Aren't 5pb releasing a game based on this in January for Vita too?

As kuroneko pointed out, it's by Idea Factory. There's also mobile and browser games, too.

Also, Famitsu updated with press release, looks like there's also a bundle with New 3DS + cover plates (but only at animate)

Accurate
12./12. [PSV] Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition <ADV> (Sony Computer Entertainment) {2015.03.19} (¥2.400) - 5.035 / 885.360 (-16%)

19./15. [PSV] Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition <ADV> (Sony Computer Entertainment) {2015.03.19} (¥2.400) - 3.855 / 779.523 <80-100%> (-14%)

I just notice the big discrepancy in the totals for both trackers for Minecraft Vita.

P4G had pretty good legs too if I remember correctly. You could still get 4000 yen trading that game in like a year after release. Hopefully P5 does as well.

P4G came within Vita's first year and was had the support of two anime TV series, a load of merch, spinoffs and a movie. By the time Persona 5 gets a similar deal, there will be an expanded version to mop up those sales.

Idea Factory is making a dating game. Bandai Namco is making a mini-game compilation.

Osomatsu has now joined the ranks of Bleach, Naruto and Attack on Titan as properties with game licenses shared between multiple publishers on dedicated hardware lol.

Does Attack of Titan count if neither are likely to get sequels?

Hey, Forza made it to Dengeki, 1.436.

Between all trackers we now have data for a whole 2 Xbox One games for the year so far.

Skyrim Legendary Edition is being rereleased as a PS3 The Best game on November, kind of weird timing. Senran Kagura Estival Versus on Vita too.

Speaking of Minecraft Vita, I noticed that ever since the Wii U version came out, the Wii U version has always outsold the Vita version on a weekly basis. So much so that where as Minecraft Wii U is at 138k, the Vita version only sold around 67-86k since.

This also raises questions about the holidays. Will the Wii U version REALLY take off then?

Not to mention the Wii U version will soon (say less than 2 months, maybe less?) become THE highest performing Microsoft game at retail, with Blue Dragon on 360 having kept that title at around 200k.

Edit: Numbers for Minecraft:

Minecraft Wii U Edition LTD as of Week 39, 2016 (Sep 26 - Oct 02):

MC = 137.819
Famitsu = 138.174

Minecraft Vita Edition LTD at Week 24, 2016 (Jun 13 - Jun 19):

MC = 798.870
Famitsu = 712.484

LTD as of Week 39, 2016 (Sep 26 - Oct 02):

MC = 885.360 (+ 86.490)
Famitsu = 779.523 (+ 67.039)

I'm sure it'll have a decent holiday selling with whatever stock of WiiU is left to come in Japan.

But since you've brought it up, I was just thinking how small the gap has been heading considering the vast amount of time between the releases based on this:

Wii U
01./01. [WiiU] Minecraft: Wii U Edition <ADV> (Microsoft Game Studios) {2016.06.23} (¥3.600) - 38.407 / 137.819 (+17%)

02./02. [PSV] Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition <ADV> (Sony Computer Entertainment) {2015.03.19} (¥2.400) - 26.186 / 885.360 (+12%)

Either way, it's a blinding success wherever it goes and should probably pass 1m at retail on Vita either late this year or early next year; plus a decent number on WiiU by that point too. I wonder where it's up to on PS4.

Dengeki.

Retail software sales for the first 9 months of the year are down by over 5 million units from the same period last year, with the 3DS & PS3 having lost most of it.

YTD
3DS: 7.52m, down by 3.97m
PSV: 3.66m, down by 25k units (Vita was up YoY up until last week actually, sales have slowed down a on the past couple of months)
PS4: 5.20m, up by 1.83m, PS4 sales for the year so far are already higher than the totals from last year, so that margin is only going to grow.
WIU: 1.62m, down by 780k
PS3: 1.45m, down by 2.27m
XB1: 30k, down by 21k

Dengeki doesn't give data for Wii or PSP software, so we're missing just a little bit.

Bit of a concern that the PS4 is struggling to even make up for the PS3s losses. When the vita starts declining its hard to see those sales being made up for. The only way the market doesn't see a massive decline in software sales in the next couple of years is if the NX is a huge success.

Lol. Thats one hella low.T_T Now, lets hope WoM can at least make it sold half on those number without price cut lol. As hoping for legs is kinda difficult here.T_T

YSO predicted less than 100k FW, meaning that 300k shipment is high, and bomba bins might happen. Let's hope for at least >100k fw, + holidays to be safe.

How much has Minecraft PS4 sold btw?

Dengeki has the game at 118,463 units.
Wii U version outsold it, despite the PS4 version was released during before in Christmas season and with a lower price. You can figure out that kids market is almost no existent on PS4.

I don't think bomba bin will happen so soon. Retailers are also going to be thinking about the next 3-4 months. There might not be a need to slash prices on a kids game going into the holidays if there is sustained interest or if sales pick up. If interest completely falls off in the first month, and it goes <10k, then yes, they might want to get rid of inventory. I don't think >100k fw is looking good right now.

For a Saturday release with unknown behavior after first week, 300k can or cannot be high for initial shipment. All these assuming first week is indeed <100k.

Ouch, that's a damn lot... Well at least, if sales are stronger than expected, they won't get stock problems.

About VR, not surprised by the lack of interest in Japan. Expensive device for a type of product (home consoles) that has been struggling for a few years already in, and which needs additional accessories for an optimal experience...

It's already a tough seller in the west, where console sales are healthy, but in Japan where they're not...

Well, at least GamesMaya said that since the Anime started (last week), pre-orders of MHS sudden rised.
She had to order a new shipment to supply all pre-orders.

Also am I just imagining or have we stopped getting famitsu digital estimates for games?

How's the rise compared to the demo bump?

Let's see how the second episode fares this Sunday.

By the way, about the anime "bombing", I just went and checked: Yo-kai Watch didn't appear in the Top 10 until Week January 20-26, so until the 4th episode or so. So probably too early to tell how successful (or not) it will be.

Honestly, I really don't know what to think about MHS anymore. Gonna wait until post-holidays.

I think 300K is a pretty safe shipment to be honest. It means they probably won't have to restock any time soon but even with a sub 100K debut they should/could easily sell most of a 300K shipment at full price and if it does have legs they'll probably sell it all.

We don't really know how much Wii U digital sold, it was originally released as digital only last December I believe

Famitsu's Top 30 for December 2015 (30/11 - 3/1)

[WIU] Minecraft: Wii U Edition – 77,233 (N/A physical, 77,233 digital)

PS3 (6 days) 28 589 (or 34 days: 94 412)
Vita (26 days) 79 576
PS4 (32 days) 49 479
WiiU (18 days) 77 233
