Predict how much these titles will sell in the month (from Sep 30 to Oct 27):

[3DS] Pokémon X/Y (16 days) - 2.950.000
[PS3+360] Grand Theft Auto V (18 days) - 300.000
[PS3] Tales of Symphonia Chronicles (18 days) - 190.000
[PSV] Danganronpa 1 & 2 Reload (18 days) - 110.000
[3DS] Battle for Money: Sentouchuu (11 days) - 70.000
[3DS] Hardware (28 days) - 700.000
[PSV] Hardware (28 days) - 70.000

They could slash 75% off the price, pack in the ten highest selling games and a 32GB card, and it still wouldn't outsell the 3DS.

Oh, it'd outsell it for a few weeks, but I bet the 3DS would still shift more units over the year.
Or they could just pack it in with a 3DS :P (I'm sure Nintendo wouldn't mind!)
Now that might work.

True but 3DS now has far stronger software than it had then with Pokemon and MH4 hitting it would require a lot more from the Vita to produce the same results.

I'm prety sure a 4000 yen Vita with a 32 gb memory card and the 20 best games would sell on par with the 3ds

But then again such a thing will never happen :p

Yeah I wasn't talking about that specific example more so in comparison to the week it managed to overtake (e.g a price cut and new release).

To be fair, if Vita got all of those things, it'd sell way more than the 3DS. Sony would go bankrupt, but it would sell more.

Nope, it's a redesign with 4 new color combinations (along with white and black), 20% thinner, 15% lighter, 1GB on-board storage, 1 hour longer battery, MicroUSB, etc.

I see thanks, have to admit I didn't follow what's new in this redisign has my interest in the system is quite low. Can the MicroUSB port be used to store save and digital games in place of those expensive memory cards ?

You can use the port to transfer games and saves to a computer for storage.

A gaming system with 32GB memorycard and 20 retail games included, all for 4000 yen, i'm pretty sure it would sell a lot. Not to mention that software developers would see this as a good opportunity.
Ten games, man. Ten.

It's kinda depressing that it's even debatable. Even I'm not sure if I was joking or not.

Hey now, I upped your ante to make it more interesting (there has to be 20 RETAIL games worth owning on Vita, right? PSP/PSN/PSone excluded)

Why are all making such low predictions for PSVita?

I had the opposite question. Why is everyone making such high predictions for the Vita? Is there something that I'm missing? I mean, the Vita redesign is just 1000 yen cheaper and releases two days before Pokemon. I'm sure it will boost sales, especially since it comes in new colors, but I don't think it will be by much. The Vita's been selling abysmally for the past few weeks, so I feel like I'm missing something with all the high predictions for it.

Peple are really underestimating Danganronpa - the best release for PSP game was charting for several weeks when anime have started and has sales >100k now (just for "the best reprint")

Yup but it's only a enhanced port of both games for Vita, will the people who bought the game after watching the anime buy the game a second time just for DAT OLED SCREEN and touch control ?

The anime is also bad with very very low production values and it's not a big hit in the charts (still selling decently though)

Yeah, a good opportunity to not make anything because their game is packed in with 19 others...

Yeah, that's two weeks in a row where a game sells well but there's no hardware bump at all.

Deeply, deeply troubling.

Not really, the Falcom fanbase already owns a Vita Through the previous Kiseki game (as bad as it was) and Ys IV. The odds of this new kiseki game bringing in new Vita owners is almost nill

I can't hear you over the furrowing of my brow.

You make a good point.

Like I've said before, Vita is a niche system and niche systems eventually hit their niche and there is not much of an audience outside that. When you keep pumping in sequels of the same niche games people won't automatically want it. Of course a few more thousand should be tacked on with people waiting for the new model, but Vita will never stabilize over 15k for a long period of time.
