No Comgnet nubers for Bravely Default?

It's not in the top 20.

FtS is going to sell significantly less and nobody should be screaming bomba next week because it is normal for re-releases with added content to perform this way.

Youkai Watch - 3,500 / 219,040 (+32%)

I need this game. :(

You tell me.

Cool to see the game is selling well. Level-5 actually started advertising it recently (TV ad 1, 2, 3 and new trailer)

Christmas + manga starting this month + anime starting January 8th... I wouldn't be surprised if we see the game charting again soon, though I have no idea how much of an impact all this will have on sales. Sales have been pretty good since release, nice and steady.

Me and Sammy Samusu really need this game.

At least for DQX it is just an expanded version. The other two though, yikes. Level-5 have potentially killed off the Layton, Inazuma Eleven and Little Battlers franchises. Incredible.

I find business-y looks at game franchises super-fascinating but don't know crap about any of those franchises. What did they do to mess it all up?

In short: excessive milking. But also with Little Battlers they essentially switched genres for the newest entry.

Not in the Top 20 so less than 20pt. I believe it will sell well though.

Fantasy Life Link didn't chart on Comg either, but it sold 18k at launch and 70k LTD.

Oh, I didn't expect it to set the charts on fire, was just wondering if we have numbers to compare it. I wish we had download numbers for Fantasy Life Link, maybe we could compare them next week.

Thanks anyway

It's amazing how fucking well GTAV has been doing in Japan.

Isn't 600+K a new sales records for the series on japanese territory?

  • Total number of sales pass 348K (343K PS3 version, 5K 360 version)
lol

Those Vita/WiiU comparisons. Never count Nintendo out. Vita has no chance of becoming big. Wii U still has a chance do to decently because of Nintendo franchises. And they can create a hit out of nowhere. Sony Japan Studios on the other hand...

No one should count Nintendo out, they are still a dominant force in the handheld market. But the WiiU ain't looking bright man.

But hey, at least it's guaranteed the WiiU will sell more than the xbox one in Japan.

PS3's Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII took second place with 54K units sold

  • Total number of sales pass 348K (343K PS3 version, 5K 360 version)
  • In two weeks, Lightning Returns has surpassed the 300,000 super-hit mark

I see what you did there

Hmmm...let's not jump the gun.

I hope you're not suggesting for even a second that there's a statistically significant percentage that the Xbox One will do even 1/2 of the Wii U's sales in Japan.
Edit: On second thought, I guess there is a >1% chance of it doing 1/2 of Wii U's sales.

I'm curious about Link Between Worlds. Does anyone have that preorder tracker and how does it compare this far from launch vs. the DS Zeldas and OoT 3D?

Why did you want that edit? There isn't. XB1 will be lucky to match the original XBox LTD.

While I agree it's extremely unlikely I don't think there's a less than 1% chance that it'll sell half of the Wii U Japan LTD. Basically all I'm saying is that it'd be shocking (but not impossible) for the Xbox1 to do the 360's LTD if MS decided to care about Japan. We haven't really seen their strategy for the region and so it's not completely inconcievable that they make a big Japanese push.(This is pretty redundant though, for what it's worth i'd still give it less than 2% chance of happening but at that point I'm just being stupid with the percentages I use.)

More popular than Lightning at least
She's still popular
in my heart ;_;

Hmmm...let's not jump the gun.
I really doubt MS will change its stance towards the Japanese market this generation. They can moneyhat all the exclusives they can under the sun but it didn't work for the Xbox, it didn't work for the 360, and it certainly wouldnt help them with the Xbox one

It's pretty clear that Wii was anomaly on the Nintendo way to irrelevance on home console market.

That chart isn't very helpful. Take out the handhelds and make it only show the other consoles' first year of sales. U will be struggling still, but a chart comparing it to the DS life-to-date frankly is absurd. Edit: I see your point is about the Wii and not the Wii U. Sorry for misreading, but I don't think anyone questioned Wii's phenomenal sales as out of the ordinary.

Namco released some new screenshots for Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment.

There seems to be a fairly large amount of effort for an anime tie-in game, so I feel this could have some success.

Does anyone have the numbers of the sales of Wii U software? Like first week and LTD? I remember someone last week posting a link to their site that had stats, but I can't seem to find the link.

40% on Bravely Default doesn't seem too hot.
I mean yeah, I'm not expecting this to be a breakout, but it would've been nice.

Also RIP in Peace Treasure.

Today i went again to the main Bic Camera shop in Ikebukuro and now both versions of Dragon Quest X are sold out.

http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o763/hiska-kun/Mobile Uploads/image_zpse7a7675b.jpg

Sellthrough:

[PS3] Gran Turismo 6 - 30-40%
[WII] [WIU] Dragon Quest X - more than 80%
[3DS] Attack on Titan - 40-50%
[3DS] Bravely Default - 40%
[3DS] Inazuma Eleven Go 3 - 20%

[WIU] Mario & Sonic - 5%
[3DS] Gaist Crusher - bomba rabbids

Did Sega/Nintendo have ridiculous expectations for Mario & Sonic (at least at Bic camera)? Or did they have low expectations and it still sold miserably? I remember that the last Winter Mario & Sonic only opened at 19k on the Wii. I can't expect its mediocre sequel to do decently on the Wii U's much smaller install base.

Also, good to hear about Dragon Quest X. Hopefully it at least sells decently. Any idea whether it seemed like there was more stock for the initial Wii U release or for this expansion? Thanks.
