As a heavy SNES player, I'm still waiting for the day that Nintendo lets you choose Y and B instead of B and A on VC games. They still use the Y for run/action and B for jump in plenty of newer games, like Mario 3Dland, so I don't get why they are stuck on only using A and B for the VC. Super Mario All-Stars and the Super Gameboy let you choose, but Nintendo seems to have chosen to ignore that ever since.

I love that you people don't get to choose. Adapt or die.

Playing Fun! Fun! Minigolf TOUCH! made me ponder a few things...

1) This is actually fun, unlike the Wii version.

2) Mii head + "human-esque" proportions = Ewwwww.

2) Why don't most 3DS games include a "suspend save" like DS games generally did? FFMT is yet another game that requires you to play through a large portion of a game before you can save -- which seems silly considering that it's on a handheld. Dillon's Rolling Western could use one too, although I'll excuse Sakura Samurai due to the short length of each level. How are we getting handheld games that aren't designed for optimal handheld playing?

A wee bit touchy there? I can play with the A and B fine, but I happen to prefer the Y and B setup. It's more comfortable for me, and plenty of modern games use it on the console. I just hate that Nintendo regressed after offering the option on earlier offerings. Super Mario World nailed the button positioning. I think Kid Icarus 3D classics is the first classic Nintendo game I've seen with the option to remap buttons in years.

All the 3D Classics let you remap buttons.

All 3DS games have a suspend save feature. Just close the lid.

Dillon's Rolling Western (AU$15) - excellent / total expected play time: 40+ hours of play / very highly recommended (if you like exploring and being challenged)

Fun! Fun! Mini-Golf (AU$7.50) - good / total expected play time: 2-3 hours of play / recommended (if you like mini-golf)

Booted the shop for a change yesterday and Super Mario Bros just looked offensive for 5 euros. Don't know why that title particular, but it just somehow feels like a fucking dirty price point.

Does it have cross functionality with Wii?

Anyone watch the video for that new awesome puzzler coming from Nintendo? It's like a free falling version of Tetris that reminds me of that japanese game show, Human Tetris. Except it has freaky little Aztec Totem Pole guys.

Anyway it looks awesome and the 3D has both pop out and depth running at the same time!

I saw that. Apparently it's made by a company that makes 3DS cases and screen protectors. Weird. I don't know if I'd be interested in it.

Thanks to this thread I just bought Punch-Out!! It's 6:00am and I can't sleep so it seemed like a good idea. It plays awesomely! Even with the placement of the start button it's not an obstacle for me so far but I only played past Bald Bull then put it to sleep. I didn't even know this was out so thanks GAF!

I HATE YOU EVEN MORE KONAMI, Leave the Turbo Grafx games alone, I'm gradually trying to own the whole library since I can't afford them all at once.

Nintendo UK have begun finally using QR codes for eShop content. Only two so far, but it's a start!

AFAIK, the demo is not available if your 3DS region is set to Norway, Sweden or Denmark.
Correct, because of the low ages of the girls if I'm not mistaken, video game pedophilia is a big problem over here you know, or whatever the reason was to have the game banned. Or maybe it was seen as pornographic, can't have that type of content on a console targeted for kids, or something ike that.

It looks more like some sort of shakeup at Irem. Maybe they'll have a change of heart once TG16 for 3DS VC rolls around.

So so so disappointed Mike Tryson wasn't included. Ugh. It was an instant purchase until I realized that.

They took him out of the Player's Choice release back on NES, and he's never been back. They didn't continue the license, so he won't be back. Break out your NES!

If you want to play it right now without waiting, Thruspace has been on WiiWare for ages. :p

It's a perfect fit for the 3DS, though.

Is R Type III for SNES any good? I remember wanting an R Type game during the 16-bit days but remembered Super R Type getting trashed for slowdown and flicker. I remember the screens for III looking cool and colorful, and vaguely remember reading how this time Irem made the game more suited for the SNES architecture so it had no noticeable slowdown or flicker. If its any good, I may downlod it before it is yanked. Has anyone here played it who could give a thumbs up or down?

Super R-Type was my first R-Type and is my second favorite in the series after R-Type Final. I finally got R-Type 3 on VC a few years ago and it's great, but it's brutally hard. I would still buy both right now if I knew the option wasn't going to be there later.

downloaded DOA demo and man it looks and feels nice.

shame the CPU too easy in the full version as I would be buying it if their was a challenge.

I agree, looks great plays nice, but played through without losing once with three different characters. This is my first DOA experience since I owned DOA2 on the DC, and it looked and played as good if not better than the DC classic.

Oh, must have missed that.

Edit: I can't find any information on Google about this. When did this happen? Any articles?

They functionally went under after the Tsunami, cancelled all in-progress games, and all of the named staff members have moved on. The Irem space in PlayStation Home was closed down, a number of their licensed titles on many systems all got pulled, and they haven't announced a new game or any development since. They're gone.
