It was listed as Q2 for Europe but there's been no word at all for North America.

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/23/peep-this-european-3ds-release-schedule/

eShop:
Dillon's Rolling Western - February 22
Fun! Fun! Minigolf TOUCH! - March
SpeedThru: Potzol's Puzzle - April
3D Solitaire - April
Art of Balance TOUCH! - Q2
Colors! 3D - Q2
Mutant Mudds - Q2
Picross e - Q2
Marvel Pinball 3D - Q2

Dillon's, Minigolf, Potzol's, Art of Balance and Colors came out in Europe sure enough. I don't think 3D Solitaire did though. Still, this list has been right a lot more often than it has been wrong so far. I'd really like to get in amongst Picross e and Mutant Mudds too.

I love Blackjack and girls, so this is a must buy for me

I wonder if the girls are "losing"....uhm...clothes and stuff, like in that supershitty Wiiware poker game

Art of Balance is pretty good, but it's a little bit clinical and the "Worlds" are a bit of a joke. What the hell is up with the way it auto-zooms every now and again, screwing up your placement. And sometimes it's a real chore getting items to the very top of a tower/the screen. It's a real fiddle stacking a high tower. Weird.

Still, very addictive.

DSiWare, eShop game, 3DS demo, 3DS VC, and Wii VC. Everything this week but a WiiWare game.

Has Nintendo finally read my Club Nintendo surveys and realized they can release Game Boy games and eSHop games at the same time?

May 31, 2012

Nintendo eShop

Nintendo eShop + Nintendo DSiWare™
99Seconds – 99Seconds is a fun, retro-style video game in which you can modify time to avoid all kinds of danger. Dodge enemies and use SlowDown to slow, stop and even go back in time. (For Nintendo 3DS / Nintendo DSi™)

Also new this week:
Kakuro by Nikoli (Nintendo eShop)
Metal Slug 3 (Virtual Console™ for Wii™)
Wow, not a bad week at all.

Rayman GBC is not "the first game in the Rayman series," unless this is a previously unannounced eShop port of the original.

Hey, maybe NOA will release all three Wario Land games on the eShop for E3. One can dream.

I'm a bit confused on Rayman. I was reading Wiki (cause I didn't really know anything about the first entry in the series) and came across this:

Wiki said:
Ubisoft also released Rayman for Game Boy Color, which contained all the Rayman 2 music and worlds, but had the storyline of Rayman. It was later re-released on the Virtual Console for the Nintendo 3DS on May 31, 2012.

No idea if that is accurate or not but I was just really confused as to what that meant.

In the IGN review for Rayman GBC, it mentions that the title supports the Ubi key system to access hidden levels. What the hell is that?

AFAIK, Rayman GBC is an original game only loosely based on Rayman 1. Different level designs and everything.
Having replayed both the original Rayman and Rayman GBC recently, its definitely a mix between Rayman 1 level designs and original content. Its hard to notice the old stuff off the bat since the visual presentation is so different. For example im pretty sure the Candy Chateau levels are the exact same in the gbc version, the only difference being they take place in a dark forest instead.

A lot of the new level designs were very good and on par with the original though. i rather liked the bonus world you unlocked by perfectly clearing all the levels.

Early Ubisoft gbc games all had this feature. You had to find the Ubikey "hidden" in the game, and it let you use the IR transfer function with another player who has found a ubikey to unlock bonus content. AFAIK, the bonus content was always kinda shoddy. The additional stages in Rayman were just a few small Ting time trials for example, not full on levels.

Kirby's Dreamland 2.

What the hell is this and how do I get it?

It's a Rainbow Drop. Collect them all to open the final boss. One in each world. Those blocks there can be destroyed with the Needle power.

Got dang, I haven't played that game in forever. Get it out here, NOA.

Ah, OK. Thanks for the clarification.

Presumably there is no way to access this content through the existing IR port, or with a button combo, is there?

I tried the needle power whilst attached to an owl, and it didn't work. Didn't think to ditch the bird. Cheers guy.

$5 for a Game Boy Color game (not named Zelda) is fucking ridiculous. For only $1 extra you can get the real version of Rayman on your PSP.

Meh, this week is a bit of a sleeper, but atleast we got a VC game, so there's a bit of hope in it.

Remember! Today is the last day for this months Club Nintendo digital rewards! Can't wait to see what we'll get tomorrow. Also, E3!

This was my initial experience with the game too but I switched to the secondary camera mode [which just zooms out somewhat, I think] and found all of that far less of a hassle. I found it by pressing start/select to see what would happen but curiously it is not detailed in the game's instruction manual, which is rather perfunctory.

I know what you mean about clinical but that's part of the appeal for me. A bigger dev team/publisher would tack on some contrived story with 'characters' which would be completely unnecessary and kill any enthusiasm I had for the game within milliseconds of me firing it up. Thankfully, they have kept it simple and focused. I even like the lift porn music.

So is Rayman GBC worth playing if you own the GBA and DSiWare versions of Rayman?

Also, I dont see an Order Up demo but I do see a Pyramids demo o_O

I suppose this was kind of expected, but the ticker in the eShop says they'll have "E3 news and downloadable trailers for select upcoming games" on 6/5.

I just spent an hour making orders in the Order Up demo. Why is something so that is mundane so addicting as well?

I'd quit my job in advertising if I got paid the money my dude in Order Up did. A $12 tip for making drinks? I probably stacked close to $600 in tip money in my hour.

Good stuff this week. Looks like NOA is finally pulling itself together when it comes to Downloads.

Good stuff this week.

I'm somewhat unclear on what makes this week a "good" week and so many other weeks with seemingly (to me) the same quality of releases a "bad" week. Almost seems like it's "good" or "bad" based on whoever responds first about the weekly releases. If the first response is "bad week," then some people dogpile, even it just seems "okay." If the first response is "good week," then some people chime in with affirmatives, even it just seems "okay."

Can chalk it up, somewhat, to opinions, but then there doesn't seem to be much disagreement from the first qualitative response for the worth of the week's releases.

A variety of games to choose from (VC, 3DS download, DSiWare, WiiWare, Demo) makes it a good week. Not a lot to choose from and/or games that no one care about make it a bad week. It doesn't have much to do with the games quality imo, unless it's a really really anticipated/popular title.

Okay. Personally, I'd rather them release one game that I really want, then lots that I'm not going to buy. At least you way is a well-defined way of determining a "good" week. :)
