"We've got Monster Hunter 4, and 5. We didn't even ask for 5, Tsujimoto saw Vita Heaven and decided to make another one just for kicks."

They surely must have something big for the Japanese audience to be doing it now. They usually announce these at 9AM and today they waited until after the PS4 conference finished.
That's an optimistic way to look at it, hopefully they'll deliver. Maybe they've been saving new info about X for a time like this?

Unlike the Sony conference which I came into with low expectations, and still managed to be disappointed, I actually have some high expectations for this thing. Here's hoping they have at least one interesting new game announcement.

While I agree this is unlikely to be overshadowed much, announcing anything right after Sony's conference isn't smart at all. Night time is the better time.

I wish for TWEWY 2. I think it's about time for this. Square Enix need to redeem themselves after their PS Meeting segment.

I am conflicted.

On one hand, we have situations like Bravely Default and Dragon Quest (Pirate Slime/Terry's Wonderland/VII).

On the other hand, Project X Zone happened.

What level of excitement should I be at for great Japanese game announcements?!

Considering Japan is predominantly Handheld land there will be much more to talk about. As interesting as the PS4 thing was it didn't give a lot to talk about besides for fanboy wars and the event itself was totally western audience focused.

I hope this isn't just dates and shit but more of a reaffirmation that the 3DS is currently the keystone of the Japanese gaming industry.

The PS4 reveal was entirely Western-focused, nothing that really grabs that Japanese audience at all.

Is the 3DS capable of handling Persona 4? From what I've seen of the PS2 version I'd say yes, but I've only seen a few videos.

Could that ever happen? I REALLY want to play that game but don't want to buy a Vita for it (yet).
