Huh? Is this chubby young sub zero vs lean old sub zero? They look so different.
I don't like how inconsistent they are with Sub Zero's face design. He was eartern looking in MK2 and then he became a white guy in MK3 and Deadly Alliance and then back to eastern again. So weird.

I like the fact that you can customize a ton of parts of your fighter but as some have already mentioned, you dont just go and change an iconic color palette. All this customization is making the characters lose their identity. At least show me the whole roster first and what you as a developer think is the original design for MK11. Afterwards show us all the customizing options and what variations we make. They made the gameplay and character reveal with the customization on the same day. I actually am not even sure what is the ORIGINAL MK11 Scorpion anymore as Ive seen 3 variations so far. Why confuse us and who wants to see a damn white Scorpion!!!??? Green and purple Sub-Zero...whiskey.tango.foxtrot

I thought it was just me. He seemingly never has a consistent face. People say Lara Croft faces keep changing. I think Sub Zero got her beat lol.

Looks like that classic Netherrealm animation jank is still in there but this time in a super inconsistent way. At times It´s like there´s no wind-up or heft to the attack at all. When a character does a low sweep they just stick their leg out and spin 360 degrees at uniform speed before resetting to a neutral pose, but at the same time they have all these cinematic attacks now that look fantastic.

The attack animations keep alternating between terrible and great and it feels like I´m watching two different games at once or something. At the end of the day though I´m just happy to finally be looking at a new MK and am curious to see what they do with the rest of the roster.

BTW: Is it confirmed that they removed Subzero ice clone?

It looks like everyone aged, haven't been following the story (hell I hardly read game plots to begin with in any game anymore -_-), but MK doesn't seem consistent.
I think I got traumatized also by too much plastic shiny during the UE3 engine generation, while detailed still not a fan of how the outfit looks.
Overall and while in motion the models do look great, is this an improved engine from Injustice and the lot?

That moderating sure is an easy job. JUST BAN EVERYONE. Ban people that even post a reply, any reply, ban em all :messenger_tears_of_joy:
I'll only say this, the moment you can have A or a better conversation on N4G you know it's all over.

They're giving so much attention to Scorpion in comparison with others chars...
I think it's expected at this point. He's the poster child of the franchise. MKX had very little to do with Scorpion and yet he's on the cover and the first trailer was him killing Sub-Zero. He's also in every Collector's Edition.

So what did they get rid of from x, so far I see there's no more combo breakers ,there's no more running, what else did they take out?
Running is the only thing thats taken out. Its reverted back to dash like in MK9. Everything else has been built upon and is more in depth than MKX.

Combo Breakers
MKX: Use 2 bars of the universal meter to break out of a combo.
MK11: Use 2 bars of your Defense meter to breakaway from a juggle combo. Use 1 bar of your Defense meter and 1 bar of your Offense meter to launch a wake up attack.

Amplified Moves
MKX: Use 1 bar of your universal meter by holding a shoulder button while performing a special move.
MK11: Use 1 bar of your Offense meter to amplify a move by using a longer input scheme altogether.

X-Ray
MKX: Use 3 bars of your universal meter.
MK11: Comprised of two forms: Krushing Blows and Fatal Blows. Krushing Blows are activated by fulfilling certain criteria with certain moves, such as launching scorpion's spear from long range as opposed to short or mid range. The result varies depending on the move and can inflict more damage, bounce an opponent for combos, inflict poison status for a period of time, and possibly more. Each Krushing Blow can be used only once per match. Fatal Blows can be activated only when you are 30% health or less and can be used only once per game. If your fatal blow is blocked, you can try again after a 5 second cooldown or wait until you get to critical health on the next round

MK11: Hold a button to block and take chip damage. Press the block button just as an attack connects to perform a flawless block which results in reduced chip damage.

Variations

Also for distorting facts and call someone a 'terrible person' while in truth she could just be 'ignorant' for posting what she posted.

I don't really know how to feel so far. Everything seems so... Diluted? Here's Sub Zero, but he looks nothing like sub zero in his face, and half the time his attire is white, which sort of gives me Smoke vibes instead. There's MK11 Cassie (I think it's her), but she almost looks older than MKX Sonya, and I wold have thought it 'was' MK11 Sonya, if MK11 Sonya hadn't been made to look even older than MKX Sonya. The customization looks limited, from what I've been able to see. We can't have a Hanzo edit for Scorpion because all variations wear a mask, and we can't take it off? Is that correct? Can we color individual pieces, or is it just color swatches that NRS pre-decide upon? Why's one of them Scorpion in blue, or Scorpion on Brazilian flag colors etc?

So whats this rumor regarding tag mode? Some comment made during the reptile leak mentioned tagging in fighters.

Tge comment kinda sounded like it was just part of a move rather than any confirmation of full blown tag team mode.

Looks like the customization even extends to victory poses, fatalities, and brutalities. In MKX, as DLC kept pouring out, some characters got more than 2 fatalities and more than 1 victory pose. So it makes sense to let the player choose this time, regardless of costume.




Is any reason to Raiden have a red lightning? He still corrupted or something?
He has basically gone full George Dubya. He knows Outworld (which is ruled by Kotal Kahn) and Nethrealm (ruled by Liu Kang and Kitana) could pose a threat to Earthrealm so he has decided to kill them first, despite the fact that they haven't actually initiated anything. So Raiden is launching a preemptive strike it looks like. And potentially even a false flag on Earthrealm. So yeah, you could say he is corrupted for someone who is supposed to be the moral compass of the characters.

I think it's for towers only. The Reptile leak was talking about getting his acid ball power up during a Tower

Really hope 2vs2 is back in.

Few things I forgot about MK compared to Injustice. Little disappointed to have a block button again instead of simply pressing back. The character select screen isn't as good (showing the characters punch each other in the menu of Injustice 2 was great little hype build up).

My main concern is the character variations. It's a choice between missing out on your favourite moves or having a custom set.. but how is that fair when playing against local players etc.

Neverrealms wouldn't comment on the microtransactions and how the gems work in competitive play which is wrong IMO when selling the game early as pre orders.

Still alot to be excited for.. but cautiously so. Oh and replaying X now... Sonya has an "ugly" face in that as well lol.

Yeah. Thx for the sumary. Still don't know if red lightning suits Raiden well, but if is plot related no problem.
