Original:

We have gotten a lot of info since the last thread, so I compiled it and am making a new thread.

Quick Info Guide:
-Ashley is the blonde female character [Or not? Capcom U.S. says the page isn't official. IGN says it's Sherry Birkin.]
-Splitscreen returns (for two people)
-2-6 player co-op
-2-8 player online
-Moving/shooting is in
-Cover system is in
-Game takes places in 2013 *and* 10 years after Raccoon City (this is conflicting...)
-Info on a demo will arrive in the coming months
-It is implied co-op is seen in the trailer
-150 person development team, 600 total with all outsourcing/support staff
-In development for 2 years so far
-Note: When it says 1-2 offline, the same is listed on Gears of War 3's page, which has AI co-op partners: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/P...acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024d5308ab?nosplash=1
-If you would like to debate race representation in Resident Evil 6, please use this thread instead: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=459793

You can move/shoot and there's a cover system.

CVX's Premium Party Information:

Just rewatched the broadcast and no one said anything about the game's single player or co-op system.

Only new thing I can provide that I didn't tweet was the 150+ person dev team size. Other tidbits like "people may not be able to tell what is gameplay and what is a cutscene" go without saying.

(I'm reasonably fluent in Japanese so I wouldn't miss something crucial like this)

RE6 has the largest staff count in series history, said Hirabayashi. He gave a specific figure of around 150 people, but noted that when you add in overseas staff and other contributing parties, it comes to over 600.

anyone ask about PS move support?

I cant play RE5 without it now and I didnt pick up the HD release of RE4 since it didnt have it ether.

So, if you're planning on playing this game alone, you'll have to deal with the AI...

Guess it's co-op for the 1st playthrough then.

1-2, to me, implies you have a choice, though I guess it all depends on whether or not you're going to have a companion to escort, one that can be playable.

I am hyped for a demo.

The RE4 demo was the greatest demo I've ever played, and even the RE5 demo got me really hyped.

Ashley doubters silenced!

I feel there's fairly good evidence that this campaign has co-op in the trailer:

You can see his partner in the back here:

And playable:

Just make the co-op like Lost Planet 2 with two more people, and this is going to end up being the first Resident Evil game I finish.

Knew it was Ashley... not that this pleases me.

2-6 player co-op? How does that work in storymode? I'm feeling some Guardian Heroes level excitement right now.

-Moving/shooting is in
-Cover system is in

Oh boy here we go.

Still confused about the timeline, how old is everyone now?

Co-op is definitly back

Notice helena is on the RIGHT side of the screen (like Sheva)

and leon on the LEFT (like Chris)

It's so hard to accept this, why can't we just switch off the partners.
I want to be immersed instead of laughing my ass off with a friend every 10 secs, there are other games for that.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
The conflicting info on the time the game takes places makes me think that one of the scenarios precedes the others, but I thought they also said they all tie into eachother so that might not be right.

Did RE4 have cover mechanics in certain parts too?

It had one or two parts IIRC, atleast with ducking behind cover. RE5 let you do it on walls at specific parts, but only when the game prompted.

Maybe they'll do it like Halo. Where there's just another Chris/Leon and the difficulty slightly goes up. No story significance.

That trailer went from WOAH AWESOME ---> Oh okay, it's like 5 ---> Fuck you Capcom

Announcing co-op is just the final nail in the coffin for this game in my eyes, not interested. Let me know when Capcom decide to make a proper Resident Evil game .

To be honest RE5 was one of my favorite games to play with the PS Move, but now that I sold that will be control only. Which is perfectly fine for me.

Can't wait for some co-op! I just would like a little bit more RE4 flavor in RE6.

Oh, and I'm a bit afraid of the new controls, with cover system, etc... =/ But I guess that hoping for the old formula in RE is just a dream now.

Moving/shooting with a cover system and a heavy emphasis on co-op. Seems like they are basically making Gears of War at this point?

How many people are actually working at Capcom internally.

DD and this have huuge teams. And then there's the MH team, Revelations team and I guess the few guys that were on MML3. Any other internal Capcom game being worked on recently?

MH has more than one team I think.

Leon's and the Merc's segment don't really seem that way to me.

Beyond that even if Chris does have an increased feel unless they decide to use alot of the Gunweilding Majins then it should still have it's own unique feel compared to Gears.

At last check, I think Capcom said they were about 600-700 developers.

So, 150 per each of those two projects gets us to 300, then I'm assuming the engine and internal QA team are counted differently, so probably around another 100-150 there.

Then across a couple of smaller projects and Monster Hunter I can see why they say they're resource constrained.

This really sounds amazing to me. I loved RE5's co-op.

I've played all the significant RE games, but I'm just a casual fan so Capcom actioning up the formula doesn't really bother me. It scratches my Gears of War itch.
