A group of enemies ran over to protect him, so Kratos climbed atop a Cyclops and used it to knock many of them out of the way. Eventually, Kratos made his way to Helios and entered into one of the most over-the-top animations in the series to date. As one of the developers alternated pressing R1 and L1, Kratos slowly tore Helios' head from his body, whose eyes rolled around with a weird sort of comical fear as his neck tore inch-by-inch.

Moments later, Kratos was able to use the head for his own purposes -- it serves the dual task of revealing hidden doors (the controller vibrates to signify that you are close to them) and giving you enough light to let you progress through darkened caves. This is exactly what I thought Jaffe meant when he said it looked like a painting. Look at the beginning of the trailer, I thought it was complete FMV, and then the camera panned down to show it was all real time. It looked FANTASTIC. The Titan of course looked amazing, and this is the tip of the iceberg. I'm posisitive we can expect MASSIVE AND EPIC shit to be happening in REAL TIME throughout the entire game, it's going to be very impressive just wait.

The actual graphics themselves in gameplay are pretty damn good as well, the reason they don't blow everyone away is because they look a bit gamey, and I understand that. They don't look like FMV the way Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2 does, but artistically and technically the game already impresses. I can't wait til we see some of the amazing parts of this game, I know we'll be blown away, based on what I just saw.
 
yeah, this shit is looking CRAZY GOOD. i love the new perspective on the gameplay and although i hope it looks just a notch smoother, whch i'm sure it will; but regardless, as is i'm fucking SOLD. PS3 purchased justified.
 
The ending of the trailer was awesome. I can't wait for this. Game looks amazing. I just replayed through the first two and this looks way better. I don't care what was said before or what it looks like compared to other games, I like this.

Let's not hide behind words like "observation" and "opinion", what exactly are you referring to when you said it looked like God of War 2? Character models? Lighting? Textures? Would you kindly do a quick comparison to highlight your point?

We all have our flaws.. ;) J/K, but on topic I watched this trailer a couple of more times and it's just epic. Epic. It's been stated that the game is going to be playable at E3 too? I keep feeling that the game will make it out this year. If it does, Holiday 09 will be one hell of a season for sure!

Yeah, I imagined the game would be on a new disc format called "constipated goat" where it required at least 6 1/2 dull pencil sharpeners in the buyers home before it would be operational.

Fuck Jaffe and fuck this game for not living up to my imagination!

Kratos is so fucking badass that his badassness trencends space and time, his mother is E=mc2 his father Einstein, even here were the fucking cyclops is as good as dead since he is about to fall, kratos fucking rips his fucking eye out nonetheles.

well I just think people need to stop taking things so literally, at face-fucking-value. I mean, that quote from Jaffe can be taken in so many different ways. he was obviously just saying that he thought the game looked quite vivid and detailed, not that it was like a piece of art that he saw at an exhibit running at 60fps on a screen. who honestly thought that's what he meant?

it's not the GOW3 developer's fault that the game doesn't meet everyone's expectations because everyone thought that it was going to be exactly what Jaffe said. and the graphics ARE fantastic. that's not an opinion, just look at the trailer.

yes, i hadn't played any of the god of war games till i got my ps3. Went and bought them and played through both in about a week. such a great story.

Why are there so many doubters? What god of war game had bad graphics?? Even the psp one blew me away.
