Seems it sold another 24K since the last time we got the game LTD from Famitsu (roughly 25% of those missing sales were obtained the past week).
*shocked Mii face*

This series is like the Run For Money series in being software cockroaches.

LMAO at that difference.
Most like Famitsu is correcting the last year tracking to fit MC.

Any explanation on why people keep buying Ps4s especially with switch so close? No game seems to be lighting up the charts.

Seems like all the bashing and hatred against FFXV has been fruitless :) Quality always prevails in the end and it's great to see that the title recovered so quickly. I imagine SE must be happy with the results considering the marketing and production budgets should be back in their bank very soon with this kind of sales performance. Nothing can stop the #RoadTo1M train anymore and after that is said and done, I can't see why they shouldn't announce the next manifestation of FF very soon.

I think all the predictions about the brand losing its power were always kinda hyperbole and in the end both gamers and SE can be very happy not only about FFXV itself but also that it managed to make a big enough splash that might revive the glorious days of JRPG extravaganza on dedicated videogame machines/PS4.

I imagine Tabata is very happy with FFXV selling better in its 5th week than the already strong FFXIII - at least this is what I love to think when thinking about Tabata walking through the Square Enix headquarter hallways with his trusty dust mop

Switch isn't unveiled officially by Nintendo yet (all we got is a teaser).
I doubt it's a factor in the purchase behaviour at the moment.

Yeah it probably won't have any effect until it releases and then it depends on how strong the system is on the marketplace. It could completely flop.

Doesn't play as well when it's always the same slant.

Also thanks for the replies everyone. So variety is key. Hope it keeps selling decently so we keep getting Japanese games in NA.

LOL. Back in their glory days, Squaresoft was cranking out a new mainline Final Fantasy game every 1-2 years, interspersed with 2-3 other great JRPGs between each one. Same is true of Enix w/Dragon Quest.

Plus Konami, Capcom, Sega, Game Arts, tri-Ace all had some prolific JRPG output.

I'm happy that XV is selling well too. But it is a pretty damn huge stretch to go from "XV might equal or exceed XIII's sales" to "OMG IT'S THE SECOND GOLDEN AGE"

3DS is the only system with that kind of differences at hw and sw. Media Create must have made adjustments for it since this is the final week of the year for them.

Drop not as hard as I thought for some games, but yeah, that's a post-christmas week...

Any explanation on why people keep buying Ps4s especially with switch so close? No game seems to be lighting up the charts.

The PS4 has a sizable library of games with a fairly strong lineup of games coming this year with lots of variety.

Nintendo hasnt started its barrage of first party exclusive announcements yet, we barely know anything about it.

Doesn't Famitsu have the Pokémon Sun/Moon double pack counted as two games?
Helps explain some of the disparity.

Japan desperately needs an injection of a new system. Lowest sales since 1987, based on a graph in another thread floating around here. Thank God Switch is coming out, that oughta help!
