MS/343I are damaging Halo name with MCC.

I don't remember a halo game launched with these kind of bugs/glitches/freezes. Matchmaking not working for over a week. They don't even know how to make a fucking party lobby. Every other Halo game released were polished except this mess. There's NO FUCKING WAY they didn't know about these problem yet they release it

New players probably traded this for other games. It is sad. Instead of expanding the halo fanbase they probably turned people away from it.

I had faith in 343i but after this release, they should hand it over to other studio and go make some indie games.

Wasn't 343 created by former Retro Studios guys that worked on Prime? I remember that vaguely and maybe that's what makes me have any kind of faith left in them.

That was Armature.

343 is a mix of Microsoft's internal staff, Bungie vets, a bunch of Pandemic Los Angeles vets in senior positions, and then a bunch of others hired over the years to my knowledge.

Eh, as others have said...Halo 4. A lot of people were already starting to get burnt out on the series. Halo 4 wasn't great (and kind of killed off any momentum they had). And yeah, this isn't doing the series any favor.

I'm so disappointed. I'm just glad MS gave me a refund so I could get another game that...works.

I was stoked to get into the franchise with the mcc collection. After the shitty match making and buggy single player I doubt I ever will

Or just play the 360 ones

I talked SIX(!) co-workers into buying 3DS systems when Smash Bros came out - we all had an absolute blast.

I like my PS4 a lot more than my Xbox One - but there's no denying that Halo goodness. Two friends were going to buy the system just to play the game, and now there's no way they'll even consider the console.

Two other friends traded in the game days later.

One managed to get a digital refund.

Very disappointing.

I mean - when it works - it's absolutely awesome. BTB on Halo CE and Halo 2 is phenomenal - I'm screaming and yelling and just having a great time. But the waits just aren't worth it.

Unfortunate, because it's a great deal - there's a lot of great content. And 60fps/1080p is incredible.

They really did shoot themselves in the foot here. Pre-release, the optimism was palpable. MCC was a chance for them to hit the ground running on the Xbone and lead it up to the H5 beta and eventual retail release. Then those H5 leaks got people worried. And then the MCC launched. So many people I know ended up disappointed again, it's heartbreaking.

Meh. If the next update fixes most of the issues it won't leave the Top 5 most played on Live for the rest of the generation. Halo brand is just fine.

That "redeem" thread is pretty funny now.

But meh, it's Halo. It has a dedicated fanbase and they have the beta near Christmas to draw people back in.

Halo 4 dropped out of the top 10 in like 2 months and sold near 10m copies. MCC at most will get 1/4 of that. You're delusional if you think a collections of up-ports is staying in the top 5 for anything more than half a year.
They also stopped doing live charts since X1 launch

MCC and that godawful Halo TV series will drain a lot of excitement for Halo 5 and a potential Halo movie.

The window of "caring" has closed.

MCC might be the most frustrating release of recent memory. What should have been a nice stroll down memory lane has, in my opinion, backfired.

And, of course, Halo 4.

I never played it but from what I hear they damaged it pretty good with Halo 4 anyway.

I think they have begun to oversaturate the market with the Halo name with all the TV show / movie stuff, halo wars, halo this halo that. Eventually people will start shrugging their shoulders at the whole thing especially if the quality of the main product is low.

I am pretty angry/disappointed at how MCC has shipped. This is my favorite franchise and it's like 343 is looking for new ways to drive it into the ground.

Though I do agree that the campaign bugs are pretty upsetting. MP is almost a given to be broken in games these days at launch...we can work with that. But these SP bugs are just...it's easy to feel cheated.

How can 343 possibly make indie games? They're own by MS.

Small budget game /= Indie. Indie is short for independent. Sorry for being OT just annoys me when people say something like Pacman on XBLA or Rain on PSN is "indie".

Anyway, yeah this is super disappointing. I got a refund from MS for it and was thinking about picking up a disc later but eh there's other games out so I'll wait for a sale.

As someone who came into this game thinking it would be his GOTY, go do something else. It's worked for me. Haven't thought about it since the weekend.

It wont be in the top 5 at all for the rest of this gen. You know how many games come out? COD will probably take multiple slots alone like it did with 360 last gen. Halo is not what it used to be.

I liked Halo 4. The maps weren't great but I enjoyed it a good amount.
It was a technical marvel when it came out and still holds up pretty well.

But yeah, this is pretty stupid that it's been a week and the game isn't working. and it's obvious that they knew of these problems going in.

I hope there's some backlash b/c I got this for mutli and co- op and that's not even working.
