New Tetris DS screens.

That looks both intriguing and terrifying. Hopefully it will play like Tetris, because in some of those photos I don't know what the *bliip* is going on.

I'll bet you any amount of $ that there'll be an original tetris mode. Guaranteed.
And yeah...I have no idea wtf is going on in those screens, but it looks awesome!

I'm looking forward to playing all the modes. Hopefully there is an option to turn off the next blocks preview in classic mode.

<Drinky Crow> Because you are clouded with nostalgia and prefer shoddy third rate PSOne-era graphics on a low resolution non-filtered two screened gimmick of a handheld buy a PSP
So instead we're nostalgic with DC/PS2 level graphics or simply wide-screen games instead?

I have yet to see a game where that isn't a toggle.

Even if it is, it means other people can use it when I'm playing with them online, therefore it ruins the balance!

Anyway really hyped for this. I notice the items seem to be ripped straight out of Mario Kart, I can't wait to steal victory from the jaws of defeat using my blue shell!

So the blocks now come from the top and the bottom at the same time? Holy shit, that's going to be awesome.

The art style doesn't seem to entirely mesh at times, but I'm sure there will be a regular classic Tetris mode for those who just want regular Tetris with WiFi/online play.

This is going to sell a bazillion copies. Smart move on Nintendo's part.

I hope they make Tetris Attack/Puzzle League in the same manner ... different Nintendo themed backgrounds with WiFi play and new dual screen options/combos.

looking good. sounds like it might be playing awesome as well. Online as well. sale +1

when is this releasing?

Holy crap, I *need* this game! Again, hope it's as tight as Tetris/Tetris DX... I have a feeling it will be, and I wonder how hectic 10-player multiplayer's gonna be? :D Can't wait!

Yeah, I agree that it better have an endless OG mode... that's something I've wanted in the Puzzle Bobble series since the SNES version.

That Donkey Kong level is sweet... can't wait to hear the music in this game!

I'm starting to wonder about these background effects... how detailed are they? Is there a connection between how well you play and what happens?

The Yoshi's Cookie mode looks weird, if only because it's mixing between two different puzzle titles.

Some of those screens look really messy, to be honest. :/
But hey, as long as there's a classic mode it's cool with me. :)
Probably will wait for a price drop though (unless it's budget-priced already?).

NOW GIVE ME ONLINE TETRIS ATTACK/PANEL DE PON FOR DS!

is this by the WarioWare team? The art style with the photo like backgrounds/retro graphics seems very WarioWare. I'm not quite sure I like the look, but I'll wait until I see it in motion. The game looks hot as hell though. I hate when two must haves launch the same day, but this and Metroid will be instant purchases for me.

I hope we get nice quality remixes of the old Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, and Zelda themes ... that'll probably be a big bonus ... not only the stages, but having the music too.

by the looks of the ghosting of the block, i think there is a center axis that you play off of and you can flip which side you drop to at any point with you losing if either side reaches the top. could be perfect for setting up a 4-line tetris on once side while doing small breaks that dont fit that pattern on the other side.

needless to say i am pretty fucking excited. :D

So this is 10-player off 1 game card, right?

I'm probably just going to keep my regular DS then, and get a DS Lite to go with it. I can use the other DS for multiplayer goodness.

Never thought of the rotating idea, however not sure about it as there is a 'next' list on both screens, I think maybe each screen takes turns in dropping a block. This would really mess with your brain when the speed ramps up!

I'm guessing it'll be $29.99 at launch. If it's as good as it looks, it should sell about a billion units (wish it were a pack-in on the Lite!).

very good point. i just dont see any reason why the block would be ghosted on each side.

So you get to play minigames besides Tetris?

Not sure, but I think this is like puzzle fighter, where when you get rid of the blocks, your character does a combo or something. Don't know how it's gonna work with some of those games, though.

I wish they used the SNES games, instead of the NES ones. They don't look too good. I'm still gonna buy this bitch, though. :D

Wow that screen looks considerably better when mapped onto a DS.

I believe they used NES games because those might appeal to an older audience ... everyone recoginizes the original Donkey Kong or Super Mario Bros. for instance.

I hope that no small part of that sex machine is made of a rare element, because Nintendo is going to manufacture a fuckillion of them.
The only element is love.

Never have screenshots that are so completely incomprehensible made me so excited about a game. I don't even want to see movies before I buy the damn thing.

I know! What is going on...how can that look like so much fun? And I suck at Tetris anyway

Don't worry, there will be no snaking this time. This is going to become verboten on corporate networks for the massive bandwidth drain it's going to cause.. 10 players battles.. :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

:lol Yeah. If there was going to be a DS game that convinced strangers to play against each other (train journeys, flights etc) then Tetris is it...if this game doesnt achieve it, I can't think what will
