It's Cassie. That shot is from footage in the behind the scenes video. Whether or not she is going to be playable has yet to be confirmed but it did seem to be one of those pre-fight dialogue sequences, so chances are good.

Lol of course they coveres up the females and made them ugly. Funny, in MK 9 they still dared to give them sexier designs but their ugly 3D models made them look bad... Now they have vastly improved the visuals but they no longer dare using the old designs
other than that looks great. Still hoping we see the return of Smoke, it was the one character I learned to use well in mK9 and his absence in 10 was a big reason why I didn't pick it up

Whats the best way to learn MK combo's? i have MK10 XL but i just cant get into it
MK9 or Injustice 2. The kombo system is similar in all recent NRS games.

All of the dudes look fucking awesome. The redesigns of Scorpion, Shao Kahn, Raiden and Baraka all look fucking amazing but still distinctly call back to their past designs. Skarlet and Sonya are boring af.

Her Shaolin Monks CG model was at least one occasion where they were clearly modeling her face after Cynthia Rothrock.
I don't think even most older folk would recognize her either. Only kung fu and B-movie fans know.

Ed Boon looked so happy on stage during the event. Loved it. Could tell it's still a passion for him.
The blood effects made it, for me.
Rousey as Sonya will be great, in my opinion. Not just due to my total crush on Rousey, of course.
I imagine the reduced boob size, and altered face are due to them trying to "morph" her more into Rousey. Though I agree the face is a bit iffy. Hopefully that gets touched up before release.

Im gonna hold off on judging their female design choices untill we get a full roster reveal. Sonya even in MKX was covered up as a soldier so MK11 one is no surprise to me. But if they really go with covering up most of them because of some political correctness...I mean i cant accept it because on the other spectrum you are advertising the most brutal dismemberment of character with full on blood but visible cleavage which by the way is still a normal and comon sight on todays streets/clubs etc. Im not asking for them to give me a topless fighter, but I want a female to be a hot assassin, not some reality butch boy. If it really was a problem then we wouldn't have Victoria Secret models, all the front page fashion mag girls would be overweight etc. So, its just being affected at gaming for some reason. Whats wrong with showing off a good looking female?

I'm 99.9% sure there will be "Klassic Kostumes" available.
But at the same time, given how far they're able to go now with the violence and gore, it might be an incredibly wise decision to tone down the sexualization. As a kind of balancing act, and to avoid having an even larger target painted on itself.

This franchise has always had a target on it. The original MK was instrumental in the creation of the ESRB, but no one gives a shit about the level of violence in the game anymore. It's marketed and sold to (primarily) people mature enough to handle this level of fantastical violence. Now some skin is off limits? Give me a break.

I was worried that the Krushing Blows would be annoying animations that we have to watch ad nauseam over and over over again. Like a bunch of mini xray moves whose novelty wear off quickly. But there's more nuance than I thought.
- Every character has multiple krushing blows.
- Every krushing blow can only be used once per game across all rounds, similar to the fatal blow.
- The krushing blow is not tied to meter. Instead, you have to fulfill certain criteria and the animation will trigger automatically. For example, Scorpion GET OVER HERE spear from short and mid ranges will just be normal. But a fullscreen spear will trigger the animation.
- So is it just an animation? No. Different krushing blows have different attributes: damage multiplier, poison drain, bounce your opponent for combo followup, e.t.c.
- If you DONT want the krushing blow animation to trigger automatically, you can even configure the options to where you have to hold whatever attack button will trigger it in order to do it.

Not really sold on MK11. Sonya doesn't look great, neither does Cassie, she confirmed to be alive. Hopefully, this isn't a sign of where they're going for with their female characters. Visually everything is a step up from the last. If anything right now, I'm playing this just for the story.

I think MK is one of those games that I've never paid much attention to the "sexy ladies" like you do in SF or DOA. MK has always been about gore and combos for me and secrets. I didn't even know this was an on-going complaint from people.
All I remember is old GAF making a big deal about gore porn or whatever and how the series went too far with the gore. I thought the complaints were weird then. Hopefully this game doubles down on the gore overall.
