Media Create Sales: Week 47, 2013 (Nov 18 - Nov 24)

And being on a flailing console means it doesn't make sense to have low numbers?

Come on. Did people honestly expect it to suddenly sell like 800,000 units and push the Wii U up beyond the 3DS?
Yes, clearly everyone expected it to sell some ridiculous strawman figure and that's why these sales are viewed as incredibly poor. It's not because, you know, the sales are actually incredibly poor for a flagship 3D Mario title.

Is the Aikatsu in chart the sequel of this one?

[3DS] Aikatsu! Cinderella Lesson (Bandai Namco) - 9.019 / 120.847 / 7,46% 15/11/12

If it is, then, we have a possible "positive" story of the week.

Mario 3D Land is a good product that is getting marketed well.

At the risk of setting myself up for an even worse disappointment than this week, I'm going to say that it'll have amazing legs this Christmas.

All there is to do at this point is hope.

Yes. Completely under the radar at GAF but an excellent rhythm/girl game

Good job Nintendo, shit out some cheap 2d mario games untill you saturate the market and then spend all your effort on a 3d mario that has historically sold less than half of it's 2d counterparts. But I'm sure yet another Mario Kart will save the WiiU just as it saved the Gamecube.

The Vita TV drop is brutal. How is the situation around services in Japan? Does the device even make sense for media consumption outside gaming?
At least the Vita itself is holding out and God Eater Vita breaking 300k after two weeks should be a success.

Mario did bomb pretty hard and the Wii U bump is negligible considering the released software.

Yeah! Taiko numbers aren't really that bad! :) On par with the series. Let's see if it will have good or bad legs.

Go, Taiko! Let's see an 300k ltd! Go! Go! Go!

Oh come on, you 'predict' failure with any Sony product. Let's call a spade a spade.

I do? I've also predicted since February that the PS4 will dominate this generation vs the Wii U and the Xbone. I'm actually one of very few who actually has a PS4 here in Europe.

Well, nobody expected 3D Mario to be a big system seller. Mario Kart 8 is what will really get the Wii U going.

Thanks! I wonder which one made more profit LR or BD oh well guess I'll never know for sure :p.

Profit is pointless to really discuss since a) no one knows, b) it doesn't matter in the long run because it's a short term goal.

What we should look at is growth and decline in IPs. That is the most valuable thing to publishers and the core of their long term business. The FFXIII series going through straight huge declines is a sign that it is not popular and continuing to tap into it is foolish. BD has more potential in audience growth and has a sequel coming which they expect to sell more of, so it's a more positive IP for the company right now.

So at what point can we declare WiiU dead?

LOL. Those continuously moving goalposts...

Looking forward to Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei on my 3DS XL

It's now very possible to happen. Atlus has a reputation to switch platform if one is tanking.
(They moved SMT Devil Summoner Raidou from PSP to PS2 while developing).

FE x SMT is developped by Nintendo so it won't happen.

Well, Nintendo obviously thought it would be. Otherwise they wouldn't be relying on it as the only major game release to sustain Wii U through the holiday.
