I don't know if there is a straight connection but Mario Kart and Splatoon aren't selling that well as they used to after Nintendo launched everyones loved and accepted "paid online service" that brought so much value to switch's online gaming.

I know that it is a popular opinion in Nintendo fanbase, that $20 isn't money and you are a loser if you complain, but it looks like it is seriously affecting sales of online games. Those are very small numbers for the market where Switch is totally dominating over competitors.

October is actually a slow part of the year, so if you notice even the single player games like Zelda & Odyssey are taking a hit. We'll see once the holiday season passes whether the online titles pick back up or not.

To be fair, part of Nintendo's audience are kids, and $20 is money to them (unless their parents are willing to pay for it).

Impressive numbers for COD IIII. And not bad for Dark Souls on Switch. All things considered, I was expecting like sub 5k, but not bad. Let's see if it may keep on selling and reach the 20k mark.

And Switch is also having a quite stable and impressive sale. I very curious to see how many units the console will sell, with all the bundles announced so far.
