amazing ds sales!

- so that makes over 2 million games sold on ds based on new ips!
625k nintendogs
400k brain training
340k gentle brain exercises
210k jump super stars
170k band bros
110k another code
100k polarium
100k feel the magic
40k meteos
total ~ 2,100,000

- interesting brain training and gentle brain exercise figures, seems to indicate they are selling to more traditional gamers now.

- there will probably be an online sequel to jump super stars for ds next year, and possibly an online version for revolution

I guess the DS was a really great manuever for the DS in Japan. :D

Although, I'm a bit disappointed that Full Metal Alchemist for the DS sold so poorly. Especially taking into consideration that the game kicks serious ass. Oh well, I'm waiting on Bandai to answer my questions about a NA release (I should be getting a response soon).

Something just occured to me...

Didn't Nintendogs release with Golden Week in favor of it? If so, that makes these sales more impressive.

Yeah I wouldn't be to suprised if Jump Super Stars ends up selling around 600k total.

Here is the DS LTD number using the rounded off numbers of this weeks. It looks to pass 3m by early September.

DS LTD Sales - 2,834,023

Oh and Nintendogs got released a week or two before the Golden Week. So that probably helped it stay in the top 10 for that much longer

I can't beleive the sales of the brain training games. It's staggering. It looks like there really is interest for games outside that think outside the box. Or "non games" as some of you would put it.

I'm not sure how well anyone expected Full Metal Alchemist to sell on the DS though. I mean, Full Metal Alchemist 3: Kami o Tsugu Shoujo (Square-Enix) for the PS2 only sold 46,954 through July 31/05 (Famitsu). Even going back to 2004, Fullmetal Alchemist: Meisou no Rondo (Bandai) for the GBA sold 135,637, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Akaki Elixir no Akuma (Square-Enix) for the PS2 sold 135,361 through all of 2004.

So, anyone expecting big sales for a FMA game on the DS was deluding themselves. The series hasn't put up huge numbers on the PS2 or GBA lately, so it wasn't going to happen on the DS either.

Don't they usually come out after 4 PM? Or was it 5 PM EST?
If you mean from MC's site then it's usually 9-9:30pm EST but last week it was late.

I have a feeling they'll be delayed again this week since Gpara hasn't posted the rounded off numbers yet.

WTF, Grandia III dropped to 9th with only 27k sold in its second week? It'll barely break 200k at this pace...

That's sooo disappointing, and I really hope it doesn't affect a possible domestic release.

It's official. Nintendo owns Japan. Sony has no chance of coming back, especially since Pokemon isn't even out yet!

Nintendogs comes out in NA. We saw what it did for Japan. Will it do the same there? :)
