Media Create Sales: Week 35, 2014 (Aug 25 - Aug 31)

PS4 will be languishing all the way till end of the year, is my guess.

2015 is the year it needs to save itself.

Yeah, IMO they are probably getting ready to re-launch the system during early 2015 (starting with Bloodborne, a first wave of multiplatform games and HSG). This Christmas is already a lost cause. They'll market Destiny, DriveClub and God Eater 2 Rage Burst but they won't try anything impresive.

Interesting comparison and nice hypothesis. That might the case since this difference is ain't normal unless they tracked very different kind of stores in very different area.

But then this kind of differences should show up on a weekly basis; it's not that they change sample so often. And also if they have different representative samples, they of course make estimations according to the characteristics of the population of reference.

Media Create:
Toukiden: 79.384
Love Live: 59.710
Wii U: 8.584

Famitsu:
Toukiden: 100.073
Love Live: 88.169
Wii U: 6.237

So does one of these have like a more family friendly and/or a more niche retailer in their data provider list versus the other?

Directly from Wikipedia, "Nintendo cites Media Create sales data during its conferences and presentations." The source is from the 2008 Nintendo fall conference.

Neptunia U is highly amusing and damned nicely animated too.

Man the Cross Blood numbers are pretty low though, but guess it can be expected when the game was released multiple times now.

The new Toukiden is pretty enjoyable. but man I can see folks just totally cheesing bosses to death with the gun + bullets that slow down the enemy when shot charged. Since it even stops pretty much any motions including attacks keeping them in place. I so know its going to be nerfed to shit lol

You aren't implying the game is bad, right? Just that it's a hunting game and that trend is quite normal :p

After seeing this numbers I repeat what I've already said. They should try to sell the expansions at a cheaper price to people that owns the original game...

I'm implying that it's an "upgrade" version, which always have less sale than previous title. Yeah, they should have upgrading program for people with previous game.

So will we see the XBox One at #1 next week? Surely at launch it can do more than ~20000. 3DS will most likely have a huge drop anyway.

Isn't Famitsu also tracking digital download number? Could it be that?

No, that's a different thing entirely. These are retail sales.

Not always, and not by this large of a drop usually. The upgrade versions are always a good indication of how much fans liked the first game, because if they really liked it most of them would upgrade. That's how sales have traditionally shown. Even when there is a drop off, it is generally fairly small, especially for first week sales, because those are the most hardcore fans buying it.

Sorry, I heard in the other mediacreate thread that God Eater 2 Burst was coming this year, but I can't find this information anywhere.

Release date is undecided with no launch year. Will be playable and have more information on the title at TGS 2014.

Edit: Famitsu also doesn't say anything about 2014 other than more info at TGS

Then, what is the better explanation for such big difference? Please remind me if there is any difference between Media Create and Famitsu on what they put into account as sell (like download card, don't remember which one tracks it).

How about Toukiden Kiwami?

Neptunia U is a lot more fun to play than I thought it would be. And as you said. it's gorgeously animated on the Vita screen :)

Is there an impression anywhere on GAF? I'm still deciding should I wait for localization or should I just import it.

Media Create Sales: Week 35, 2014 (Aug 25 - Aug 31)
02./00. [PSV] Toukiden: The Age of Demons Extreme # <ACT> (Koei Tecmo) {2014.08.28} (¥6.264) - 79.384 / NEW

Hopefully devs can drop their support for the PSP and just focus on the Vita and whichever console they decide to make their games for.

Thank you :3
The lack of impression disturb me greatly

Considering that everyone got interested in it from the US version its no surprise that there wouldnt really be import impressions.

I dont have time to do up info dumps on various shit anyways outside of the few OTs that I run.

7 games > 20k is a good week softwarewise.

And well, MasouKishin F cratered to hell. Great job not putting it on Vita.

Yep, you're right (Famitsu)

01./00. [PS3] Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Masou Kishin III - Pride of Justice <SLG> (Bandai Namco Games) {2013.08.22} (¥7.480) - 37.266 / NEW <40-60%>

You can definitely tell this is the final nail in the coffin for the Masou Kishin saga.

We were discussing about that just recently. It depends on how much legs the game will have in the following months. YW2 is still selling incredibly well, and it needs something like 39k on a weekly basis to reach the 3m mark before the year ends. It might sell less than that in September / October, but surely it will increase during holidays.

39k a week. I see. Either way, congrats to Level5.

How did Shinovi Versus do compared to the 3DS titles?

Why are there no numbers for Bayonetta 2?

The 20th title is at 19pt and, well, Bayonetta 2 isn't there yet ;__;

Hopefully, it'll appear in the next few days, and start gaining as much pts as possible.

[PS3] Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix - 66pt
[PS3] Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix - 29pt

Can someone explain the reason for this difference? The Japanese didn't find Kingdom Hearts appealing? Or is this part of the decline of PS3 sales?
