Just a little curious question. Why does the Nintendo Downloads thread happen monthly, yet every week there is a new thread dedicated to each PSN and XBLA update, pretty much? Not that I mind, but I'm curious.

Because individual threads for each release make them easy to miss. My personal experience has been I check the PlayStation Store regularly and I read GAF daily but I somehow manage to miss that Soul Reaver had been released until several weeks later. Same with Resident Evil 2.

Personally I really like these combined threads.

WOW, it's coming out here? And only $5?! :O

$5 is the right price for it, it is great for that immediate shot but the arcade ramp up means that level 3 or 4 is where you'll stop. However, for $5 it's worth it if only to break it out at parties.

So Phoenix Wright is coming out in Europe.
And still no news on ExciteBike or Castlevania. =)
I think I read somewhere that EB is scheduled for a February release. Yeah, I know but at least we are getting it :lol .

I usually do these when I wake up Friday morning before I head out. It's also completely unnatural for me to see these in roman characters, so I don't tend to catch it. Seeing as you're the only one to comment I'm guessing the majority of people in this thread don't look at anything other than the VC releases anyway. I used to do full translations too but nobody cared.

Dark Void Zero is releasing tomorrow on DSiWare. 500 points.

News courtesy of the composer, Bear McCreary.
Yes! This is going to be so awesome! I would have never guess we would get such awesome retro gaming from this generation. Capcom will have my thanks in the form of cash. Also, why havent they made Mega Man 9 available for download on DS yet? It would most certainly be the most instant double dip Ive ever made, and it would cost them next to nothing.

HOLD UP. Bear did the 8-bit score?! INSTANT BUY.

Apparently, Bear's retro-themed version of the Dark Void Main Theme helped convince Capcom to make Dark Void Zero. So, yeah.

This is where I wish I had a DSi. Any word on the multiplatform release dates yet?

Why did nobody tell me that the Art Academy titles were done by Headstrong? :D

Did it matter? :lol

I thought it was kind of interesting, but yeah, I like them for what they are, regardless of who made them.

Yeah, but it is a big letdown that you can't save more than one painting if you want to continue to work on it. And once it's finished, you can't refine a picture you have saved to the DSi Album. I realize that resaving the JPEG would fuck up the compression but come on...

Alas, Capcom suspended development on Dark Void as it began to evaluate the SNES™. Before long, the game was shelved and drifted, unnoticed, into the annals of gaming history. Dark Void became a legendary "lost project" at Capcom. Now, nearly 20 years later, Dark Void is back! To commemorate the game's humble origins, Capcom has commissioned this recreation of the original 8-bit classic, now re-titled Dark Void Zero, on the Nintendo DSi™ system. You play as Rusty, the first human born in the Void, who must take on the Watchers in a quest to stop their domination of Earth. With the aid of Nikola Tesla and his state-of-the-art rocket pack, Rusty must take down the Watchers and their minions across three intense levels of action and intrigue.

Play as Joe Musashi, the master ninja known to his enemies only as "The Shinobi." This battle is not one you must fight alone, as this is the first game in the Shinobi series to feature your ninja attack dog, Yamoto, who will charge foes on command, leaving them open to a powerful drop kick. Use your mastery of ancient ninja technique to topple the crime syndicate - the Neo Zeed Corporation - and free the foreign dignitaries they have taken hostage in New York City. Good luck, and may the ninja spirits help guide you in your journey.

So if I got one of the Chronos Twins titles soon, which one should I get?

My guess would be the DS one, since that was the platform it was originally designed for, the two screen thing makes sense, and it was originally a retail release there.

Wait, so this is the mythical title mentioned on Nintendo Week? How is it mythical?

The mythical title is Dark Void Zero, per its initial description at the top of the PR, which doesn't really make any sense.

Huh? Nintendo week specifically said the following though: "We're also going to check out a mythic virtual console title."

Dark Void Zero isn't even a virtual console title, much less mythic since it's all PR bs about having been originally developed in the 80s.

It's advertising. They're pretending it's an NES game that was never released.

Yeah, I think the Dark Void Zero thing is really cute. I'm surprised that some people actually took it at face value, though.

Chronos Twins was originally made for GBA then to DS. The problem with the DS iteration, compared to the WiiWare one, is that it is harder to view both times at the same time. The game was somewhat meant to be played with both worlds easily seen on one screen. So, I'd imagine the WiiWare version to be easier in that regard.

Unfortunately, it is double the price of the DSiWare version. Still, Chronos Twins has quality gameplay fit for either purchase.

Oh, and I definitely want Dark Void Zero, but don't have the systems for it. D: And I'm not in a PC gaming mood recently.

I'll probably get Dark Void Zero, though it looks a bit challenging for my tastes.

They said they're going to check out a mythic Virtual Console title. They didn't say the mythic VC title was releasing this week, they're just going to check it out this week.

All DSi Ware sounds good. Im getting them all *maniacal laugh*.

I know I can't resist the power of Me and My Dogs.

(is that a misprint, btw? It says "Wii Points"...)

Sign me up for Chronos Twins, though. At least, when my DSi comes back from repair tomorrow. :D

Wish they'd release more than one VC game a week...

I think they were only doing that late last year so they could release Super Smash Bros. 64 as VC release # 500 around Xmas time. Since they hit that goal, its probably back to 1 a week.

So Chronos Twins DSiWare is the full Euro retail cart release, on DSiWare? Bought, if so.

Still, Europe DSiWare got Zombie BBQ or whatever it was called...
