RE:R first?!

VERY slow week all around :( Though I guess RE:R has also been supplied constrained?

Can someone do those DS vs 3DS chartz? I guess 3DS has fallen quite below the curve?

#10
MH eventually couldn't go past MK7 going by MC numbers.

I wonder if it will eventually sell more than Dragon Quest: Monsters Joker at 1,458,149.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
#12
Yeah at Revelations ( much better than I was expecting ), MH3G... and Rhythm Thief, which doesn't drop so much :D

OH CRAP AT SOUL CALIBUR.

#16
I would have expected a lot more than 34k for SC5... what were SC4's first week numbers like?

At least Vita isn't dropping off from that 15-18k range.

#23
The ++:

  • Ragnarok doing decently for a PSV release (does that actually mean anything)
  • 3DS hardware is doing strong and the audiance needs that killer app
  • The triumvirate displays its staying power
The meh:

RE:R has had somehow big drop, it must grow some legs from now on
Vita could have done worse (yes Bla) but it could also have grown a bit with Ragnarök's release

The --:

  • Overall sales are kinda low
  • SoulCalibur V

Seeing as mk7 is likely to be the only 3ds Mario kart and will sell til the end of the generation there was no real chance of that happening, passing dqmj should be very doable I think probably by the summer, with its final numbers depending on wether there is a best release and when mh4 comes out

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

According to Famitsu MK7 sold less this week than MH. That's what he was referencing. That MH3 won't outsell the lifetime sales of MK7 is quite obvious. :p

Yay for RO, but it's Gravity Daze in which we trust to breath some vita back to Vita.
Yeah, not going to happen.

Respectable second week for RE:R. I Expected a bigger drop.

Also, Ragnarok Odyssey didn't do as well as I thought it would. I thought it would easily do 50k or so on week 1.

I meant, I compared both titles for this week only. Obviously, MK7 will sell more on the long run. Outselling DQ:MJ would be a great achivement for MH and I do hope it lifts itself past the 1.7 M bar which would encourage the Japanese hardcore industry at focusing on the 3DS market.

Okay. I guess there won't be a Soul Calibur VI.
If we greenlit fighting games based solely on Japan, we wouldn't have many anymore. :p

Or, to put it in the words of Inafune:

4G: As you said before, if a product has demand overseas, it has a great value.

KI: Yeah. That's exactly my specialty. For example, Street Fighter IV sold 200 thousand copies in Japan and 2.3 million overseas. Biohazard 5 sold 600 thousand copies in Japan and 5 million overseas.

This is a very poor showing for Japan, but that doesn't guarantee series death.

The major things I'm taking from this:

- JESUS CHRIST SOUL CALIBUR V. After seeing the opening sales for IV, this is ultra-bomba sales. Why the large drop off in sales? Japan tired of SC?

- Decent numbers for Ragnarok. What's the schedule looking like for Japan with Vita?

- ToIR dropped off but what does the previous charts say for the older Tales series? Isn't this right around normal sale rate or worse?

- Damnit PS2! Die already!

#47
SCV looks like a true bomba. those are some niche fighting game numbers.

make a new sould edge or soul calibur 1 and i might bite for the next entry, not any sooner.

Revelations soldout the first shipment, now, looking at sell-through % of last week.
Wait for the second one, I guess.
It's continuing to "triple" Mercenaries numbers, so I think it could end around 300K LTD in the next months.

Baaaaad debut for SCV, really bad.

Good start for Ragnarok for the franchise, also if generally speaking it's just a small software in terms of "HW support" for Vita. Also ToI R is going to sell a little amount of copies not being able to "help" Sony's HW.

But at least Vita is performing bettere than PSP in 2012, so I think that at least is a good sign for Sony, in the long terms.

The "triade" for 3DS is really impressive. As the HW numbers for Nintendo handheld.

Rhythm Thief hanging on with another decent week, I think that 70K are a bet sure. And Inazuma Go is another title hanging very well in the long period, we can say that the 400K mark is around the corner.
