Mysterious Video Hints At Unannounced PlayStation Move Game

Did that video emerge somewhere else, or is that YouTube channel the source? If so, the other videos are just some Polish dude playing DDR. Wouldn't be surprised if this is just their attempt at a viral video.

Why is the Move controller completely still (while the hand on screen is moving)?
Indeed. That's very odd. Also the way it shows up. I mean, it should be pointing differently. Perhaps it's there just to say "hi, I'm a Move game!" :D

That YT video seems to be the source. That's the video the anonymous dude gave me. Not sure if it can be found somewhere else. I did search for "odd forest" but found nothing alike.

don't worry about it, he just made another thread and didn't see the original, and mod merged both.

Hrmm. Well, I hope it's legit. Definitely looks intriguing. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I have no idea what that was, but it looked interesting to say the least. They should combine this gameplay with Milo and sell it to pedobears.

No problem. I asked around before publishing the rumor btw and got some "no comment" response. Which is why I eventually decided to post it :D

could be someone with the Move.Me kit just trying stuff out on a PC
Totally, albeit one would wonder why he didn't just publish it as such. It's not like Move.Me stuff is under NDA or something.

Or maybe it's all just bullshit.
We'll see, we'll see...

Certainly i dig the surreal atmosphere, it reminded me a lot of Linger in Shadows.

Wow, I don't know what this is, but I like the look of it. Reminds me of a more tactile, interactive Myst. I like how starkly photorealistic it is.

Plastic (Who made Linger in Shadows) are in Poland
http://plastic-demo.nazwa.pl/wordpress/

And so is the guy who uploaded the original video
https://www.youtube.com/user/PLmae

So possible link?

I don't know of any other developers in Poland that could do something like this (Only big polish developer I can find is People Can Fly, and they did Bulletstorm)

would be interesting if this turned out to be the new and improved sorcery game for move, Sony said it was still coming but we had not seen hide nor hair of the thing since last year. pretty big visual difference though, makes it hard to guess.

It does look like it could be an interesting experience if given enough conext. Say it's an open world type of thing like The Elder Scrolls, Sony does not have to worry about movement because you still have analog control, and the animations for the hand look pretty deep. it's probably just a tech demo for something that will either never come, or will be comletely different though.

Reminds me of that weird cat/shadow/robot flying squid tech demo thing they released on PSN a few years ago.

edit "reads post below"

linger in shadows that was its name.

I have evidence!

This is more than likely by Plastic (Makers of Linger in Shadow)

As I stated earlier the original uploader is in Poland, as is Plastic.

Looking through the old videos I managed to find a brief glimpse of the YouTuber PLmae:

Now, he looks a lot like Paweł Czubiński from Plastic, and his nickname is mae

PL meaning Poland and mae being his nickname aka PLmae

Coincidence... I think not! =P

Good stuff, all that we need now is for this to appear on Kotaku with no credit given to TTP or Toppot.

Man, if this isn't real, it should be. Move and Kinect both need some weirdo avant garde games. Get ThatGameCompany on this.
Wow, how ignorant are you? I guess you did not hear about how these so called "artistic" games are brainwashing our youth to believe the evil left wing Agenda. The simple fact that you would want more of that makes you an enemy of fox news, and amurica!

I actually agree with you, we need more games that go out of their way to try some new things, fox disagrees though because they are patriots.

Awesome job man. You previous post had me 90% convinced this comes from Plastic but I couldn't find ultimate proof. Now you did :)

Will update blog post with your findings.

I hope this is what I think it is. I'd love - basically - just a first person demo of very granular interaction with virtual objects. A VR experiment, basically.

The collision detection there is fantastic.

When Move first emerged it's what we were talking about, hoping some game would come along that experimented with this sort of thing - highly granular interaction + good physics. It's unlikely a big budget title is going to take on that challenge but if we even just got a 'demo' or some small experience like this, at this stage I'd be happy.

So...umm..I hope it's real :p

Yeah remember the times when magazines ridiculed Rayman for having hoverhands? Well it looks even more ridiculous with realistic hands. Otherwise pretty good looking what ever this is

Tech demo-y things like this are great examples of coding, but not much thought on gameplay.

It'd be cool if this was an arty game about a blind person learning to feel around for the first time, and the world is all monochrome until you touch and feel certain elements, bringing them to life in the blind characters mind.

It reminds me a bit of Myst, coupled with some excellent hand animation. I like the fantastical vibe of the setting as well, despite how little we saw of it. For now though, it just looks like a tech demo and nothing else.

Lord Error

Insane For Sony
This looks pretty cool honestly. The procedurally animated hand is novel, at least I've never seen something like that being done before, and it's done really well here. Graphics look pretty damn amazing too, albeit not really all that smooth in terms of framerate. But that could just be crappy video encoding.

I'll say it now, if this is done to support 3D, it should look fantastic using those 3D visor glasses they announced the other day.
