New Marvel Game Starring Captain America and Black Panther From Amy Hennig Announced

Sweet, put the black superhero and the white superhero together in one shit game, that will bring ‘em together. Jesus H Christ, this forced equality bull shit is a fucking joke at this point. Fuck Twitter and fuck Era 🤷‍♂️

There is actually a run from early 2000s IIRC with Azurri and Rogers. With so much woke stuff out there to complain about this particular take ain't it.

This looks interesting. I hope there will be nazis in the game too and not just Hydra. It felt like they didn't want to use nazis as the villians in the 2011 movie for some reason.

Did anyone here play this?

You can be as serious as you want. Those are the four playable characters as per Skydance media. Better move to the acceptance stage right now.

Why is Wolverine not in the game? I don't know. I don't know the story of the game. The story might not call for it.

Acceptance? Come on now, dont be ridiculous... thats against the soul of this great internet 😉

The what?
Black Panther and Captain America working together is forced equality?

Imma guess you also hated the entire Ultimates team cuz its obviously woke garbage having black people and women on the same team.

Black people and women exist:
Woke garbage.

You guys need to get a grip.
Atleast lets see some gameplay then you can attack the game for whatever short comings it might have.
Simply being angry at the fact there are black people in the game is some weird borderline shit.

Isn't a large part of the initial reaction based on the fact that it would take place in 1945 or earlier? Were there many (any?) white soldiers from the US fighting alongside black soldiers in World War 2? I mean, I realize it's a work of fiction, and that it's based on a comic from 20 years ago, but the 1940s date and commonplace segregation of the time should perhaps make the conversation surrounding the matter a little more nuanced than "black people and women = woke."

However, I agree that we should be waiting to hear more details and see actual gameplay before coming to any sort of conclusions about anything. We can speculate about how the game will confront or avoid talking about various issues, but I agree it would be better to just wait for more details.

I am really fed up with all that marvel shit in movies and games.
Theres been like 3 Marvel games in the last 3 years.
Miles Morales, Avengers and Guardians.
Midnight Suns is the only Marvel game coming out in 2022.

If we assume 1 or 2 per year is that really a lot?

Is that what you are asking?

Mate.

Captain America is a literal Super Soldier, Black Panther comes from a technologically advanced African nation that is somehow invisible to everyone.....but what we need to worry about is whether there were black soldiers who worked with white soldiers?

No, that fact would be very historically accurate. Despite segregation, there were definitely black soldiers in WW2.

Right, which is why I said "I realize it's a work of fiction, and that it's based on a comic from 20 years ago"

but what we need to worry about is whether there were black soldiers who worked with white soldiers?
I wouldn't say "we need to worry" about anything. I'm just suggesting why some people might think it's insensitive or wrong to ignore historical racism, which we don't even know if the game will or won't do. I'm not saying you're wrong (or insensitive), if you don't care about that topic being addressed, but you do seem to be saying people who don't agree with you are wrong. I don't think any of you are wrong, you just have different opinions about the topic.

Just came to say Skydance New Media is a horrible fucking name.

And I won't approve of this game unless Captain America yells "For Freedom" like in Marvel vs. Capcom.

Ok, bye.

Black Panther in WW2 is gonna be super cringe. The only way it won’t be is if it’s set in the pacific instead of Europe. A black and white superhero fighting the Japanese is less likely to have much, if any, racial stuff going on.

None of the Amy Hennig Uncharted stories were like this so I don't know where all these assumptions are coming from to be honest.

How about Black Panther and Captain America team up in 1942 to rescue Japanese Americans from US internment camps?

Good lord, that would be even worse lol. So far none of Amy Hennig’s stories had this kind of cringe in them, so I hope it stays that way.

Then again, the last game written by her was Uncharted 3 over a decade ago; that was a long time ago, and her current bosses might have different expectations for her work.

Seems like a weird mashup. Would honestly have prefered if it was only Captain America, or only Black Phanter.

But I'll reserve my judgement

I feel the same. The worst parts of the Spider-Man game were when you didn't play as Spider-Man. What's the point of these two additional non superhero characters? Were they put in so we could be hit on the head with politics?

I was mostly kidding.

I would guess they were added so that traditional gunplay and stealth action would be added to the game, seeing as one is a solider and the other is a spy. I think the non-spiderman parts were only bad because you couldn't really fight back. I doubt it'll be the same with these characters.
