I only game at 1440p 144hz so I should be gravy for a long time
Very true and the 3080 is perfect for that. I think the 6800xt is also a very good option for a 1440p/144hz setup.

With the leak specs it won’t be faster then the 3090.It'll be faster. I don't think it'll be that much faster. Maybe 10-15% over the 3090 and with 0.5 the VRAM? No dice.
1000 pounds?Only willing to pay £1000 and not a penny more as the 3090 is supposed to be £1500
I honestly didn't know how lucky I was getting to the front of the EVGA queue and buying my 3090 at MSRP before the first round of tariff-related price increases back in February. Glad I pulled the trigger on that one though, whew.Goddamn my RTX3090 was a fucking bargain...
My suspicion is that these prices are not permanent, and are a result of the pandemic. While I'm sure NVidia would absolutely love to charge insanely extortionate prices for their flagship GPU's on an ongoing basis, the reality is that these costs are more than the consumer gaming market will bear in any long term sense. There are two outcomes - this is a temporary aberration that they are capitalising on and prices will eventually settle back down, or this is AMD's moment to seize control of the gaming GPU market.
Maybe. Again, it will all depend on what the market can bear. There seems to be an assumption that as prices escalate, people will simply pay them because they are so desperate for the hardware. I'm not so sure that's actually the case, especially in our current circumstances. Do you really think that once you hit five grand for a reasonable PC build, software and hardware sales won't tank? They're testing the market to see what they can get away with.Amd upped there prices by more then 2x with this gen on cpu / gpu front.
AMD will follow nvidia's suit pretty easily.
High five! 3080 Fe msrp from nvidia site here. Even sold free watch dogs for 30I thank the maker I lucked into this 3080 at Msrp. I only game at 1440p 144hz so I should be gravy for a long time

You may be right. But wasn't the 2080Ti a little stronger than the Titan? If it's even, then even worse. I got the 3090 so I"m good.LOL let me know what you are smoking how can GPU with less SM then 3090 be 15% faster? at best might match it if its clocked higher but with half the Vram and no NVlink. Its 3080ti for a reason and not 3090ti.
Yeah because the 3090 was 50% more powerful than the 3080.At that price, it better be at least 50% more powerful than a 3090.
Life comes too fuckin' fast I tells ya.Never thought I'd view the $1,500 I paid for my 3090fe as a bargain but here we are.
Yes waaay too much. You're just being fucking greedy right now. Go hose yourself off you filth. For fuck's sake I just want a Founder's Edition 3070 at MSRP. Is that too much to ask for?
Ahahaha, the MSRP of 3080 Ti is $1300.Never thought I'd view the $1,500 I paid for my 3090fe as a bargain but here we are.
We were the smart ones buying into the 3090 when we had our shot.
You paid 100% more for an average 20% performance uplift.
..That's not smart, its the very fucking definition of dumb.
You better hope for a buy direct and get lucky. I've been in the EVGA que for the 3080 for literally almost 8 mos. now.
I'm just waiting for the queue to open
I have a very nice video card, it's in my PC now, and quite frankly I'm at a point in my life where I can afford to spend money on my hobbies. Stay mad though. You paid 100% more for an average 20% performance uplift.

Upgrade? 3080ti for you would be downgrade:So do we know the main differences between this card and a 3080 and 90 for comparison sake? I have a nice gigabyte vision 3090 so I'm not exactly feeling like this would be a major upgrade. But it's good to see and know what we are looking at as far as RT/CUDA cores.
Actually going by benches from today 3080ti is around 3% slower then 3090 which is to be expected going by amount of missing cuda cores and SMs, Titan was on founder edition cooler vs Custom AIB 2080ti but Titan on Custom loop is still faster then any 2080ti card regardless. You may be right. But wasn't the 2080Ti a little stronger than the Titan? If it's even, then even worse. I got the 3090 so I"m good.
Is the retail higher because it seems close but not worth the exorbitant price.Upgrade? 3080ti for you would be downgrade:

3090 at its best is only 15% faster than 3080 . If 3080 Ti is not at least as fast as 3090 , then there's no reason for it to exist .
In an ideal world maybe miners will not be bothered with 3080 Ti and more people can buy it. Price is still butchered though. No way this isn't going for $3000 at least in my country.Well benchmarks are out.... and there is no reason for it to exist lol
