.

Openings for the series:

SK: 53,951
SKB: 70,569 [Expansion]
SKV: 91,639 [Vita spinoff]
SK2: 47,325

that doesn't seem too bad. from the comments I'm seeing in here it would seem that series aligns more with the Vita's audience so it makes sense it did a little better on that platform. thanks for the numbers!

It was on last year, when Versus came out.
It was like 13 episodes.

Eh, I fear that explains the bigger result for the Vita title, but also (even if not completely) Senran Kagura 2's disappointing debut compared to the other 3DS titles.

Did Japan run out of PSPs? I know that Sony ended manufaction, but I can't believe they don't have hardware for sale anymore. It should still be 1k-2k.

The Wii U outsold the PS3 and PS4 combined. Even considering all the circumstances and the situation with Japan (and that nothing is really selling very well hardware wise), that's still mental.

Mario Kart 8 is having really strong legs, not long ago some were wondering if it was going to catch Mario Kart: Double Dash!! or Mario Kart: Super Circuit. There is no doubt it will easily cross the million mark by the end of the year.

Unless Sakurai were involved in the development, it shouldn't.

SK2 :(
Still think it will go to 100k in the end. Shame it didn't do better, gameplay is way better than Burst and Versus
as well as some other features
, even if japanese gamers complain about its difficulty (other games were way too easy/broken).

I don't think it would have done a lot better on Vita as well, apart from 10k otakus needing more of the usual stuff. SK has a small fanbase, east and west.

Nice bumps for WiiU and some other things as well.

SK2 flopped, there'll probably be one more game on the Vita to decide the fate of the series whether it should be shelved or not.

Lost Dimension is more than a flop, it's ascended past regular flop status.

Wii U bump is because anticipation for Hyrule Warriors ?

It's probably more because (IIRC) now it's Holiday time for children in Japan, and it was the week before Obon (which is this week. It's possible Hyrule Warriors's anticipation could have helped, but I think its contribute wasn't that much, in the end.

Regarding SK, that game's audience just seems to be on the Vita much more than on the 3DS. I know that Shinovi had the anime to help boost sales, but the game itself fits the Vita's fanbase much more (no offense to Vita owners). We'll see how that 3rd SK game does if it's released on Vita (we don't know much about it yet, right?)

If I'm not mistaken, these numbers would not capture sales of used PSPs, and those are cheap now.

Didn't the Wii U have a small bump last week too? Is this because of MK legs?

Went from abysmal to slightly less abysmal will the sales make it to horrible territory?! Lol

Not bad at all.

Surprised by the (small) Wii U bump, 3DS still trucking along and decent numbers for Vita.
PS4 is doing pretty bad but sales will improve when more titles are released next year, at least I hope. Next week numbers will be interesting!
