I see no lies here.

The game never released on PS4 before, just like Switch. It's as much "new" on both platform. Otherwise, it's just a port of a PS3/Wii U port of a 3DS game that wasn't very good anyway.

What are you talking about, this game came out on PS4 long time ago...all this "new" one is a deluxe edition.

Splatoon passes a million before Zelda?! I love Japan.

Very low sell-through percentage for Monster Hunter Double Cross: Nintendo Switch Ver.

Also, I don't know why Bandai Namco bothered to re-release once again One Piece: Unlimited World Red - Deluxe Edition, the original game already had a poor reception. At that time the ports espcially for PlayStation 3 made sense for the Western markets, but now?

Jesus insane how Splatoon is like super big in Japan. Splatoon 1 already was but 2 takes it to another level. Wich is cool especially for a shooter like game.

Wonder what the final 2017 Splatoon 2 sales will be, i am sure it will surpass that Splatoon 1 2015 number by quite alot easily.

Another great week for Nintendo Switch. It is hard to believe that it will keep like that next week.

Monster Hunter XX for Switch numbers are kind of expected :

Code:
01./00. [NSW] Monster Hunter Double Cross: Nintendo Switch Ver. # <ACT> (Capcom) {2017.08.25} (¥5.800) - 84.277 / NEW (Media Create)

01./00. [NSW] Monster Hunter Double Cross: Nintendo Switch Ver. # <ACT> (Capcom) {2017.08.25} (¥5.800) - 94.973 / NEW <40-60%> (Famistsu)

I wonder if it will manage to reach 150k LTD and now I even more curious to see what Capcom expectations is.

And this :

14./00. [NSW] One Piece: Unlimited World Red - Deluxe Edition <ADV> (Bandai Namco Games) {2017.08.24} (¥4.800) - 3.766 / NEW <20-40%>

28./00. [PS4] One Piece: Unlimited World Red - Deluxe Edition <ADV> (Bandai Namco Games) {2017.08.24} (¥4.800) - 2.114 / NEW <20-40%>

Switch third party is saved ! But, horrible numbers for both. But kind of expected since is a late port.

I can see mhs severely bombing in the west. Whoever chose this over mhxx to localize must be high.

Nintendo wanted it, presumably because Capcom had no plans to do it themselves after the anime flopped. I can't imagine a situation where Nintendo didn't think that Capcom wouldn't need the help on localizing XX since so much of it is already done as it is, but then that's what everyone else thought.

Who said anything about "mostly sales from a new audience"? Only the most hardcore players. double dip again for the same game 6 months later.... Assuming they even own a Switch.

Most people interested in this game already bought and played it on 3DS. A relatively small portion of that audience is willing to double dip again.

I agree.
What I was saying is that hardcore part of a potential audience got automatically smaller once a bigger/newer game was announced for another platform. If it had been there at launch, there would have been those 80k, as well as bigger legs than the game will have now, due to the lack of announcement and perceived potential of the platform.

I think we're both agreeing there, just a glass half-empty/full kind of thing...

edit: wow late reply I guess, didn't notice the thread moving that much.

They scrambled to getting something/anything out on Switch and figured they may as well do PS4/PC whilst they're at it?

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

         Nintendo 3DS PlayStation 4

Week 2 (-77%) (-82%)
Week 3 (-55%) (-57%)
Week 4 (-20%) (-15%)
Week 5 (-67%) (-64%)

The Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest XI is practically having the exact same weekly percentage drops as the PlayStation 4 version, there is an overall 5 percent difference just because of the second week sales. Originally I would have expected the Nintendo 3DS version to show better legs, especially during the last 2 - 3 weeks.

Yep, DQXI is dropping faster than I thought. Maybe it stays longer in the 5 digits than the PS4 version but 2 million is getting more difficult each day passed and 2.5 million seems like a utopia.

Any news regarding Ace Attorney 2 reaching the bomba bins? That sell-through is not nice (neither is the one for MHXXHD but I think it still could sell it).

Splatoon 2 outsells Final Fantasy XV.

Breath of the Wild on Switch outsold Link's Awakening a few weeks back, it'll outsell Twilight Princess on Wii within the next couple of weeks.

Nier Automata ends, for the time being, at 405k, it'll likely be above 420k by the end of the year, we might not get an update on it until January.

Wonder what the final 2017 Splatoon 2 sales will be, i am sure it will surpass that Splatoon 1 2015 number by quite alot easily.

Holiday 2015:
Splatoon - 35.256
Wii U - 32.604

Splatoon - 51.138
Wii U - 47.890

Splatoon - 86.332
Wii U - 79.266

Splatoon - 94.874
Wii U - 92.801

Splatoon - 60.447
Wii U - 53.547

Splatoon Total for Holiday 2015 - 325,047
Wii U Total for Holiday 2015 - 306,108

It's not presumptions to think that Switch/Splatoon 2 will at least triple that holiday total in 2017. I think we should expect numbers between 1000K-1500K for the Switch in the holiday. Depending on the stock Splatoon will end up between 800K-1300K if it continues to outpace the Wii U version 3 to 1. Also it's not entirely proven if the rate at which Splatoon 2 is selling is it's ceiling - currently low availability of Switches ensure it's only outselling Wii U 3:1, in the holidays with ample supply it could certainly outsell Splatoon 2015 Holiday by an even greater margin.
It all really depends on how much Nintendo is able to ship to Japan but I don't see signs of them shipping less than 3.5 million this year to Japan. I think even with manufacturing issues their original target has always been around 3.5 million. If they are able to ramp up production than 4-5 million is a possibility this year, they'd need an even bigger holiday than 2011 but I think Splatoon 2's growth should tell you it's a bit bigger than either MK7 or MH3G. Splatoon 2 is currently selling a $300 device at the speed of a price cut 3DS, with more ample supply it should be a top 10 best selling game in Japan by the end of the 2018 holidays if not sooner.

09./00. [PSV] Yomawari: Midnight Shadows # <ACT> (Nippon Ichi Software) {2017.08.24} (¥5.980) - 8.678 / NEW <40-60%>

17./00. [PSV] The Lost Child <RPG> (Kadokawa Games) {2017.08.24} (¥6.800) - 3.233 / NEW <40-60%>
18./00. [PS4] The Lost Child <RPG> (Kadokawa Games) {2017.08.24} (¥6.800) - 3.191 / NEW <20-40%>

Got your shipments the wrong way round there, retailers!

Also, that's a poor sellthrough for Lost Child on both platforms but particularly PS4

Anyone else thinking the Animal Crossing mobile game will be revealed at Apple's iPhone event like last year with Super Mario Run?

Just thinking about how it still hasn't been revealed, there's also TGS since that's about Smartphone games now but Nintendo doesn't appear there.

Quality is one of the less used factors for game performance in these threads since forever. Franchises must perform the same as last game at the minimum , no matter how many factors work against it, and even if they do you can always play the xx increased dev costs to call it a bomba anyway.

Yeah, comparisons to MH3GHD on Wii U and MHP3rdHD on PS3 don't paint the entire picture since both of those games were more popular with fans and out at a time where Monster Hunter was at its peak.

Nah. Animal Crossing is not as huge as Mario so i cant see it happen on Apple Event. I do think, Nintendo Direct for Animal Crossing is probably the biggest bet there.

If it's like the Fire Emblem Direct they could even announce another AC game with it.

congrats to splatoon devs. reaching 1 million on media create and beating dragon quest this week
Nice Switch numbers too.

Monster Hunter.. i guess it was to be expected.

expected drops for most other software and hardware.
nothing too interesting

Let's just take Media Create, Famitsu and Dengeki, and average their numbers. I like Famitsu's numbers better this week, but let's see Dengeki.

ARMS still holding quite well there. Zelda also still on the path for 1 mil in japan.

Many Switch games big titles seems to be doing quite well on legs too.
