No its not the same thing. Its may be something that tries to achieve the same thing but that does not mean it will.
Which have been debunked. The game on the Series X is not 72GB
It's 2K21 on XBOX, 4K42 on PS5.
But does the install consume less on Series X compared to PS5? That is the question. So far we got one person saying they installed it at 110GB on Series X. That is still 40GB less then PS5 if it does require 150GB.

Hehe no worriesOk i got confused! sorry for microsoft naming.
Not only that the new one says “2k21 Next Generation”The cover with Damian Lillard is CURRENT gen. The one with Zion on the cover is NEXT gen.
You might be confused? Thread title say 72GB on XSX Not Series X.
That’s the regular Xbox one Version the Next Gen 2K21 is at 101.4GB
Hardware Decompression – Hardware decompression is a dedicated hardware component introduced with Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S to allow games to consume as little space as possible on the SSD while eliminating all CPU overhead typically associated with run-time decompression. It reduces the software overhead of decompression when operating at full SSD performance from more than three CPU cores to zero – thereby freeing considerable CPU power for the game to spend on areas like better gameplay and improved framerates. Hardware decompression is one of the components of the Xbox Velocity Architecture.

[Editor’s Note: Updated on 10/21 at 11AM to ensure it is now reflective of the capabilities across both of our next-gen Xbox consoles following the unveil of Xbox Series S.] As we enter a new generation of console gaming with Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, we’ve made a number of technology...news.xbox.com
Wouldn't that be compression?Hardware decompression is a dedicated hardware component introduced with Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S to allow games to consume as little space as possible on the SSD
Excuse me but I think you have been bamboozled by MS' marketing;-)No its not the same thing. Its may be something that tries to achieve the same thing but that does not mean it will.
Yeah in the few nextgen games we saw so far PS5 is faster so...That Noodle Crackers tech isn't putting in the proper work so far.
Now Say Her Name!!!!The extra GBs is for BLM propaganda. Player's take a knee and walk off the court.
It's not even used yet. It wont be used by devs until the next wave of games. (1/2 to 1 year from now)That Noodle Crackers tech isn't putting in the proper work so far.
Point being that all people who thought that next gen games would be smaller thanks to asset duplication, where wrong. And both xsex and ps5 have very limited storage space
so is this a "who's is bigger thread"?
that is NOT what she saidbut in this case the smaller the better
Not by much tho.Yeah in the few nextgen games we saw so far PS5 is faster so...
The bag of tricks is that they can create more detailed and varied content, so the size will only go upOr the first wave of cross gen games on multiple platforms don't give the devs time to reach into the complete bag of tricks.

Sure they can optimize, but duplicated data is not big enough to compensate for the increase of assets and detail we will see.Sure, but you are also ignoring the duplicated data, compression, etc. We just saw a Days Gone patch remove 20GB due to compression.
