Forgot to mention it the other day, but Denpa Ningen no RPG Free! has been downloaded 2.4 million times already (200 000 more compared to July).

They even have yet another big update coming tomorrow.

Looks like Genius Sonority is doing well, with both Pokémon Shuffle and DNRPGF bringing a steady stream of revenue.

Actually Wii yearly LTD was above PS3 LTD from 2006 to 2010 (or was it from 2007? What was PS2 YTD in 2006?).
PS3 was above the rest of the home consoles from 2011 to 2012 because in 2013 WiiU YTD was higher.
I will respond to myself.

2006:
NDS - 8.358.724
PSP - 1.849.174
PS2 - 1.450.237
WII - 919.643
PS3 - 457.557
GBA - 370.909
360 - 194.134
NGC - 75.879
XBX - 1.769
Total - 13.678.026

Looking at past years, this current year will be probably the lowest hardware selling from when I've Media Create data (2003).
The peak was in 2007 with a HW YTD of roughly 16.2 million units.

Nikkei Trendy published a list of the biggest hits of 2015.

Not sure exactly what they mean by that as it includes a variety of different things, prodcuts services, etc.

#1 was Hokuriku Shinkansen, a railway line.

Among the list there were stuff like make up, phones, donut shops, frying pans, pants and whatnot, interest to here are the only videogames on the list, Minecraft at #13 and Splatoon at #25.

The supposed criteria for the ranking in based on three points: sales, novelty and influence.

They also had a forecast for the 2016 hits, noteworthy there were PlayStation VR at #5 and Dragon Quest XI tied to Dragon Quest Builders at #10.

a girl sitting in front of me is playing a GBA game with a DSLite

for a second I thought I went back to 2005 :D

she got off in Shinjuku like me but I didnt understand what she was playing, the cart was black, so no Pokemon I presume, top part of the label was black too, these are the only things I was able to notice

Halo5 sold 7k copies?

I'd be tempted to say "maybe it's 70k".... but it can't be it, that's more than the X1 LTD.

...

Man, XB1 really cratered something fierce. It's nothing new, but it's impressive how often we get reminders about that.

Oh, and thanks Okami for the Famitsu translations. Hope we can get that every month from now on, it may not be new but a nice monthly recap is always appreciated.

but let's not forget everything in the home console front has cratered so far. PS4 may possibly, eventually, get to an ok level "given the current climate". thinking of slightly -above Vita numbers here

WiiU and PS4 are doing as bad as XB1, compared to their predecessors, aren't they? maybe worse.

the downfall Wii->WiiU has to be worse than 360->X1

IMHO XB360 to XB1 is worse by far.

ok, seeing the numbers the Xb1 is definitely worse.

but I suspect MS doesn't care for either of those figures the 1.61m or the 57k, both numbers are peanuts for them.

Nintendo, though, lost millions and millions of customers in the transition going from Wii to WiiU. That must have hurt their business more than MS's case.

1.61m wasn't a very good number to begin with, in fact it was abysmal, just not as embarrasing as what ever LTD figure XB1 will achieve.

For MS, it's "I still have no marketshare, the difference now is that I don give a fuck" Nintendo can't allow themselves to think like that.

I wonder if it'd make business sense to include the 3DS and NX version of the same game on a cartridge.

The modern day equivalent of this

45930_1218247272157_262_300.jpg

This is something that crossed my mind as well and something I would really welcome. With this they could really do a very smooth transition from 3DS to NXhandheld without too much risk for 1st and 2nd party software if the big titles like DQ11, DQMJ3, YW3 and MHstories take advantage of this opportunity. Even though this would basically confirm that NX would get the handheld version of DQ11. Also Pokemon Z would be feasible for such a release with this kind of concept, the interesting thing is that this way they could launch "NX" games as early as Spring/Summer 2016, before the NX hardware is even released.

PS4 and 3DS are basically selling the same. The 3DS is at the end of its life more or less so I am not sure if that is impressive.

I never thought the PS4 would stabalize that high so good on Sony. Monster Hunter X should be a firestarter for 3DS again.

PS4 GE bombed?

where is the new thread?

[PS4] God Eater 2: Rage Burst (Bandai Namco, 02/19/15) – 37,824 (New)

Pretty sure Bamco are happy with PS4 numbers.

That's a pretty decent result for God Eater considering it's already had an enhanced re-release. The PS4 version is higher than Rage Burst right?

Bamco and Koei Tecmo vindicated!

El Capitan Todd
the new baseline for PS4 seems decent. It was around 15k before the price cut, so they gained market share/rough sales.
3DS on the other hand is really suffering being "so old" and populated mostly by "sequels" or "spinoffs" or already released IP.
SMM vs Splatoon still fire up the charts!!! :p
Good for GE on Vita, flop on PS4. the re-transition of IPs from (sony) handheld to (sony) home consoles that seems to be planned by many software houses could be harder than expected.

Mpl90

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
I have to admit that PS4 is slowing down not as fast as I thought. It's not that dissimilar to the pace before the cut was announced, but I thought it would've been worse (no changes at all).

God Eater PS4 still did badly compared to GE Vita, though. Hunting games really need portable systems to sell.

Picross 3D 2 and Famista Returns are having nice legs.

As for GE2:R... Good luck with migrating the hunting action fanbase on PS4.
