My aunt & uncle run a Mom & Pop store, "The Gamecube Hut", and sold 80k WiiU within minutes of opening.
Wow. I predicted norht of 400k in sales. First day. And it sold less than 50?

Wow... just wow.

Wii's first Million seller. :lol Un-****ing real that it only took this long. Man it really goes to show just how big a failure the Gamecube was. Almost the same install base as the N64, and ONE damn Million seller in 5 years. Wii? Oh first million seller in a couple months.

Unreal.

These are highly disapointing numbers. Nothing passed 50K. Not a wii game, not a PS3 game, not a PS2 game -- not even an NDS game.

Isn't the PS3 install base currently around 600k? With that number, 48k isn't too hot...

Ironically Super Smash Bros. Melee became a million seller when VF4 launched.

Yeah, 8% of the install base buying it (Assuming roughly 600,000 PS3s sold in Japan) is not exactly the monster they needed. Marioland confirmed.

I know it gets said every week in ever MC thread, but looking at no. 10-30 really brings home how utterly dominant the DS is. There's going to be chaos when DQ is released.

yup.. it's a shame. but it has been in the arcades there for a while so there is much less incentive to bring it home.

still, with such piss-poor software offerings so far you'd think at least 1/6 of the install base would be chomping at the bit for a quality title. i have no clue why these people were even early adopters.

It's a great console? How do you know? Consoles are defined in quality ONLY by their games. To claim any different is to admit you're not really into gaming.

Just seen all the links in the first post. Good god, cheese - dare I say that this Media Create OP looks... professional? well done!


Kinda anti-climactic though - 26 of the Top 30 is Nintendo - DS continues to dominate (with the help of Wii).

Yeah, the 'just wait until VF5 hits!' thing?... that didn't work out too well so far - I don't believe we'll see any kind of spike of Sony hardware because of VF5 sales. I mean, if 600k already have one, surely there must be around 50k who wanted this game anyway, right? It'll be around 20k again (although with the week being so slow, it could be < 20k).

Is it really worth celebrating snagging the top spot by just under 5000 sales? If VF5 can stay on top for a couple of weeks, sure. And we haven't even seen the hardware numbers yet, but going by < 50k for VF5 they can't be that much higher.

And yeah, I know you're being sarcastic, but still. :D

That just shows what jarrod and numerous other posters have been saying the last few weeks. That being Virtua Fighter 5 was not going to be a big seller for the PS3.

Glad to see Wii Sports pass 1 million in Japan. It passed one million in the U.S. by the end of December. ;)

Poor, poor Brain Training 2. It's dropped half it's weekly sales in a year. Just think how low it'll be next year. It might even be in the 20s. :eek:
