Solid numbers for TEW, very happy.

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
2 PS versions of Evil Within selling like... the exact same, saves it from somewhat mediocre sales.

125k aint bad for a "new IP" I guess. Better than Godhand and Vanquish at least eh Mikami! *crying*

I wonder if Nintendo could have sold more new3ds by now if they had all production devoted to LLs instead of splitting it between 2 new types at once.

01./01. [3DS] Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate # <ACT> (Capcom) {2014.10.11} (¥6.264) - 148.020 / 2.026.454 <80-100%> (-43%)

Slaying your faves, etc.

Bye now!

(can't wait for the digital charts, should add at least another 100k!)

Is there a recent chart/graph comparing the Xbox One's first weeks to the 360 in Japan? Sorry if this question has been asked repeatedly.

I realize the exclusive incentives are nothing in comparison to what the 360 recieved but it must be setting off horrible vibes who are still exclusive to Xbox in development.

Just noticed that baseball game sold about the same (actually little less) than last year even price have doubled lol.
For Vita version numbers it seemingly doubled too but Konami didn't release PSP version this year so that's probably why.

Glad to hear that those numbers are good, wasn't sure.

it is the difference between the ps3 and ps4 that should worry you. even controlling for the fact that the up-take is lower for the ps3 (higher number of consoles sold) one should expect the buyers of ps4 to be more aggressive in their buys as they also have fewer available games to buy.

Given the heavy advertising push and amount of stock left I'm not so sure Evil Within numbers are really that good. I get the impression that Bethesda probably expected (and budgeted for) more.

how the hell did S Tales of the World: Reve Unitia sold so much ?

Its already near Tales of Innocence R total sales.

:/ i want more tales of on 3DS but not this shitty spinoff:(

Don't worry, you won't get any more 3DS Tales of games period ;)

3DS sales are what I'm most interested in, and the fact it's just the same as last year is rather annoying, since I have no idea what conclusions to draw from that. It's doing alright I guess?

Ah well, it's not a decline at least, hopefully next week will will start to indicate an improvement, or at least give the exciting speculation of a decline.

Good for Evil Within. Mediocre new horror IP that it is.

Perhaps we could see some comparisons with other horror games? Fatal Frame? Siren? Or even the western Silent Hills.

El Capitan Todd
good hold for N3Ds and its big hits, and good debut to me for Tales of, considering what it is.
everything else...meh..

Really surprised Namco shipped that many copies of Tales, judging by the sell through data on Famitsu. I'm actually even more surprised it did that "well". Maybe it's time to resurrect the Radiant Mythology series?

Tales did much better than I expected going by the retailer impression someone posted in the last thread, saying it wasn't selling well.

Outdoing the Vita remakes' FW being a mere mobile port sounds good to me. :)

Not to mention that surely a mobile port like that would have a much smaller budget than ground-up remakes on Vita certainly helps as well.

I'd rather see Narikiri Dungeon come back instead. There's still a place for sprite based Tales.

I believe Smash 3DS has surpassed the original game this week.

That just leaves Brawl.

It surpassed the n64 game last week, actually.

Even earlier if we include 3DS downloads: For September, Famitsu estimates 91k.

Nintendo shipment figures for the first one are 1.97 million. The 3DS edition will be above that by December.

Selling 40-60% sounds good to you? And with a Tales game that will be frontloaded?

Well, the Narikiri Dungeon games weren't as successful as the Radiant Mythology games, but I can definitely agree that there's still a place for 2D Tales (or rather, I hope...). I'm still angry at the Hearts R treatment but it probably shows that they're done with 2D Tales.

Isn't 3385 for WiiU insanely bad? Or is it just me?

Like not just kind of bad, but really horribly bad? A current-gen console selling 3000 units in a week?

Maybe I'm just out of the loop...

Namco should have released another Radiant Mythology already.
It's not like they couldn't make it multiplatform if they couldn't decide between PSV or 3DS.

I bet it would sell better than any other Tales on 3DS/Vita.

You know, that seems like a pretty decent baseline for PS4 all things considered.

If the baseline is 8k a week, that's 32k a month, which is 384k per year, not even 500k. When Wii U was selling 8k a week it was a hilarious joke, daily sustenance for Nintendo haters.

8k a week isn't decent. It's an undeniable crisis for console gaming in Japan. If someone can't do something to get that country interested in consoles again, we're looking at dark times, apocalyptic twinkie stuff.

I'm starting to doubt more and more the Famitsu digital estimates.

Anyway, I'll post them tomorrow.

XB1 - 613

Famitsu

XB1 - 1.177

???

500 units difference is practically nothing in absolute terms, it just seems like a huge deviation because the amount of sales is so ridiculously small

Look at the 3DS sales, they're 2k apart between the trackers but that's just statistical noise. Whereas it seems to make a relatively big difference on the XB1.

Ah, since I just saw it:

Old 3DS models are far from running out of stock in Japan. Retailers will have to lower prices before holidays end if they want to get rid of the stock.

And do we still have to wait longer before accepting LL will be the leading model?

If smash and the MK bundle, plus a sort if decent lineup can't get the Wii U baseline to 8-9k in 2015, that'll be bad. 8-9k is still nothing, but it'd be better than 4-5k

Chris, have you ever tried to do some proper time-series analysis on your sales data?
