4chan is still slaying (778 global and 372 in the US) and has one of the most outdated layouts I can think of. Functional once you know how to use it but looks like gibberish to someone who doesn't know what they're looking at.

Websites I don't know how to use:

reddit, twitter, 4chan, tumblr

And some would say NeoGAF.

That was like 5 years ago.

In order for GAF ato grow, it needs more active users and lurkers, that's really all there is to it. How do you achieve that? There are various methods, perhaps a community vote might be in order if deemed appropriate?

Alexa rank is not representative whatsoever of the site's traffic and is based entirely on Alexa desktop browser toolbar use (which no one aside from obsessive webmasters use, and NeoGAF's traffic has shifted drastically toward mobile use in the last 12-18 months, which as Stump brought up wouldn't be tracked at all by Alexa afaik).

Site's traffic is growing, not declining, folks, so any advice you're giving about what we're doing wrong, well, thanks for the feedback?
