New Leisure Suit Larry game in development? (Howard Stern)

I'm listening to a repeat broadcast of todays Howard Stern show and Artie Lange said that after the show today he had to go record lines for a character named 'Big Al' in, "a game called Leisure Suit Larry".

Howard went on to say that he knew the game series and they talked about it for a minute.

Anyone care about this news??
Magnum Cum Laude tells me you don't

Would be nice if they made an actual PNC adventure again.

I'm talking to a friend who used to worked at Sierra (he still talks with Al Lowe)..

Al did an interview the other day - still trying to get the link from him in case there are any clues..

From what my friend knows, Al probably isn't working on it.. Al's start up went belly-up though so if they asked him at all he'd be on board in a hurry.

My aunt & uncle run a Mom & Pop store, "The Gamecube Hut", and sold 80k WiiU within minutes of opening.
My dream game would be a LSL excersise game (arcade/rpg) game set in a health resort that had the player doing excercises with sexy/funny cutscenes thrown in as a reward.

I had this idea years before Wii Fit.

If Al Lowe is not involved in it, I really don't fucking care. :(

That's the only opionion anyone should have! And it should actually be an adventure and not some shitty minigame collection.

Love For Sail was LSL7. Looks like it's getting a phone port.

Oh, I've never actually played these games.
I'm just reading from my onesheet.

I know I'm in the minority, but I thought Magna Cum Laude was really funny. It wasn't a great "game", but it was really funny. It was a lot dirtier than the old games and I wish it would've been an adventure game, but the humour struck a chord with me.

Edit: And I say that as a person that enjoyed the all old LSL games and loved LSL7.

Pretty much talk to Al few times a week, he just got from Denmark. Really doubt this is real Leisure Suit Larry. LSL7 indeed was best of the best.

My buddy is offline now.. Anyway - I e-mailed Al myself.. Let's see where this goes. :D

Cool. I'm always up for revivals of the old adventure games, so long as they're good. I bought MCL hoping it would be good, but sadly it was repetitive and dull. Some of the humor was alright though.

Sounds like it will continue the character from MCL. Hopefully they at least tried to get Al involved this time.

I wonder what Lori and Cory Cole are up to these days...

I still have fond memories of talking to Cory, Al Lowe, and composer Aubrey Hodges on The Sierra Network back in the early 90's.

I think Coles are over their WoW addiction by now. :lol Im not sure they got there portable games off the ground sadly. I know they took down the mail because of all spam they were getting. I'd die for another Quest for Glory like Shadow of Darkness. That is king of atmosphere.

New Larry game?? HELL YES, count me in. Traditional 3rd person adventure game style please!

I don't think Al Lowe is going to be involved though...

Edit: oh shit, talking about old skool adventures makes me all nostalgical and teary eyed again...

LET IT BE

I received a reply from Al - looks like he didn't even know about a new game until I e-mailed him about it.

You and I both, my friend. Unfortunately Sierra doesn't seem to give a shit anymore about what made them who they are today, thanks to Vivendi's aquisition.

They should just make this game as Hardcore as possible. Playing through them is like watching Cinemax after watching Bangbros throughout your teenage years. It just.doesn't.cut.it

AFAIK, there is no actual original Sierra left anymore. It's all just Vivendi acquisitions now.

Afraid you missed the point with what the true Larry series really is then. Never was about porn, was about comedy, good game scenarios. Sure it was awesome they went the extra mile with extra naughty bits in LSL7 but it should never be porno, Al lowe made that very clear over the years.

You aren't alone. As a fan you played every LSL game when they were new, I really enjoyed Magna Cum Laude as well. The mini games weren't great but most weren't horrible either. It just was so jarring from what people expected a Larry game should be that caused such a negative reaction. The humor was great and I would place the teddy bear scene about any other in the series. Still I hope the new game is closer to an adventure game like Sam n Max.

I wonder who the developer it. Telltale has two teams. One is in Sam n Max mode forever but the other just shipped a CSI game and no word what they are up too. Probably another CSI game I imagine but can't help wishful thinking.

Wasn't Al Lowe making a sneaking game? I think they even released some concept renders.

Cum Laude was really funny but funny in a Porky's way not a Leisure Suit Larry way. Still I enjoyed it for what it was.

Leisure Suit Larry VII was one of the best adventure games ever. If its anything like the classic style, I'm there.

I remember finding all the easter eggs in that game. It was so good!

I won it through one of those gaming sites (I think Pogo) back in the day.

Easter eggs? Right.... Those easter eggs almost got me in trouble. They were dildos. (unless you are talking about the tricks to see the girls nude) in LSL 7 they had these dildos dressed like Waldo that were hidden in the game. My wife started playing the game a few weeks after I finished it and she called me on my cellphone asking for help. For some reason I forgot I was in the middle of a grocery store frozen food section and I start talking in public, quite loudly, where to find the hidden dildos.

"Love, have you looked for the dildo in the potted plant? How about under the chair? There might be a dildo in the fruit bowl."

This goes on for about 5 minutes when I finally end the conversation and realize that everyone in the aisle stopped shopping and are looking at me with their mouths open.

I completely forgot that they were dildos! Oh my. Did you take a break from shopping at that store? :D

Love for Sail was awesome. I did enjoy Shape Up or Slip Out a lot too.

Looking back, it's a little weird that my older sister got me into LSL games. Then again, she loved all the point-and-click adventure games.

There were both dildos (dressed like Waldo) and actual Easter Eggs. As I remember, the Easter Eggs were harder to find.
