They'll probably ship more for the two last weeks of September since Pokkén & Fire Emblem will release back to back yeah.

Oh right, forgot about Pokkén Tournament DX again, ha.

Anyway, I guess October is when Switch sales will drop the lowest, in preparation for Super Mario Odyssey. But if it can stay around 50k throughout September, that'd be a good thing.

I think Everybody's Golf probably sold a decent amount digitally also because the only way to order the season pass was to buy the title digitally for what it's worth.

Switch is truly a monster in Japan, I never thought I would see the day where a Nintendo first party in its second game ever about to outsell dragon Quest, this is Splatoon 2 second time out and its doing huge numbers, Nintendo can finally say this game is a keeper for their list of valuable franchise...............in 4 weeks or less, Splatoon 2 will pass dragon quest 11 retail sales.........now this will show Square Enix if sony want any exclusive stuff, just say no, more money to made on the Switch, let sony have monster hunter, I see the series going downhill, and not because its not on switch, I feel XX not as good as the past games.

I still have a feeling Monster Hunter XX might sell up to 200 to 300k, which would put it ahead of sony 1st party game sales

the eff is this post

just say no to sony, i'll start the campaign now

Atlus is notorious for keeping support late until a console's life. There's really no surprise in them making games this late for the 3DS.

Well Deserved, BotW. TP is the top seller in the series right? I know it's either that or Ocarina. I think it's safe to say BotW will end up as the best selling Zelda LTD eventually.

Another great week for Switch, I was expecting less. I wonder how many units of the Monster Hunter Double Cross was sold in this period.

04./01. [NSW] Monster Hunter Double Cross: Nintendo Switch Ver. # <ACT> (Capcom) {2017.08.25} (¥5.800) - 27.120 / 111.396 (-68%)

Nice hold. Or not bad at all. I hope that it can manage to have some legs and reach the 200k mark.

And ouch :

16./00. [NSW] Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon # <RPG> (Koei Tecmo) {2017.08.31} (¥7.300) - 4.463 / NEW

I thought it would sell less than 10k, but it was way lower.

E this is interesting :

10./00. [PS4] Resident Evil: Revelations <ADV> (Capcom) {2017.08.31} (¥2.990) - 9.260 / NEW

I wonder what is the expectation for the Switch version, maybe 3K first week and 15k LTD ?

Vita keeps dropping and dropping, it used to be 5k+ and have been declining since week over week.

Okay, maybe a little unfair including Nights 2. Here's more about the attach ratio compared to the other systems:
  • PS4: 0.35%
  • Vita: 0.13%
  • Switch: 0.28%

Doesn't mean the public aren't thinking it is a successor though.

I mean, Nintendo could make another SKU of Switch more geared towards handheld-only users, but I can't see them putting out a 3DS-2 (or Wii 3 for that matter) without also taking a bunch of wind out of the sails of the Switch.

Which means that, in sales even if in terms of nothing else, the Switch is a successor to the 3DS's market, as there will likely be no 3DS to make up for however fewer sales Switch gets than the 3DS.

Like the Wii U did bad, but it's still 13 million, and Nintendo's total base for the previous run was that plus the 3DS numbers. If Nintendo only has Switch now, it should outperform the 3DS, or else it will still be a loss in the end.

Tons of wiiu owners also had 3ds systems. Losing zero zero customers would Still mean fewer units of hardware sold.

It will surpass all but OoT by the end of the year. DLC/Amiibos hitting soon and Nintendo will increase Switch shipments in the last 3 months starting with MariO.

The Switch = PS4 thing is weird. Maybe for 3rd party pubs that upfront skepticism and hesitation is somewhat apt but for consumers it's not at all. How well do you think Super Bomberman R would've sold as a 2014 PS4 game?

A well as to be expected. And judging by the PS4 sales launch aligned, not much.

Preparations for direct have started.

I wonder if Nintendo will open preorders for other games except Mario. Pokemon can wait a few weeks more but Xenoblade could start immediately with the announcement of release date.

Is everyone on board for Xenoblade 2017?

I was team 2017, but then gamescon hearing the presenters talking made it seem like they were really trying to get the game complete.

I'm still team2017 but with a few doubts.

2017 for the west ? Sure. Dont know about Japan...they might release it next year depending on the 3rdParty titles they have lined up for the final two months.

But yeah def. Team17.

Sure hope so. It would be odd if Nintendo didn't have any first party games for both November and December, which leads me to believe they have faith in Xeno making it out in time.

Capcom was most likely the first Japanese publisher to receive a Switch devkit. I'm pretty sure that MHXX could have launched simultaneously on the 3DS and Switch. But Capcom in their infinite wisdom and genius level business acumen decided USFII was far more important to the overall future of their company. Dumbasses...

Well, SFII is going to end up selling more than MHXX lol!

Japanese consumers won when they announced Monster Hunter: World before releasing the Switch port. It's hard to get mad at informed consumer spending being enabled.

They managed to sell a half-assed port for way too much money to an audience that was willing to buy more copies than it deserved to sell. I'd say it was a success.

Getting dev-kits earlier doesnt necessarily mean that the company has resources free to actually develop and optimize the games. Could they have had MHXX out at the Switch launch ? Likely...but it probably would have been a worse version than the one that launched this month...and the total sales wouldnt have been much higher....if higher at all.

The only misstep in regards to MHXX from Capcom is the missing western release....they know that the game would sell to some Switch owners but they are sacrificing it to maximize MHW sales potential.
