Obligatory "Hayter Confirmed!"

Just finished Snake Eater HD and was thinking, if a Boss Normandy flashback does happen in TPP, how would it be set up? Thematically, I think it could fit as the story is dealing with what soldiers lose in war, as stated on the Metal Gear wiki:

Kojima set out to depict the damage present in all returning soldiers in The Phantom Pain. Physical injuries such as the loss of limbs, and emotional wounds created through the loss of comrades and loved ones will all be part of this theme of pain. Kojima said that having his characters lose limbs is one way to depict the pain they carry.

Could we see The Boss giving birth during the Normandy operation then having her child taken from her? Is a flashback more probable than a full on Boss game for MGS6?

I like your thinking.

Why are you spoilertagging that?

Anyway, if Kojima does that it's going to be the bomb removal scene all over again.

I always found it kind of ridiculous that they would send a pregnant woman, probably near her term, to Normandy, even if it is The Boss.

That's the thing, she's THE BOSS, there was no one else that could command The Cobras

I get it, she was one of a kind and the situation was dire (D-Day), but the Cobra unit was full of skilled supermen, it's not like she couldn't instruct them from a remote location, like Major Zero does in the Snake Eater mission. I mean, what did she or the top brass think was going to happen, that her full on pregnancy wouldn't jeopardize the mission at all? She got shot in the gut and had to have a pretty brutal caesarian section, yet the Cobra unit somehow successfully completed the mission anyway while it looks like The Boss ended up being a liability in regards to the mission. Hell, just finding out she was pregnant made her blunder the Manhattan Project assassination, this baby certainly meant a lot to her and these emotions would certainly influence her judgement in any mission, just like it did once.

I like the whole born on the battlefield Conan thing Ocelot got but I still find it pretty silly, although this is MGS after all.

If they'd just sent in the invisible, double-jointed spider-man; the 100 year old wood elemental; the pyromaniac cosmonaut; the psychic; and the man who fires bees from his mouth, I probably would've found it less ridiculous too.

I always thought the order to enter battle came from The Philosophers to ensure they could take li'l Adamska away in all the confusion and essentially control the future through The Boss's bloodline.
Something that actually happens.

Maybe I'm confusing The Philosopher's intentions with The Patriots though. We don't know much about The Philosophers.

I so fucking desperately want to buy the metal gear figure its not even funny

I mean what is sixty bucks

NOTHING

Seems like he's saying his team starts out with a impossible task and has succeeded.

I guess his new IP is about to blow our minds?

So that means he's done with MGSV and focus is now on polishing the game? that would be freakin awesome but i doubt that since just a few days ago he posted new mo-cap pictures. I'd think he wouldn't start anything new before Metal Gear Solid V is not done. Or we see this game coming out sooner than we might have thought.

Edit: but what if Kojima tries to trick us by posting this OLD (?) mo-cap pics because this for example almost must be the GZ ending scene. At least it looks very similiar to it.

He let everyone think oh they're still doing motion capture but in the reality they are done and the game comes out sooner than we think.

I want to believe.

This pic is also weird, it's clearly from the E3 2014 trailer.

I mean in his tweets he said “Finished today’s Mo-cap shooting.” but the question is can we believe him? or maybe he just wanted to show his mo-cap guys the new trailer, idk.

The whole "We are Diamond Dogs" scene seems to be much longer than what we've seen in that trailer so I am sure he was probably finishing the mo-cap for the rest of the scene. The only reason he showed that part of the scene in his tweet was to probably refrain from showing spoilers.

The heck is he talking about? O_o

Edit:

New project?

It sounds like a lot of non-believers within his development team. Questioning some of the design (his vision) and what not. When he pitches a new idea, it's met with criticism since they can't fully understand and appreciate what it means and therefore don't want it.

Or maybe he's trolling.

Who is that attacking
the motherbase at the end of GZ? Is it Skullface's crew or have I just put departing helicopter and attacking helicopter together, and come up with 5?

As far as I understood:

- You are supposed to rescue Paz and Chico, but it is a setup by Skullface
- While this is happening, Kaz is hiding the Metal Gear at the bottom of the sea and all the other stuff that might tell people about Mother Base's true nature leaving it without defense
- You rescue them both
- While you are on your way back, Skullface's crew fucks up your entire base and it is revealed that they used Paz to kill Big Boss and Kaz

I think this is also something related to his duality as creator and producer. As a creator he longs for new challenges, new ways to express himself while as a producer he has to take as few risks as possible for the success of the project. Look at MGS2, he went his own way and many fans have been disappointed by that.

It must be really difficult to be in his shoes...

I wonder if it has something to do with his "SUPER CONFIDENTIAL PROJECT".

I remember Kojima saying MGSV will have something that no other game has ever done before.

Good point. Was just thinking about that, myself. I'm sure this game will have a revolutionary feature -- just wonder what it could possibly be!

That's what he's probably talking about. Whatever that project is, it might be the Epilogue to MGSV: The Phantom Pain.

I don't claim to speak Kojima (or rather, Ayakko vis a vis Kojima), but here's my take:

As he states in the bottom, the biggest critics are sometimes found inside his own team rather than outside (this probably has to do with fans/press falling in love with a concept rather than staff dreading implementation). That being said, whoever said that about Boktai was probably on point, very difficult to play GBA titles outside.

The top part is just generally speaking about how you have this idea in your head for a new title, but you never know how it's going to look in implementation, and you mostly just have to trust yourself that you know what you are doing.

I wouldn't take these Tweets as anything other than his semi-usual remarks about difficulties in development.

So now in all done with my fullish MGS playthrough.

Did the entire HD collection (I had already played 2 and 3 in high school, but that was so long ago I recalled barely anything)

Also did the Twin Snakes in high school and loved it then. But again, couldn't recall much.

Damn, I had a good time. 2 was frustrating and the gameplay wasn't all that inviting. But 3, man, that game doesn't fuck around. Love 3. Looks great, plays great, great story that doesn't get wacky like 2, and the ending is man tear heaven.

I then played 4 for the first time, and I loved the hell out of it. Certain story issues bothered me, and Naomi was useless, but I dug it. All of the callbacks were great and definitely served to end the series definitively. Hell, even Big Boss came back in an appearance that made zero sense, but still gave you feels.

Peace Walker was just fun. The Mother Base part was addicting, and the short missions we quick and to the point. Stealth was a joke sure, but it was still fun. They are all deaf too cause they couldn't hear my CQC slams. Story got a little wacky again with Paz always being in her underwear for no reason., but whatever. I've learned to disregard when MGS gets dumb.

I'm gonna replay Ground Zeroes (which started this whole thing off, even though of course I was completely lost in terms of the story), and then I'm done.

I'm insanely hyped for MGSVPP.

I need to start digging through the wiki cause I'm confused on a lot of stuff, mostly cause it makes little sense, but that's ok. Barely anything from MG1 and 2 make sense now but those will probably be remade or something.

Edit: on my phone so excuse typos
