The french Puissance-Nintendo has posted some new (old?) Tetris DS screenshots at their webpage. Hot.

edit: I replaced the images in this thread with untagged images directly from the Nintendo Press Site. Enjoy.

Nice. Haven't bought a tetris game since tetris dx, but I'm very likely getting this. U.S. date right now is 3/20 (according to ebgames)

I have no idea what is going on in some of those screens but I still can't wait for this to release. I'm definitely loving the wi-fi logo there in the option screen.

The art design looked hideous in past screens but those Metroid and Donkey Kong ones are pure hotness.

MINE!

I hope there's a mode without the Nintendo IP's slathered all over it. I just want Tetris.

Menu screen seems pretty lame and unimaginative.

I'm really curious about what's going on in that Donkey Kong one.

Do we really need to see the next 6 pieces?

I like the little tag that comes up when you score a TETRIS. I hope they do it for all of the different line scores.

Looks like there is a ton of variety, I like that. Maybe the IPs aren't as useless as I first thought. The Metroid and Yoshi ones look awesome, whatever the hell they are. Way more than simple skin swaps.

I hope you can't spin blocks on the ground.

I hope I don't need to preorder.

Blocks coming at both ends?! Wow, that is sweet.

You know, that got me thinking...

They could totally do two player tetris on one DS.

Just hold it sideways and each person has their own screen. Use ABXY as the dpad and L and R as the turning button.

Ew, that's a horrible idea.

Isn't the PSP Puyo Pop like this?

That Mario one looks to be classic.
As the levels proceed, Mario plays the game.
I don't know about the Koopa Troopa battle, though.
Zelda's the puzzle mode, but the tileset change seems weird.

Wow, digging the Mario VS Bowser battle mode hehe. Best of all, it looks down right fun, can't wait to play it. :)

Btw, thanks for posting the screen shots.

OK, my tolerance for Nintendo nostalgia only goes so far, but... jeebus does this have "day-1" written all over it.

I'm so fucking there.

How does Nintendo continue to conquer my soul?

<Drinky Crow> Because you are clouded with nostalgia and prefer shoddy third rate PSOne-era graphics on a low resolution non-filtered two screened gimmick of a handheld buy a PSP

One thing I wish it didn't do was show a ghost image of a block in the pile while it is still falling, makes it too easy.

That looks both intriguing and terrifying. Hopefully it will play like Tetris, because in some of those photos I don't know what the *bliip* is going on.

I have yet to see a game where that isn't a toggle.
