This picture was taken a bit ago, I picked up Mario Golf and Tennis GBA later. Looking into Advance Wars and some other games, but I think I've got a lot of the essentials.

I also printed off this board for Mario Party because I'm just that cool. I played with some some rare dudes who'd try it a few weeks ago, it was surprisingly entertaining.

Why get a current gen console when you could get this super radical setup and live the dream??

Anything I'm missing that would make this the coolest GBA multiplayer collection? Any long-lost memories of cool times playing the GBA multiplayer?

4x modded gba model 1 with ags 101 backlit ?
For better multiplayer? Cool collection.

My fav is zelda 4 swords on the gamecube
Mario kart advance and doom 1/2 coop

You need an eReader and cards for those dope exclusive levels

I was actually seriously looking into Mario Party-e a few days ago since Mario Party Advance was surprisingly good. Not sure if there's any other worthwhile multiplayer e-reader stuff though.

Modded GBAs are killer expensive though, for now function is fine for me over form.

Is Doom co-op on GBA really cool?

Found a modded gba model 1 with 101 screen for 80ish bucks on ebay . Seller still has 7 left. See trough purple model.

Yes doom on gba is fantastic in coop.

I'm paying Canadian prices as well which sucks, for now it'll be a dream. :P

And cool, I'm seeing it has four-player deathmatch as well, multiplayer FPS on the GBA would be a great experience. (Expensive as heck though)

What are you talking about, modded GBA's and such things... Forget about the GBA's, you *only* needs a bunch of Gamecubes and GBAPlayers.

Please forgive the crappy photoshopping, I made this 10 years ago. And yes, it works:

Case 1: You need an extra Gamecube or Wii and TV for the 3 Gamecubes games using the GBA-GC cable.
In any case: You basically replace your GBA with a set of TV+Gamecube+GBAPlayer+GC Controller.

For full bad-assery you need Wavebirds as GC controllers, of course.

Awesome setup. My suggestions:

Single Cart:
Bomberman Tournament
Advance Wars
Game & Watch Gallery 4

Multi Cart:
Mega Man Battle Network (3,5,6)

I know about this, but the impractically of needing 4 or 5 TVs kind of kills it. GameCubes are cheap, but Game Boy Players are expensive. And there is some novelty in doing it on actual GBAs anyway.

Where's Fire Emblem?!

Not that familiar with the series, what are the multiplayer features in that? Admittedly, I steer away from multiplayer games that require player investment like Pokemon and stuff, I assumed Fire Emblem would require players to all pre-grind beforehand or something.

I've looked into Bomberman and Advance Wars and I actually have Chu Chu Rocket up there, but what are the multiplayer features like in Game & Watch and Mega Man? I'm thinking Battle Network would probably require players to grind for items before playing or something?

Pretty cool series on the GBA, might want to check it out if you want a casual strategy experience. For the most fun, you're gonna want both save files to have been completed. It's a team battle with up to 5 units on each side taking turns attacking the enemy. Up to 4 players/teams.

Shining Soul and Shining Soul II are multi cart multiplayer action RPG dungeon crawlers. I remember Shining Soul II having some interesting classes.

We had a group that did FFCC and 4 Swords. Kind of sad we never got through either of them. Some of my favorite experiences playing games.

No music in Shining Soul multiplayer seems like a deakbreaker...

Obviously so many people never got to experience this! I know they technically couldn't pull off single-cart Four Swords, but I was so gutted that I always watched the intro movie on my LttP cart but could never play it ;_;

GBAs themselves aren't too bad, though the brighter screen ones are a bit more valuable yeah.

Hm...I do own 6 GCNs(Spice, Indigo, Black, Silver, Tales, Gundam). I might have to buy some cables.

IMO, Advance Wars is the best of the best. 4-player battles on just one system... Just pass the GBA around. Good times.

Google got me here searching for Shining Soul info XD

That's a sexy setup my friend! Working my way up there myself. Unfortunately, seeing al the prices, a decade or so too late ;)
I intent to give my two GBA's a backlight mod (they did get a stick-on-light back in the day lol). I discovered my AGS-101 is dead, haven't been able to fix it yet :(

I was kinda disappointed WarioWare: Mega Microgame$! didn't have link multiplayer, but alas.

I also read Mario Party wasn't a fun multiplayer game in this case?
How does your board work exactly?

Didn't know Doom had co-op though! I'd like to try 4 player Doom and Duke Nukem some day. I never was into the first person shooters myself really, but a lot of my friends were, back in the 90's when we were in secondary school ;)

This is a nice site reviewing all the Single Pack multiplayer gba games:

No music in Shining Soul multiplayer seems like a deakbreaker...
Do both Shining Soul and Shining Soul II have no sound in multiplayer?
Did Shining Force Resurrection of the Dark Dragon have any multiplayer?
