Batman Begins making gains. Not too surprising.

I still think it might actually work better as a movie after The Dark Knight. But that's some "Machete Order" bullshit that I'm not going to advocate people actually do. Just an interesting thought exercise.

Hellboy II with the biggest gain on the list? Very nice.

Dunno what the fuck BvS is doing in the top 30 tho

I'm okay with this list.

Batman v Superman is way too high though. Above Hellboy? Hellnaw.

It should be lower than Hellboy, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, X-Men, Avengers: Age of Ultron and DEFINITELY under Batman: Under the Red Hood.

Not that much different from the other list, though given that it has only been two years, I'm not that surprised.

Ah shit, I didn't know the last thread even had a deadline. The list I posted in there was a joke. You didn't really think someone would only like Batman movies did you?

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
The Dark Knight is SO overrated.

The Cap trilogy, GOTG, DOFP, The Watchmen and Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World are all far better movies.

The king stay the king.

I didn't vote this time. But looking at my old list, it wouldn't have changed things except bumping Superman over Watchmen and possibly X2 into 10. Funnily, my old top three are the same top three here.

I was hoping more people would vote.

Personally, I didn't bother because nothing since 2015 would've changed in my top 10. Well, until Logan.

The Breakouts:

Marvel Studios:
1) Captain America: The Winter Soldier (#4 overall)
2) The Avengers (#6 overall)
3) Guardians of the Galaxy (#7 overall)
4) Iron Man (#8 overall)
5) Captain America: Civil War (#10 overall)
6) Captain America: The First Avenger (#20 overall)
7) Doctor Strange (tied for #31 overall)
8) Iron Man 3 (#33 overall)
9) Ant-Man (tied for #39 overall)
10) Avengers: Age of Ultron (tied for #44 overall)

Marvel Productions (Fox/Sony/New Line Marvel films)
1) Spider-Man 2 (#2 overall)
2) X2: X-Men United (#11 overall)
3) Deadpool (#13 overall)
4) Spider-Man (#14 overall)
5) X-Men: Days of Future Past (#15 overall)
6) X-Men: First Class (#24 overall)
7) Blade II (#26 overall)
8) Blade (#31 overall)
9) X-Men (#41 overall)
10) Hulk (#46 overall)

DC Comics:
1) The Dark Knight (#1 overall)
2) Batman Begins (#3 overall)
3) Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (#9 overall)
4) Watchmen (#16 overall)
5) Superman: The Movie (#17 overall)
6) Batman (1989) (#18 overall)
7) The Dark Knight Rises (#19 overall)
8) Batman Returns (#21 overall)
9) Man of Steel (tied for #24 overall)
10) Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (#27 overall)

Independents/Originals
1) The Incredibles (#5 overall)
2) Unbreakable (#12 overall)
3) Hellboy II (#22 overall)
4) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) (#23 overall)
5) V for Vendetta (#28 overall)
6) Hellboy (#29 overall)
7) The Crow (#34 overall)
8) The Rocketeer (#36 overall)
9) The Shadow (#38 overall) (what the fuck this movie is trash)
10) Kick-Ass (#40 overall)

I think that happened last time, too!

Also, I'm pretty sure if it had been eligible, Logan would have scored a top 5. Maybe even top 3.

No one remember Superman Return. Good list

I think folks remembered Superman Returns just fine...

Well, I suggested for the off-year we try something different and think suggested best set-piece/action sequence in a comic movie for next one.

But who knows...

Or animated series, though we know will mostly be Timmverse in Top 5

I still feel like Spider-Man 2 is the gold standard that all other superhero movies have to be measured against. I miss Raimi.

i like how the top 2 is consistent from the last time. too godly to be threatened by anything else.

Logan should be clinched as number 3 too in the future.

I'd have Spectacular Spider-Man in my top five, and Avengers EMH in top ten. But yes, asking about cartoons would get DC heavy.

Best action scene could be interesting. Top ten there would be quite different. Say, Blade 1 club scene and Winter Soldier boat would be on my top 10, but neither movie is. Depending if it's one scene per movie, X2 might get two spots.

Nightcrawler and Mansion raid with Babysitter Wolverine? So good.

The problem is stuff like The Incredibles

Like, the entire last 35 minutes is basically one long set-piece. But it seems ridiculous to count that. But I don't know how you would even attempt to split that up.

I feel like that's where you'd finally see Superman Returns show up on these lists: That plane rescue would probably wind up top 5, considering how often it's brought up.

(is it better than the Superfeats/Superdam/Turning Back the World section from 1978 ? I dunno)

WHAT!? X-Men 2 drops 4 spots, while First Class (the good one) is down seven? Well, at least we're starting to be less accepting of X2 being allegedly good.

Now this guy...this guy knows what's up. Almost a decade and a half, and still has not been topped.

Fact, not opinion.

Scott Pilgrim isn't a superhero movie, and as good as it is, is nowhere as good as The Dark Knight.

And don't get me started on the other movies you've alluded to. Nah.

I would post my real list here with some commentary, but what's the point in putting in all that work when it's over and my joke vote got counted?

It ain't that much work to list 10 movies. And of course your joke vote got counted. Why wouldn't it have?

You honestly think "I picked all Batman movies" was that out there for this side of the board?

Still the only top spot for TMNT (1990)?

You're welcome

Frreal. How many times have you seen posts about Batman being the best/only good superhero (especially in regards to DC alone)?

All of the films I voted for made the top 20 aside from TMNT (which I can't believe dropped).

Great list. I should probably watch The Incredibles one day.

8 of my top 10 were in the GAF Top 10. The other two were in the Top 15. I guess my superhero tastes are pretty unoriginal!

MMarston

Was getting caught part of your plan?
Civil War made it to the Top 10.

We are truly in Trump's America.

It's an 11-20 tier at best
