i am so in love with everything about this

imagine the VR

omfg
I’m hoping this supports Track IR. Unfortunately VR makes me sick.

Game does look beyond incredible, I’m looking forward to becoming an (uncertified) Cessna pilot. One thing I’m curious about is how ATC will work.

ATC could be some next level AI that feels like you're communicating with an actual person

i mean they've gone this far already, i don't think they're done blowing our minds just yet

This game is gonna be a bigger hit than people realize.

For mainstreamers as well. But can you just imagine how good this looks and feels for any current or future pilot out there? Ive seen pilot simulators in Dubai which are too of the line and this looks miles better. Fuck it, im gonna go apply for a pilot licence :D

Absolutely, but you just know how many people are going to throw the remote at their screen when they work out how hard it is to land a plane lol

When I was 18 I was accepted at Embry Riddle and was really close to going there, wish I could go back in time and do it all over again. This game will probably be the closest I get to being a pilot.

So many hours playing flight sim 2004 and fsx as a kid whilst my classmates we’re wasting time socialising and losing their virginity. Can’t wait for this.

Bodes well for Microsoft to say the least.

Just thinking about taking a helicopter or small plane through mountains and the grand canyon sells me on this. I'm not the kinda person that's usually interested in these. The scale they are going for is mind blowing.

I won't be really turned on by fight simulator until you can make your own pilot, get through airport customs and various other real life processes, get put up in hotels by your airline, level up various things... Meet and talk to passengers, visit shops, museums, whatever in future you visit... in short,i am waiting for them to make an RPG out of this without dropping any of the realism.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Obviously there have been lots of good flight sims over the years, but MS Flight Sim always seemed like the standard bearer going way back. Which makes MS' decision to abandon that entire community for no good reason bizarre. Especially when they kicked a group of insanely dedicated and hardcore people out so they could cater to grandmas to waving their hands in front of a camera.

What they've done with this is mindboggling, the level of detail across seemingly the entire planet is incredible. MS could use this technology for a future Forza World where you could drive anywhere on the planet!

Ye I thought about that a lot too.

They can generate ridiculously detailed ground assets already. This tech could be a foundation to be utilized in ways we could only dream about until now.

I have to wonder if this is going to be a permanent foundation for flight sims?

I mean, how much better can it honestly get? Satellite data is being utilized, the entire planet is modeled to a level of fidelity never seen before, and the sim, at its absolute best, is not that far from photo realism. Usually every ten years+ or so a whole new groundwork is laid, but with this I really don’t see the point that any technological leap will bring that would make it worth the effort over continual refinement.

This is so impressive I don’t see this aging poorly, and with all the inevitable third party improvements over the coming years, I’d be content with this for a long, long time. The wait for this is proving to be very trying.

It looks out of this world but I'd imagine learning Chinese would be a simpler task for me. Are they full on hardcore sims?

It will be available on xbox one and series x so there should be plenty of assist options to make it playable with a gamepad.
