A fair debut for Innocence, it may be fair to say. With Revelations beating out RE4 GCN, I'm intrigued to know if that makes it the highest debut for a RE game on a Nintendo system (admittedly not some astonishing achievement).

decent sales for Innocence, it even pushed the vita above the psp (not that that's saying much.)

i'm surprised ACV and RE:R are so high, thought they'd be closer to 100k once it was said that ACV was on top.

RE:R is close enough to 150k to be considered decent.

ToI did respectable numbers too (at least if one compared them only to Abyss 3DS). 55k is far from a striking success, but it's better than the worst case scenarios some people predicted. However, knowing Namco they probably had strange expectations of 200k LT sales.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Revelations did almost in the 150k-200k range to be considered at least good. Good.
Innocence is ABSOLUTELY the surprise here. Even more than Armored Core having the best debut in the series.

LOL at Gundam.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this only tracks physical numbers and not digital downloads of titles from PSN? ToI:R certain did better then I expected, and RE:R may not hit 1 million sales in Japan but it will certainly do it globally.

I'm really not that surprised at Tales doing okay. There are very hardcore fans for the series at the base, and there are at least 100k worth of them. That's why when you look at the sales for Tales games, even the worst in the series and the total nonsense fan discs tend to sell about 100k.

Vita and ToIR doing bad, RE:R has an ok debut and ACV smashes expectations

I say RE:R had an ok debut because I'm comparing it to MGS:pO (which was an spinoff with much lower production values) and that game did 178k in the first week.

Yes, best debut. It's already outsold AC4. Best-selling individual SKU is AC2 (205k), AC2+Expansion and AC3+Expansion are both a little under 400k total.
Wow, that's impressive! I've never played an AC game but I'm interested in V, it looks interesting based on what I've seen so far. Hopefully these sales are indicative of its quality.

Yes? It was 18k week 2, 15k week 3, 18k week 4. Seems like a holding pattern to me, no indication that this week's uptick is linked to ToIR versus just natural variance.
But you still can't said there is no boost at all because it do some how increase 20% from last week. Otherwise it suppose 20% decrease like last week?

If you curious, yes it is still very low sale for new systems.

18./19. [3DS] Nintendogs + Cats: French Bulldog / Shiba / Toy Poodle & New Friends <ETC> (Nintendo) {2011.02.26} (¥4.800) - 5.397 / 487.201 (-9%)

Female gamers jumping on board? Maybe that's why Capcom decided to announce Ace Attorney 5.

No, it did good considering especially the Vita's install base and the size of the project.

RE:R numbers are good, 150K roughly is a good start. I'm sure Capcom is pretty happy with the 3DS at this point in time. The 3 Kings is still owning the top 10 and AC5 is doing awesome. Rhythm Thief is holding on as well, it may have some legs.

And finally, Kirby will hit 600K for sure at this point. Hell yeah. I hope it continues to show up in the top 20.

I think the fairest thing is to call it a modest bump at best. I agree with Stump that it's probably natural variance but I'd be more comfortable being definitive with more data points so you could assume, for example, without Tales it might have dropped another k or 2 in which case this is around a 5k bump! But it's still a silly discussion with the numbers involved because, whether there IS a bump in play or not the smaller number leaves the discussion open to statistical noise.

I'm left wondering how long Sony will allow Vita to limp along like this before they announce a price cut.

Why are the Japanese not interested in Vita? I thought the line up was pretty solid.

09./02. [3DS] Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure <ACT> (Sega) {2012.01.19} (¥6.090) - 14.928 / 46.526 (-53%)

While Beyond the Labyrinth doesn't even obtain to do 4k. The difference between having a demo and not having it?

Although RE:R is very close to 150K but it's still under, a bit underperformed.

ToIR really out performed the expectation for its debut. However, it will be probably under 10K next week.

AC5 really gained from From's new popularity and we have seen signs from COMG this might happen.

If you're going to draw this analogy, didn't MGS:pO also launch in the thick of the holiday season?

Tales did alright considering it's a remake of a not so hot title, but I'm expecting (hoping) that Ragnarok Odyssey and Gravity Daze both break 100k.

Maybe combined, but I don't have much faith in their ability to do well, I think at best we see 50k sales from each of them.

The difference between being an accessible rhythm title from Sega (with a demo) and being a really niche RPG from Konami (without a demo), yeah.

Portable Ops released Dec 21st though. Revelations likely would have debuted higher had it also been leading into the biggest shopping season of the year, rather than launching after it.

I don't see any real surprises this week except Armored Core V that performed a little better that expected (on PS3).
