Well really Zero's Buster and X's Final X Buster are a bit different.
Wow.
Mega Man X has to be the most shitted on series ever.
I can't think of anything else that has taken such an incredible quality dive. Going sequentially from MMX to MMX7 is just... unbelievable. Now this. It's like they're trying to make nobody care about the series.
In the SNES version ? No, they are exactly the same thing.
They are entirely different in MHX, though.
Zero's Buster is better, IIRC
I'm not so sure an iPhone game can "bomb".I hope this bombs after what they did with Megaman Legends 3.
I was talking about MHX. Haven't even played X since MHX launched. To me there is no need to go back.
The only thing MHX has over the original is Vile mode.

I would buy it for 5 bucks on the 3DS eShop, or on something else with buttons. Maybe even 6 or 7 bucks.
Other than the fact that the original version has better graphics, better music, better level designs in the Sigma stages, more sensible locations of the parts upgrades, and a bigger viewing area (they chopped off the top and bottom in the PSP version rather than extending the view on the sides)?
Well I disagree on anything you listed, except for Graphics, X 3D in game model is very weird but outside of that I loved the music, and the majority of changes.
The View thing never gave me a single issue.
I really liked Maverick Hunter X, but I didn't find it as amazing as the original...
I thought hard mode was a nifty addition. However, controlling X felt off for some reason, and Vile was novel yet not as fun. I wonder how much of this could be attributed to the PSP's controls or the design of the actual game. The soundtrack remixes were hit-or-miss, so it would've been nice to be able to switch back to the original tunes. (And any sort of music option would've been appreciated with Vile.) I don't really have an opinion on the revamped placement of items and certain stage layouts since I appreciate MHX as its own entity. Sometimes the graphics were a bit busy but nothing too major. Thinking about how Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles handled its content just makes MHX seem a bit lazy in comparison, though.
This iOS thing looks like it'll be an abomination, but at the very least it means Capcom is still aware of the series. =\
I'm getting a headache just imagining playing this.Virtual d-pads can suck a nut. No thanks.
As soon as I read the title I knew what 80% of the posts in this thread would be about.
I'm not so sure an iPhone game can "bomb".
tbqh the sprites don't look redrawn, more like filtered.
Honestly, if I didn't give a shit about Mega Man or the fanbase anymore and had an oldass mobile version from 2007 sitting around I'd release it for the iPhone too.
edit: nevermind, the 2007 mobile port had better graphics.

Should have just released the superior PSP version of Maverick Hunter X.
I honestly don't see the problem with this. I grew up playing MM games, starting with MM1 when it first released on NES. Outside of the controls possibly being rough to adjust to, the game doesn't look bad...
