Glad VP2 seems to be sticking to it's roots, I was afraid they'd try and focus it on a more kid-accessible genre. Cant wait to hear about what additions they've made besides the multiplayer and what looks like a Piñata-browser (That's a much need addition in itself).

No, I mean: the textures, the overworld, the objects, the constructions and the environments seem to be almost all derived from mechanism and they're not really part of the natural world. Banjo and Kazooie designs are also in resonance with this style.

Of course Banjo-Kazooie also had this element, but only in selected part of the game: Rusty Bucket Bay for example. But there were also Click Clock Wood, Freezezy Peak and Gobi's Valley.

The medieval screenshot pic (the one where Banjo is walking on the tightrope) doesn't have that mechanical vibe. That said, I like the mechanical vibe, and i love those vehicals. I just hope Banjo doesn't talk in his stupid voice again. Just have text, I don't need "warble gargle" sounds kthnx.

Microsoft would be the worst parents ever. They'd hide your Christmas presents under your own damn bed.

This drip feed of information is kinda spoiling it.. I was happy to see Banjo as it confirms it's in a fine state of development. But this is getting depressing.

Why won't they do something about these leaks internally? If you leak at Apple you lose your job.

Do not compute. Why Banjo should build a mechanical imitation of the Spiral Mountain?

The characters will retain their classic mumbly chatter noises, rather than having full voice-acting.

Or maybe Grunty is

But it's quite obvious, it has the size of Spiral Mountain, there is place for water, there are flowers, notes, and clouds!

And Banjo is sabotating it? He's happy to see the construction burning.

It's not burning, it's building!

I'm searching desperately to find the quote but someone from Rare said Spiral Mountain would be back but it'd look a little different.

Also, one of the "supposed" stories has to do with Banjo rebuilding his home. But I can't find the damn things!

Here's one part:

Rare said:
Rumour Four: Banjo comes out of retirement to stop his home being redeveloped into tower blocks and malls.
To end the struggle, a capricious higher power engineers a bear/witch showdown through worlds of the imagination – with Spiral Mountain's ownership deeds going to the victor.

Here's one part:

Rumour One: Banjo and Grunty team up against a new threat, falling in love in the process.
Sexy post-transformation Grunty makes a return and proves irresistible to our heroic bear, much to Kazooie's disgust. Can the mismatched trio defeat their fire-breathing foe?

Rumour Two: Kazooie is abducted by aliens and Banjo heads out to search the cosmos.
Partway through his low-gravity exploits, he discovers who's taken her... and it's a familiar face from the Rare archives who has been 'turned to the green side' by Grunty.

Rumour Three: Banjo and Kazooie travel back through time in pursuit of the witch's giant T.I.T.
Grunty drives her Time Interfering Truck back to before the bear and bird met. The duo must reintroduce themselves and relearn everything they know in a completely new way!

Rumour Four: Banjo comes out of retirement to stop his home being redeveloped into tower blocks and malls.
To end the struggle, a capricious higher power engineers a bear/witch showdown through worlds of the imagination – with Spiral Mountain's ownership deeds going to the victor.

Rumour Five: War comes to Spiral Mountain, and Banjo becomes a reluctant leader.
Ever seen a Jinjo Tank? Or Grunty's Grappling Grenadier Grunts? You will when you take on our innovative RTS-platformer hybrid campaign.

de racebeelden zijn allemaal uit Multiplayer. Diegene die de screenshots heeft gepost had maar toegang tot 1 mulplayergame en de eerste stukjes uit de worldhub en 1 level: Nutty Acres

Translation.

The pictures:
The racing is all from MP. The one who posted the screens had access to 1 MP game, and the first pieces of the worldhub and level 1: Nutty Acres.

He's smiling. That smoke is from the mountain being built. I'd imagine it starts off with just no mountain, and that smoke is the exhaust from the machines that are building the mountain.

And from what we're seeing, Rumor Four is FAR more likely than any of the other ones. The world with TV screen ceilings is the hub and the worlds of imagination are the levels. There's even a Scribes answer about worlds within worlds, and then joking that there'd even be worlds within worlds within worlds.

Edit: HAH!

ugh, those vehicles. :/

This is definitely my favourite picture out of the bunch. Banjo being in that huge, circular mechanical dome totally gives off a Psychonauts vibe - from that level where you had to beat Napoleon in his little strategic board game.

That's a good thing, btw. That level was brilliant.

That' singleplayer stuff is just... level 1? Can't wait to see some of the other singleplayer environments.

What I'm thinking/hoping the new gameplay concept is:

You collect blueprints and spare parts in the world (nuts, bolts, scrap metal, etc) which would be the traditional platformer part. And in order to get some of the better parts you'd have to win them by competing in races.

Then you'd use those parts to build a vehicle that would let you progress to the next area. So say you start off on an island, you'd build a boat to sail to the next island - or a submarine to go to a different underwater area, or a plane to fly to some high above area, etc.

That would be pretty awesome. Especially the building a boat to sail to the next island bit.

Yeah, that's what I pretty much said in my last few posts.

I guess the "new" Spiral Mountain is the Hub World, Nutty Acres is the first level and that's the one in the medieval style with Jolly Roger and the Rhino, and then we have those race pictures with Grunty 'n the two Banjo's. That's multiplayer

In any case, more platformers to play are a good thing. Sorely lacking in this gen so far.

Yes, exactly like DKC3. I made that comparison earlier, it was the first thing that came to mind when I saw that leaked plane shot in the other thread.

I really like that and in between there are shootout scenes, hence the weapons!

With all the vehicle shots... i have to think this is the story

Maybe all 5 the plots are true :lol I see something of all those 5 in these screens.

That's something typically Rare would do. TiT's, Bolts, Nuts..

Bears don't wear backpacks either.

I'm not sure about the RTS thing, Rumour 4 still seems possible as well:

Rumour Four: Banjo comes out of retirement to stop his home being redeveloped into tower blocks and malls.
To end the struggle, a capricious higher power engineers a bear/witch showdown through worlds of the imagination – with Spiral Mountain's ownership deeds going to the victor.

This looks amazing, can't wait to see the vid. RARE has four teams I think(1 handheld team), that means there's one game left to announce.
