Must know how many of these are the LE.... damnit.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
3DS still on a roll. Can't believe everyone was calling it dead just a few weeks back.

Sheeeittt. Type-0 did much worse than I thought it would do. Massively long development cycle, platform switch etc. As PSP games go, it surely must be one of the most expensive.

Crisis Core outdid it with a much, much, much smaller userbase.

Most of the sales are probably PSN downloads so people can play the game on Vita

JOKE

Nah, but I wouldn't be surprised if at least 10-15k bought the game on PSN

lol not a single 3DS game in the top 20 when the system is selling 60k!! wow

and looks like type-0 well be far away form the 1 million in the end, that was the last hope for a million seller for the PSP other than MH.

Well, I did!
So +1!

it will be very interesting to see how long it takes for Vita to pass 3DS's LTD numbers
and how they go head to head each week

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Type 0 worse than crisis core is surprising - seems like the main ff x SE base purchased their psps a long time ago - which makes sense.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!

This week, everything will start to change XD
Many releases for 3DS, finally... apart for the main two.

Nearly 500,000 for an SE PSP title seems about right. I'd actually expect to see a bump in sales come Vita release.

Outside of Monhun, what was the last PSP title to sell that much right out of the gate? I'm drawing a blank.

Not sure why it's qualified as an adventure game. With my couple of hours of it so far it's more straight up idol management and promotion.

Did Idolm@ster 2 sell more on the PS3 or 360 at launch?

but that it took me less than 4 minutes to start the thread ahaha

At this point in the system's life, there has to be a small but not insignificant audience who have a nagging thought along the lines of "when I upgrade, if I want to keep playing this, I'm gonna need it in digital form", surely?

Assuming, that is, that people *would* want to hang on to the game, rather than playing through it and selling it on.

(Random aside that just sprung to mind: How do you get your existing saves onto the Vita?)

That might be OK sales for a SE PSP title in Japan, but as the bulk of WW sales for a FF title it's not a good situation. Surely a port to HD consoles will be required to make up the numbers.

04. [PSP] Idolmaster SP: Missing Moon (Namco Bandai) 39,000 / NEW
05. [PSP] Idolmaster SP: Wandering Star (Namco Bandai) 35,000 / NEW

Will MGS HD collection sales be any indication of how doing such a move is actually important?

[GBA] Kirby & the Amazing Mirror (Nintendo) - 176.225 / 704.295 / 25,02% 15/04/04

3DS really is blowing my mind. More than double PSP, while PSP has 7 in the top twenty and 3DS has nothing?

Next week... hold on to your asses.

What are people buying with the 3DS?

There are about fifty games out for 3DS and many hundreds of DS titles, with which the 3DS are all compatible. You don't have to have a single game in the top 20 for a situation involving each system buyer getting a game. There are probably a decent number of games that have a steady ongoing trickle (like Tetris, Nintendogs+Cats, and the Zelda and Star Fox remakes).

I vaguely recall people asking very similar questions about the DS at some points in its life, too.

Well, not awful for Type-0, but not amazing either. Pretty big investment for a PSP game that's going to do under a million in Japan and maybe not even release elsewhere.

Kirby did a bit worse than I expected too tbh. Hope it can leg it to 500k, what did EY end up at?

Go Vacation and Just Dance hanging in there nicely.

So in October alone, the 3DS has sold ~270k.

I don't think anybody expected that.

Yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see how high sales go once some good games come out. Media Create sales getting interesting again. :)

This never happened for the DS, there were very specific hardware bumps along side big software releases. The DS never sold on the promise of something great, it sold well with incredibly strong evergreen titles with weekly boosts from new software. I think 2006 and 2007 DS sales will show good examples of this.

Zelda is selling costantly, as well as Nintendogs, One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP and Pokemon.
And last week, we had the rising of Nintendogs and the stable position of Kagura, due to the pink color.
3DS is selling software, guys. When it has games, it sells them (Kagura even outdid Marvelous' expectations ).
And this week, they're starting to come with a good pace.

Ports to the new handhelds would be a sounder investment imo. Less competition, higher visibility and they can still go full price.

well,if they want to sell a million then they have no other choice than releasing the game in america and europe too, even if it would only sell like 200k copies

how is the word of mouth btw?

I don't see how it's different from KH BbS. I agree with your point, they're losing out on the bulk of WW sales for the franchise, but such is the nature of the platform. I don't see BbS available on any other platform either, even though it did miserable numbers in the US, which is the main market for KH games anyway.

I don't see how it's different from KH BbS. I agree with your point, they're losing out on the bulk of WW sales for the franchise, but such is the nature of the platform. I don't see BbS available on any other platform either, even though it did miserable numbers in the US, which is the main market for KH games anyway.
But you've said yourself that there are licensing issues with BbS, which is why it isn't even on PSN. So perhaps they can't port the game elsewhere without significantly more investment, too. That most likely doesn't apply to Type-0, so I'm sure they are more willing to do something about it.
