Well here's Switches August game.

I wonder if they are making progress for stock? Anyways I hope it comes state side, would be nice to try the series with better controls

Everyone from Australia, and any European country that's not the UK, Germany, France, or Spain send your Switches straight to Japan, they are starving!

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

By the time of release Nintendos online app and Co. should be ready... Actually this should all be in place for Splatoon 2 already. So I hope the online experience will be more streamlined on Switch compared to 3DS.

I can see a western release for this year... But this depends on what else Nintendo has in store for the second half of the year.. If Pokemon is real and they really wanna launch Xenoblade2, Zelda DLC, FE Warriors and Skyrim this year... I can see MHGG be a February/March 3DS/Switch release instead

if we dont get a release date in the west at E3 this will be my first switch import.
I'd be tempted. I'll probably pick up a switch for Splatoon 2 since I need one for this, but Capcom is very unpredictable with turnaround times on MH localization.

If Nintendo actually has Pokemon Stars and Smash Bros. ready for this year, then boy oh boy....
At this point Stars and Smash hitting this year would be overkill. Switch is already going to be out of stock for the remainder of the year in Japan, possibly everywhere.

Nintendo should save Stars and Smash for Q1 and Summer of next year, respectively.

Who's to say they haven't been working on localizing the 3DS version that the Switch version wouldn't be localized at the same time?

I believe this is coming closer to the US than we think.

Just came to the realization that there's a chance it might not be 60fps in order to maintain compatibility with the 3DS version

HOT TAKE ALERT. this looks like a straight port of the 3ds version and with cross play confirmed likely means that nothing will be added to this version. So essentially we are looking at better performance and controls from this port and that's literally It. pretty disappointing imo Japanese folks will eat this up regardless

EDIT

or simply better resolution without frame bump to keep parity with 3ds.

I'm holding out hope for a simultaneous WW release in August, leaving that kids' game for Christmas.

...It's called MHXX Switch version. It wasn't going to have exclusive features.

what about MH4U with o3ds and n3ds? N3ds had better framerate, textures, smoother online than o3ds. Though it is a different situation here with 2 different hardware.

Anyone expecting more is an idiot honestly.

I will enjoy nonetheless since it's been too long that I've full on gone into an MH game.

Only thing that convices me would a new retooled mh designed to be played on a home console(including switch) that at least takes some cues from dragons dogma where the combat precision doesnt feel like such a crapshoot

Hmmm, I'm curious if the Switch being region free will let me transfer my save file from X. I'd like to play this in English on Switch, but I have a Japanese 3DS with X, I wonder what the chances of being able to transfer that over would be?

What? The combat in Monster Hunter is purposeful and precise.

Does anyone know how different XX is from X in terms of story/dialogue? Would there be a considerable amount of work needed to localize it? A global launch could be cool
