There's an online poll at the Miss Asia America's facebook page. Having more votes will help her look good with the judges and there is a Miss Social Media title involved as well.

All you have to do is go to their facebook page and vote for Kristine Hara - It will literally take 30 seconds of your life. She's friendly, beautiful and she's a software engineer.

I am excited to share that I am one of the 29 finalists in the Miss Asian America and Miss Asian Global pageant!

10 years ago when I was a shy and awkward teen, I never would have dreamed that I would one day be in the longest running Asian beauty pageant in the US.

Whether or not I win any title, I hope that this pageant leads to further opportunities to increase community empathy for the challenges faced by ethnic minorities and women in tech/engineering.

I feel like by not voting I'll kinda be supporting her career as a software engineer, which is a hell of a lot more respectable thing to do than wasting her time on beauty pageants.

Be prepared for people to come in and say the other contestants are prettier and they couldn't in good conscience vote for your friend. In fact, they voted for someone else and are spreading the poll to other forums and asking them not to vote for your friend.

Yep, I'm aware of this. Cause this is NeoGAf. there are some nice people here, and there are some evil fuckers, and there are some spiteful assholes. Just like real life I guess. Oh wel.

Most things probably wouldn't surprise you, but I've known people that get involved in these and it's just silly. I don't think a single one looked back fondly on them and, if anything, had more issues coming out than they had going in.

If you want us to support your friend, you should provide a real photo of her. not after being photoshopped to death. Oh, and it's against the forums rules to advertise to support yourself or someone else.

edit: I opened the facebook page and all of them have photoshopped pics of themselves. ugh. I voted for your friend.
