New Official Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon Trailer

So are they going to update the National Dex for the first time in the series' history, to inject Pokemon into a place there weren't before, or are these new Pokemon just going to be tossed in after Marshadow?

I know we don't actually have an answer right now, but it's just something to think about, I guess.
Honestly it feels like they should have updated the National Pokedex back in Gen V after we had a break from the wave of evos and prevos in Gen IV with totally new line of Pokémon

Yes, I agree. If they're willing to re-organize the National Dex for three new UBs, they should just re-organize the entire thing so Pokemon like Magmar or Eevee don't have family members all over the place.

Holy shit man, take this naysayers

This has risen my hype to a higher level than pre release SM. Day fucking 1, and no silly European delayed release either.
This looks already more promising than Platinum, exploring the Ultra Space is exactly what I wanted and the story seems significantly different too. The fact there are gonna be people and even a city in another world is mind blowing to me

The story looks really exciting. Sun and Moon had a pretty out there concept, but this is taking it even further.

I love UBs but that ability is really limiting. Just sort of forget it and treat them as regular monsters ability wise.

Everything new looks aceeeeeee.

Adhesive looks cute

Going to crazy new sci-fi worlds through worm holes sounds neat too. Bonus points if it can bring you to select regular world locations from previous entries' dimensions (like Emerald's Battle Frontier?, lol nevermind).

I mean it's a really good ability either way, especially since the UBS are usually already stacked towards one or two different stats

Adhesive: Great, we need a strong pure Poison
Burst: Way to steal Marowak's time to shine but I'm always okay with new Fire/Ghosts
Assembly: More like UB Ass / UB Layme. Do we need more of this typing after it's been proven to be one of the worst defensively?

Second theme in the trailer was already on the level of Colress so that's a good sign.

Well, I doubt the Ultracity is going to be anything more than the last dungeon before you catch Necrozma, but the game actually sounded exciting in this trailer.

Rock/Steel? Nooooooo

Was just about to say the same thing. Maybe if it was an offense inclined pokemon it could work but defensive? Did they already forget about Aggron?! Who they went through the trouble of trying to fix last gen by giving it a mega that removed rock?

In Gen III, Gamefreak had the chance to give abilities to old legendaries. These could have been unique to them, or not unique, but specifically balanced for them.

They gave them all Pressure.

ALL of them. There are no Gen I and II legendaries that don't have Pressure as their ability.

So I don't think being a "normal" Pokemon would help. Gamefreak is weird.

I was kind of meh on the Ultra games, but this trailer sold me finally. This extra-dimensional stuff looks rad!

I mean, I don't think Rock/Steel would be particularly great offensively either

You know, I just realized how hilarious it is that, if the trailers from before are anything to off of, Assembly tries to menace Hala... A fighting specialist

Rock is such a bizarre typing. It's defensively garbage, yet most Rock types are physically defensive tanks or walls. The only time Rock was ever a decent defensive typing was Gen 1 when Normal was the best attacking type in the game.

There is literally no way Assembly can be good. Even if it had the best defensive stats ever and recover, quad weakness to Fighting and Ground along with a weakness to Water will always kill it.

WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

My hype level has gone through space and time and I have a feeling that Ultra Sun and Moon is going to push gen 7 up on the same level as Gen 4 and 5.

Yeah he is, I am really hoping that I can use him on my team rather than having to wait post game to catch them all.

Whoa that looks pretty cool, heck had Decidueye not been there you wouldn't tell that it was a Pokémon game.

One of my biggest complaint of Sun and Moon was that the Ultra Beast felt tacked on and the game didn't make a big deal out of them.

But yeah Ultra Sun and Moon is changing things up and I wonder what the story will be since it's clear that the original story has drastically been changed.

I expected them to flesh out Ultra Space from before this game was even announced, but it looks like they're going above and beyond anyone's expectations in that regard.

Also happy that people are finally starting to drop the "quick cash grab" line, I mean come on people give gamefreak some benefit of the doubt. 3rd versions are always great.

Ah, I'm pretty sure he's going to be a post game sort of deal which means I'll never use it. :(

I'm just hoping we can get an earlier Type: Null this time. But with that one I can trade one over if we can't.

This is easily the best trailer yet. I wish they showed something like this earlier.

Ultra Beasts having unique spaces is fantastic news! I love actually hunting after Pokemon in unique areas. It's good to see that there will more new UBs then just Burst and Assembly.

I was hoping for Burst to be Fire/Fairy, but /Ghost isn't bad!

I'm guessing the story is almost exactly the same up to where Lusamine opens up the Ultra Wormhole, at that point everything will go nuts and the story will start focusing on Necrozma and the Ultra Beasts.

Fighting the UBs on their own turf sounds cool, but from the trailer it looks like just a bunch of linear walkways. I was hoping we'd get to explore more. I do wonder if we will be able to capture the UBs before the end of the story though.

I'm sure there are posts like mine that pop in from time to time, but these modern Pokemon games look so unappealing and confusing.

I'm not complaining about modern Pokemon creature designs, but from a game design perspective, these games don't look very accessible to someone who hasn't played Pokemon in 10+ years and look to share little of what made R/B/G/S/G/C so much fun (for me.)

Wormholes?? lol.
The last games had literally 20 hours of tutorials and were the most linear of all. Can't get any more accessible than that.

I'm guessing you'll be able to catch Ultra Beasts when you travel to Ultra Space, which would make them only available pretty late into the game, but not necessarily postgame. Also wouldn't be surprised if you can buy Beast Balls in Ultra Megalopolis

Adhesive is adorable man. Also it kinda looks like the start of an evolution line considering we seem to face those guys using one early on in the game. Traveling Ultraspace seems really cool as well.

I don't understand the fuck they are doing with this game, especially with the art direction. This is too much. Please do something clean again on Switch.

Currently at work so I haven't watched the trailer yet, but I'm happy to see the positive reactions. I was looking for an excuse to get Ultra Moon. Already took the release day off. Looking forward to it.

Is UB Adhesive the first poison legendary*?

*I know UBs are regular creatures from their dimension but they have legendary-esque stats

I think they'll just go after Marshadow, and US/UM will probably have its own mythical or two at the end.

Pokémon Story Cyber Sleuth.

I really want to find out how this "new pokémon in third version stuff" is going to work. Will vanilla Sun & Moon get updates? Or these new UB's locked to Ultra games?

like with OR/AS, the new content will just be in the new game most likely

Pokémon that live in the ultraspace, which it's the space between different universes/timelines.

Not that it matters much, but did they actually confirm anywhere it was a space between? I remember them just calling it another dimension.

It was never stated, but with the hints towards Looker in ORAS and
Anabel in SM
being from different universes, it seems plausible.
