What the fuck is this thing? Leave the 3DS alone already, put focus on the Wii U.
Times have changed. Nowadays even kids (8yo+) tend to want and get mid-to-high-range smartphones and tablets. Not the cheap chinese knock-off for kids, no, the iProducts, Nexi and Galaxies!

I don't understand it not having a clamshell. That shit can't fit in kids pockets.
Despite 2DS's target market being kids, I do think the device has potential to appeal to more hardcore fans as well. It's much more comfortable to hold, for starters. Also, it's a much less expensive means to acquire a foreign system for access to software blocked off by region-locking, and I don't doubt that whenever the system finally shows up in Japan we'll see plenty of U.S. and European gamers importing one for themselves
They really missed out here. No 3D means they could have done something like this:
I'd buy 4.
Lack of a second stick and missing two triggers are the big stumbling blocks.None of these are compelling reasons.
Eager to see more impressions in the coming days. Especially regarding comfort.

Just put it in sleep mode will do the same thing.
As mentioned, should have been one big ( touch ) screen. Doesn't hinder 3DS compatibility ( per se ), but introduces a world of potential.
Nintendo Stans?
I'm seriously debating how to tell my wife we need two of these.
every time I would pull this out to play Animal Crossing or Ocarina, the fucking kid will freak out and want it.
Wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo's next portableThey really missed out here. No 3D means they could have done something like this:

Why would they bother giving it StreetPass? Who is going to carry that thing around? You can't throw it in a bag else the screens will get scratched up.
Ah, I get it. It's all about selling the accessories. Club Nintendo console pillowcases for this monstrosity.
That image of the adults playing is from the announcment video. To be fair, however, the focus of that video is very much centred on kids using the device. The device's suitability for adults is essentially considered a bonus; at least, that's how that video presents it.
Too big.
It's time to go back to basics.
This device just scream "please ignore us as a serious consumer electronic company".
Apart from being one of the ugliest pieces of hardware I've seen, I just don't really understand the point of this.
This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. And mono? Really? I guess I can kind of understand the target market though. My 5 year old brother plays games on that crappy leap pad tablet thing.
