oled is great when you plan to buy a new tv in 3 or 4 years. Image retention, burn in, loss in brightness, constant fear of static images, lower overall brightness compared to lcd...

and for me the oversaturated colors of those qleds just feels unnatural for me.

since we are already taking about sony all the time: i like their master series led tvs (excpect the slow android tv)
Have a Samsung QLED. You can play around with the settings, IMO it isn't so unnatural if you don't use the Standard shit. By the way, original NES games looking great on this TV😂

But they could share it, but all the time we just get some vague info which may or may not be true so he cannot be held accountable in the end. And what about the first part of my comment? Do you think that's reasonable?
developer said it that it is running on 4k + 90fps. do you know better than developers whom creating that game? i don't. let's wait and we will see what next gen capable of.

90fps will be an issue if some low end TVs get released that will support 120hz but not VRR.
90fps on a fixed 120hz display will look choppy. so I hope they will implement a 60fps lock just to be save.

and yes I know that VRR is an HDMi 2.1 feature, that doesn't mean all TVs have to support VRR just like not all PC screens that use the latest DisplayPort standard support VRR
I'm deep in the TV's shit, LG C9, CX will have full support + G-Sync for CX. 2020 TCL 8-6 Series will have full support (8K/4K). Sony's 2020 X900H is said to do so as well but wait for confirmation, other high end Sony TV's won't so far.

the lead graphics engine designer laughs at me for stopping every 30 seconds to just rotate the camera and look at the sights and listen to the sounds of their game world. "Everything in the game is PBR with multiple sources of volumetric lighting. All of the characters in this game are unique. You will never see the same character model more than once." As I am playing I realize how difficult this game is. I play several games competitively multiple genres (Smite,R6,SFV,CoD,BF,League) but I am getting my ass handed to me. I take the lead character out into a hallway and two enemies rush into the room shooting and moving in what appears to be a tactical pattern. "Is this fucking guy shooting at me while the other guy is trying to circle around to flank me?" he laughs again. "Yep, suppressive fire." As the enemy shoots at me I take note of the deformation of the geometry on display, chunks of cement give way revealing the metal pipes underneath that hold the structure together. Everything is based in reality including what happens when you shoot people or get shot. Its beautiful but it aint pretty.

I sit the controller down (I'm about to die again anyways) "The game is definitely running at 60fps" he shakes his head at me "No its running at 90fps locked. native 4k." dumb stare "On which machine?" he smiles "Both of them."

Two hours and several drinks later

When I asked about the performance of both consoles his response was "Both have the same target we will see if either of them hit that target. " I pushed further and asked what the target was and his response was simply."Above 12" That is not for the XseX or the PS5,from what I can gather internally both machines are targeting very high performance which lines up with hearing earlier that the machines would both be $499 with both companies Taking a loss.

Notes
The gdk they are working with is not the final kit for either machine and XseX is currently ahead in terms of sheer power. Sonys tool set is much more complete and refined.
The trailer is all actual game play. Not in engine but game play.
Every developer or engineer I have ever met day drinks.
Osiris, can you tell us if this will be a launch game for both systems? It definitely sounds like something I would want to pick up!

To run stable 60FPS your Game have to run over 60FPS.

Maybe they have old devkits with lesser power (and the engine runs now better on actual devkits). So theres room for better physics or graphics.

I don't see the problem with 90FPS at this point in time 🤷🏻‍♀️

Osiris, tell us about the game Bluepoint
Just a name. At least this. You're saying that Xbox and their line-up are just " Kill it"
Therefore, you should know what's on Sony's side
What you should do. Just give it a name ? What do you say? Demon's Souls remake ?
What if it isn't?
I only know for a fact the games that I have seen. I can tell you that yes Bluepoint is making a game that will indeed have a name attached to it. Hope that clears things up.

He bolded LOT in (a lot) and another hint is (Killing it).

So Killing it is probably Killing Instinct, and LOT searching all xbox games Wikipedia:

I came up with the new Lord of The Rings? Which is a multiplat, I think.

i take everything how he says it is. i don't dismiss it, nor i believe in it. in the end, we will know if he lied or not.
But that's my point, we won't ever know it. There is nothing concrete in what he ever said. Nothing at all. Everything he says can be either true or not in the end. If he at least showed us a screenshot or even part of a screenshot of said game than I would gladly take back what I say. But we both know this won't happen. Or heck, not even a screenshot just something more concrete like the name of a character or something.

Guys let that sink in for a second.

Both machines are targeting over 12TFs. Even if we get $599 consoles. It'll be worth it. The games these consoles will be able to run will be absolutely amazing.
And another good thing is that they'll raise the bar HIGH for upcoming PC releases. Devs won't need to create games using these weak ass consoles with jaguar CPUs and then go up the settings for stronger machines. They can design for better hardware and then just go up and up for the PCs.

Interesting, you have a developer clearly telling OsirisBlack OsirisBlack that we'll have to wait and see if target specs will be hit.

Yet you have other insiders claiming to have hard specs on paper. I think it's safe to say ALL are target numbers right now.

Btw, thank you OsirisBlack OsirisBlack

he already said it. he will be first whos come with gameplay and interview with one of those game's developer. he will released it on the same day as reveal event because of NDA, but he will be first, because non others will have this privilege. so, yeah, we will know it. this info is Concrete.

Well yeah, I suppose I have to make do with this. I hope we don't have to wait much more because this waiting with no official info at all is killing me.

If you can, can you let us know what platform you played on. If it was PS5 how did the controller feel with the haptics, if xbox has anything changed there other than the new share button?

I would say don't throw your money on a dying tech, OLED. It hit it's peak at 600-nits and Panasonic managed to hit 1000-nits (HDR standard) with a whaky cooling tech that we're not sure if it's sustainable as it's just shown on CES 2020. 2020 TCL 8-Series (8K) and 6-Series (4K) will have 100% HDMI 2.1 support for gaming. Sony will have only one model that's mid-range will support all HDMI 2.1 features as leakers/insiders say, and that's XH90 (X900H), 4K. Samsung doesn't support Dolby Vision but the open-source HDR10+, and both probably gonna do that.

We should open a thread about what TV to pick when all consoles are revealed, I guess.

If this was a PS5 launch line up 🥵🥵🥵
When this first came around, I thought to myself that there was no chance that it is fake. I mean just look at it how brilliantly they have designed the 2 in the Bloodborne logo. Bloodborne is my no 1 fav game this generation. I don't think it needs a sequel. It did have some problems but its still so good.

It's hard to believe the over 12 talk could be reality. I had assumed neither would hit that mark.
