Better to ask in this thread

Did Xillia get another shipment they must be close to 100% sell thru.
Still they must have a fair amount of used copies by now if you want it .

Good sales for 3DS and PS3 .

-91% must be some kind of record, or at least close. I expected it to drop really sharply since it's
a) a JRPG
b) in a long-running series
c) that had much better first-week sales than earlier entries
but 91% is still surprising. Could it be that M-C slightly overtracked the first week and is compensating?

Fantastic start for Dragon Quest Collection. Great second week for Biohazard Revival Selection as well.

Tales was VERY front-loaded, as expected.

Alexios

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
So, is that almost all the shipment of DQC in one go? Limited release, right?

That's unexpectedly high for DQ collection isn't it? Wonder if it will have the same kind of legs as other DQ games...

Edit: Might be a dumb question, but how is the amount of WSR sold slightly lower than the amount of Wii sold? Aren't they bundled together...

I posted this in the old thread, but...

Pretty crazy with all the 3DS doom and gloom that it has already sold ~25% of the PS3's LTD numbers in just about half a year.

How's Tokyo? It seems pretty bad in the news.

Fantastic 3DS numbers; I guess that proves that you can sell hardware just by announcing games.

Also wow at Xillias, drop; and some people were trying to tell themselves that it would somehow have better legs than previous Tales games last week. I guess this confirms that there is no chance it will get anywhere close to a million

Why?

And shouldn't that have been expected knowing they're getting the MH games?

Usually announcements of game don't really bump hardware before the game gets advertised/released.

Not really the 3DS is the successor to the highest selling console in Japan history .
The doom and gloom was because how long it took to get those numbers along with it a huge price drop .
Now that it getting games and at a good price , 3DS sales should be smooth sailing .

Edit from chirs graph look like tales had a normal drop only that the first week so huge compare to the others .

They aren't usually MH, they are never two MHs.

And Nintendo had a very good overall show in general, I believe they managed to increase overall confidence in 3DS as a very solid and viable platform.

btw, do we have any info on Senran K's shipments? I think it will sell out.

This should kill any talk of ToX reaching 1 million in Japan... It did drop more than I expected though (expected around 100K)

DQ Collections opens well but I thought SE has a limited print of 250K?

THere's still some old stock being sold I would assume

Don't see why that makes him 'commit suicide' anymore than the people who underestimated Xilia. I think Nintendo deserves credit for how they've handled things since they botched the launch of the 3DS, but being skeptical is no reason for derision.

Well, this demonstrate that announcements alone can boost hardware.
...If advertised early as Capcom did with MH3G! :lol
Really, what the hell at 3DS, it rocks Japan right now!

Yea but MH was kind of the tent pole for the PSP? Highest 2 selling PSP games are Portable 3rd and Freedom Unite aren't they? Knowing that the series for at least the time being as jumped ship to the 3DS might put a lot of people off from buying Vita right away and might be happy w/ a 3DS.

"it's impossible a 90% drop"
Ahahah!
Anyway, for a game like this, the higher you open, the higher you drop.

Fantastic numbers for 3DS; was just an announcement be able to increase the purchase desire of the console? Apparently yes, because there are no game released from the price drop so far, and Zelda is increasing as well. Ocarina of Time 3D could do above 500k, which is amazing.

I cannot believe 3DS is seeing a boost based on the announcements. I didnt see that coming. When the game launches? Sure. But because of the announcement? Lol. Crazy. Also, PSP again gets robbed at the finish line trying to cement a #1 selling hardware of the year in Japan. DS just barely stole it from PSP last year, and 3DS does it this year. Damn.

Queue the silence from '3DS is dead' folk.

I was one of those people. 91% drop? I mean cmon, I know they are usually front loaded but that is insane.

Indeed. You wouldn't know if you listened to analysts or read articles on the web, but 3DS sales are excellent since the price cut. How long until these people figure out lowering the price was a key factor of success?

And I've yet to see a journalist realize that 3DS japanese upcoming lineup is perhaps the best ever seen in a 6 months timeframe, on any handheld/console. It's pretty surrealistic.

Monster Hunter 3G ads started running almost as soon as the info was released.

Kuma no Pooh-San? Thats an intriguing title.

Not that it matters one cent, but why does Biohazard get changed to Resident Evil in the list, but poor winnie the pooh stay's pooh-san?

also Dunamis 15 :( The 360 version must be sitting there at 21, giving it an acceptable total of 10k+

Beginning to look like the 3DS will have a respectable user base by the time Vita hits. Things are looking much better for Nintendo than they were a month ago.
