Ok, so this is from that russian guy who predicted/leaked DS on PC, HZD on pc, and CP2077 delay via ree:

The Russian is Anton Logvinov. He correctly called Death Stranding coming to PC before it was announced, Cyberpunk 2077 being delayed, and Horizon Zero Dawn coming to PC (He even said it would be announced around early year, around February). I couldn't find anything he said about BOTW coming to PC though, but I haven't had enough time to translate all of his videos yet. It seems like he has at least some insider feeding him info. The only prediction that he has made for the next gen systems is this one though: https://bgr.com/2019/12/23/xbox-series-x-might-have-a-huge-advantage-over-the-ps5-at-launch/
From that article: "Logvinov claims the PS5 will not have a single major exclusive at launch, offering buyers enhanced versions of popular PS4 exclusives instead. The Xbox, meanwhile, will get anywhere between 12 to 16 exclusives right on day one, although not all of them will be major releases."
Osiris is right, ms is killing it, it i this case being the ps5 launch.

if true, my guess is that have been milking gaming under the assumption that MS and Nintendo would continue to be fuck ups, and ps5 was guaranteed success. When tokyo started getting reports of MS moves and Nintendo resurgence, they fired the idiots responsible and the new managment hasnt had time time to get/make content.

it is a pretty damning indictment if old sie management.

ouch. this would be a fuck up of epic proportions. i will definitely get banned again for making a sexually charged analogy of sony getting fucked.

i am not buying it though. Horizon 2 should be ready after almost 4 years of dev. gt7 should be ready after 3+ years. bluepoint remake would have 2 years and 9 months of dev time. more than enough for a remake. thats three next gen games already.

i hope so. Thing to remember is that this is translated from russian, so nuance may be lost. Either way, Osiris has been heaping praise on MS’ launch stable, and saying zero about sony’s. It makes no e3 a little more understandable beyond e3 sux.

People make way to much of an issue of games being available on PC. Very few people have a PC with gaming capability equivalent to a current gen console. Most PCs are low power laptops now, and while AMD has some APUs on the horizon that are both low-power and have PS4 level graphics, the bar will already be shifting forward before they are mainstream. Console gamers are largely cheap (on hardware), they want to pay $400 - $500 for a box and know that they are set for anything with that label on it. PC is a lot trickier, gpu manufactures practically pay developers to make games that require increasingly powerful GPUs.

I think the console market will carry on as it always has, the bigger risk to consoles is streaming (being replaced by a streaming stick, etc.).

The idea that Sony won't bring games, doesn't seem right to me. I'm sure they'll have enough, realistically console launches are fairly dry anyway. That also seems like quite a lot of new games for MS, I can understand them possibly having a few more (potentially things they've held back), just to act as a narrative change. 16 seems like too high a number. LOL

I believe the PS5 will be 37tf. I have my reasons for this.

I also think the SX will be 36.9tf but will be vastly under powered, as it uses carrier pigeons to deliver textures.

Both will need nuclear reactors to power them, and polar bear anus flesh to cool them. This won’t be supplied.

I have my insiders. I got you Gaf, don’t worry, this is legit, I just read it in a pastebin.
Stop it. You're making too much sense.

Get used to it. It will start with a couple of older games and then move to all of them.
Reality is that Sony would make more money off one game sale on PC than on one sale of an actual PS4.
That's why fanboys got to be careful. You spent all your time shitting on MS for putting their games on PC, and now that egg is running down your face.
As I have said, these companies know game streaming will be a big thing, and Sony knows it as well. They are getting things ready to have their whole catalog ready for PSNow , which will be available on PC as well as PS.
Its happening people. Get ready for it. Sony just making sure they dont get left behind when MS, Google and Amazon roll it out hard.

Horizon 2 being close to ready in the first year would make sense and explain why Sony is releasing it on PC. They hope some pc gamers will play and love it, and then buy a PS5 to play the new game.

This game was first promoted with that trailer in early 2013 (Wiki says Jan 2013). By the time the game comes out, it'll be almost 8 years since the trailer.

Would you be happy if PS5 were 12.25 TF?
Edit: Would you be happy if it has more TFs than RTX 2080 Super?

this explains death stranding's awful sales. it charted on NPD but sony never revealed the sales numbers. it sold half the number of units Days Gone sold in UK and Days Gone itself sold worse than almost all sony exclusives this gen in u.k. in december death stranding didnt even chart psn's top 20.

maybe the game was too polarizing but it got a lot of goty hype and i expected it to do slightly better in december but it did far worse. maybe people are just waiting for the pc version.

this is going to be really interesting to watch. sony exclusives were finally starting to sell well this gen but now sales might cool down again.
Dunno if DS can be used as a litmus test; the game is just esoteric AF and even without the PC announcement I dunno if the sales would've been much better. If we see something similar happen with another PS exclusive that goes day-and-date with PC or the PC version is only a few months later, that might be a better indication.

...except something like SpiderMan. Not only because I doubt that'd ever go to PC anytime soon, but because even if it did, PS version sales wouldn't see a dent imo. SpiderMan as a brand is just that strongly associated with PlayStation these days.

Would definitely explain the abrupt departures like Layden. Also would give further credence to Ariel/Oberon chips being more or less PS5 silicon.

Well I guess Its good that I have low expectations going forward...
Good luck on tht one lol you are so lost if you think Sony aren't going to kill it this gen like thy Been doing🤦‍♂️

Bloodborne and TLOU have been on PS Now for years. This doesn't mean they're going to put all their games on PC and PS Now day one.

All PS4 games are going to be playable on PS5 it wouldn't hurt sales because the generation is about to end.

yeah, except guy has his sources. Could be lying of course. Need OsirisBlack OsirisBlack

also, no major exclusives, not no exclusives.
The way he talked about it sounds like he was saying there would be no exclusive at all for ps5 if you read what he said about xbox.

He got the first part right about the delays and pc, but he definitely got the 2nd part wrong.

with decision like that, they are making no favors for entire PS platform. basically they are cutting the branch on which they are sitting them self.

In light of everything from the announcements of day and past. I think the ps5 will be 8-9TFs as much as I hate it, just thinking about Sony has only talked about "features" and hardly about performance(outside of the "Ultra fast SSD")

Doesn't sounds like a product that will be neck and neck spec wise with the XSX. The recent changes in leadership throughout the ps4's life cycle is a big indication of that.

Not at all as thy are simply following the strategy of Psnow, don't release exclusives for several years, when the sales die down put it on Psnow and some on PC. Thts a win win for them. I don't understand why anyone would see this strategy as a negative. If it was simultaneous release with pc then I could maybe understand. Trust me, noooooooo one is going to wait two years plus for a game like tlou2 knowing thy could play it now on PS5/4 or whatever. What are my worries always with games? Is a company going to dumb it down bcus thy have to factor in lower denominator console specs and thts not happening here. Other ppls worries? Oh im one of the 5% tht has a gd gaming pc now I don't have to buy a ps5 lol bullshit Sony isn't releasing its exclusives simultaneous and many not at all.

The ps4 is 1.8 teraflops lol and BTW we don't know how many tflops is nextbox, same way we don't know how many is ps5.

Vfxveteran stating that both Xlauncher and PS5 having GPU almost equal to 1080Ti made me very nauseous. I was hoping close to 2060, 2070, 2080, so consoles could start off this decade at a good start, but that's kind of sinking in to me now. Although dont forget it does have Ray Tracing, and does have RDNA. so it could be somewhere between 1080 and 2080 series.

Xbox failed hard sold laughable amounts of consoles. Switch is basically a handheld at this point for all kinds of reasons it doesn't even compete on the console segment even remotely. and PS4 isn't selling record numbers of consoles what u would aspect when there is no competition even remotely. I will be shocked if it even breaks PS2 numbers a area with far less gamers by the way.

The market is shrinking even while the gaming market is blowing up massively. It doesn't take a rocketscientist to see why microsoft is focusing on PC, nintendo moves more into mobile and now also sony starts to explore PC.

Consoles are a dead end.

streaming will def take over but tell us what ps2’s competition was? OG xbox? gamecube? dreamcast? all sold FAR less than xb1 and switch so your assertion is just plain wrong

I wouldn’t trust vfx on this. Iirc he said around 1080, then he changed it to between 1080 to 1080ti for both consoles. Dude kept trying to downplay consoles meanwhile pushing pc master race.

Yea, I think you guys really need to consider that the PC is the frontrunner in this next-gen race. It's going to be way more powerful and exclusives are going to be fewer and fewer. The weather is moving in the direction of game selling instead of hardware selling.

A 1080Ti is faster than a 2070.

Don't think consoles will ever die in the same way that pre-built PC's won't die. People will pay for the convenience of a device that just plays games out of the box - particularly in certain emerging markets. Maybe it'll be a niche, but I think it'll still exist in some form.

Maybe, but that's not what I'm hearing. Devs are tired of managing 3 platforms every single generation. It would be much easier to have 1 platform and make the best vision of the director on said platform. The consoles will never catch up to the hardware innovations and so all the money is pouring into the development of games for all platforms (or at least on PC). PC is the agnostic hardware here -- that's why devs develop on it first and foremost. You want a true RDNA 2.0? Buy an AMD. You want the best Nvidia has to offer? Buy the RTX. You want a lighting fast SSD setup? Buy NvMe. You love AMD CPUs? Buy the Ryzen. etc.. etc..

There is a lot of reasons because it set precedents to for new Sony first-party games:

  • Decreasing quality due being focused in multiplatform development.
  • Less specific use of platform features (I don't know what features PS5 will have but the changes to use it going multiplatform is near 0).
  • Less PS5 sales and so less user pool for multiplayer games.
  • PC games mess up the consoles multiplayer.
  • Less focus in PlayStation ecosystem.
I can go on.

It will just become like the bland and boring platform that everybody hates.

Maybe the way now is go Nintendo.

It is a huge mistake too... exclusives take Sony to the top and now they will just open again to failures.
I believe they will lose sales and userbase.

You can forget Sony games selling over 10 million being released on the small PS5 userbase and PC.
Dude, HZD is a 3 year old game. You want to tell me Sony won't sell their exclusives in millions because people will wait for 3 years every time? Most of the sales come in those first years. So whatever happens after that is bonus. Release them everywhere. They made their money and numbers already.

And you seriously think all these casuals are going to stop buying cheap consoles and suddenly jump on the expensive and complicated PC bandwagon?

C'mon man.

If it was 6 months I might've agreed with you partially (casuals still gonna buy cheap consoles anyway so doesn't matter), but 3 years? Who gives a toss?

A GTX 1080 Ti is as powerful as a RTX 2080, the RTX 2080 is just a 1080 Ti with Hardware Ray Tracing (RTX) if you didn’t know.

Nah. Next-gen is whatever hardware can show a leap in standard hardware. Next-gen visuals was here for over a year or more on the PC. When the PS5/XSX come out along with Ampere, it will be next-next-gen from the developers point of view, because they'll be making their games based on the best GPU on a PC and porting down to consoles --- again.
