How ingenious... but I'd rather beat it normally.

I would to, but never will. I die on almost the same place in the second level every time. I tried the double paddle trick and found out there was so much left of the level that I lost my faith,

I just realized it's a type of pronouciation play. "530" is supposed to be pronounced "Gomi Zero" (Zero Garbage.)

Space Manbow? Nice. Can someone who has VC-J and downloads it give details on whether it has smooth scrolling as if it were running on at least an MSX2+?

yes! I was so mad that it wasn't included in Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection.

Same here. I was all ready to ditch my old PS2 Genesis collection when I got the new one, and then I saw that they left Shadow Dancer off. Now I have to keep both <grumble, grumble>. That's why I'm hoping for a VC release. There were a few other games that were missing on the new Genny collection as well, but they were mostly trash.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
IntSys has been making a lot of things for Nintendo DD service lately, especially DSiWare. 3 Minute Rocket and Aiming Spot look neat but I wish Nintendo would have them develop ideas like these into full retail games instead.

I'm trying to update my Wii Shop channel but it cancels every time when it reaches about 1/3 :( the error code is 32007, looked it up through Google and... well, I don't know. It used to be working fine before.

Anyone ever take one for the team and check out Thorium Wars for DSiWare?
It was an Oct. release, but I wasn't going to bump that thread.

How's that Indiana Jones SNES game? It looks like it's the Super SW series reskinned, which wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

Supposed to be pretty damn good, and made by Factor 5 back when they weren't worthless, according to earlier posts in this thread.

This might be a bit off topic, but Jake Kaufman, the composer from Shantae, is back working for Wayforward so it's likely he's return to the DSiWare Shantae

I posted impressions of the game in that thread... :/

The game has pretty good 3D graphics for DSiWare (and supposedly runs at 60fps! lol), but the art is bland, the gameplay is not much to speak of, and the difficulty curve is fairly steep and you will find yourself frustrated at the game in a number of missions. It was a ~5 hour single player campaign for me (no MP in this), and there isn't much replayability unless you want to replay missions for better times. Overall, it is a neat game but I think it's pricey for what the game offers. I suppose though it is one of the better 3rd party Premium titles on the service so far, but that isn't saying much.

It is a great, great game. I own the original cart, and bought the VC release.

Super Mario Kart!!! YES!!! :D

When was the last time Nintendo released one of their own games on the VC in the US? Wasn't Super Punchout the last one back in Juneish!?

About damn time!

Edit: Super Smash Bros and Pilotwings are coming out by the end of December FINALLY!!! :D Screw you NOA! you've been sitting on these games all year just so that you could release them as "christmas presents" :lol

I like how that gamespot article is written like people might remember Pilotwings but have probably never heard of Smash Bros.

I bought some Christmas presents in February because I found some really good clearance deals... now I just have to remember where I hid them.

Wait that means, my prediction was correct?

Anyway, I wonder if we'll see a second VC title and a Third WiiWare release this week*, I mean for this month North America has had 3 WiiWare releases and two VC releases (except last week which had 1 WiiWare release excluding demos).

*-assuming Gaijin games and the Natsume Facebook page are reliable we're getting two for sure; Bit.Trip Void and Harvest Moon: Show me your meadow My Little Shop

Wtf at first image when I googled Teyon. NSFW! :lol
God help us, yes. That company needs a new name FAST.

So, Digidrive is awesome. The touch mode is useless and impossible to play well with, but who cares. I'm still getting back in the pattern, and have only gotten to 24000 so far, but I'm gonna crack 100K soon, I know it.

Any impressions on the other new DSiWare games? Robot Rescue looks interesting, especially for 200 points, and I would totally ignore Arcade Bowling except for the David Crane part. I'd pay good money for a port of the Activision 2600 collection for the GBA - hear me, Viviendi? Didn't think so :(

All in all, Nintendo really does seem to be stepping up to the plate with downloadables. Maybe it's just the holidays, though. (So, uh, Pilotwings? Pilotwings 64? Please?)

EDIT: Oh, hey, Pilotwings!! But I want 64, too, Mr. Iwata sir. The crappy Wii Sports Resort flying game just demonstrated how much we all need PW64.

That's great and all, but I still want Cruis'n World N64. Stop looking at me like that!

Also related, the latest Nintendo Power states Shantae: Risky's Revenge is now scheduled for Q1 of 2010 instead of Q4 of 2009. I was actually expecting a delay but still a major bummer. :(

:( I was looking forward to playing Shantae before Christmas too, I was even saving points for it. Guess I'll spend them on something else on DSiware.

Get it. I feel very much like I'm the only person on GAF to have tried it! You just have to move robots to an exit, but when you press a direction every robot moves at once. So moving a robot left to the exit might throw another robot onto a mine and blow it up, so you fail. You have to plan ahead, and be careful to keep all your robots alive. 45 levels and they get really hard. Doors, switches, cloning machines!

Some excellent puzzling and for only 200 points, bargain.

It was my favorite game in Wii Sports Resort.

I was playing it on the demo station at Wal-Mart, and I guy comes up to ask me what game it was. He really liked the airplane flying. "Looks just like the real thing" was his comment. That comment aside, I love the flying part of WSR, too. :D

I actually got a 2000 Nintendo Point card (10 bucks off with an Amazon code) that I'm at the moment planning to save for the game. Might end up spending it on some other DSiWare games that come out. Still the game looks fantastic and if a little extra time is needed for polishing then I'm not gonna complain.

I was actually thinking about making the Official thread for this game if nobody else was planning too...

I liked it OK, really, but you have to admit the wiimote-enhanced acceleration was annoying.

I probably spent more time with it than anything else in WSR...

Okay now IronClad sounds very interesting. I'd buy it off the US VC due to the novelty factor alone.

I'd also buy Crossed Swords 2...hell I'd buy Crossed Swords 1 for that matter. Where the fuck are you SNK? I've given up on seeing NAM-1975 on the VC but c'mon!

Ok, you've convinced me. I'll get it next time I buy points for dsi.

Electroplankton Luminarrow
Publisher: Nintendo
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: Luminarrow plankton are famous for their habit of perfectly following arrow-shaped formations. The plankton spin as they move, changing directions as soon as they come in contact with an arrow that’s pointing in another direction. The pitch of the sound they make will change depending on where the arrows are positioned. There are four types of Luminarrow: red, yellow, green and blue. Each type floats at a different speed and makes a distinctive musical tone. The four types of Luminarrow drift together to create beautiful melodies. Completely alter the direction of the arrows to change their sound dramatically.

Electroplankton Sun-Animalcule
Publisher: Nintendo
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: Sun-Animalcule plankton get their name from their tendency to emit light in a sphere around them. The plankton begin as eggs and gradually grow, emitting light and fascinating sounds throughout their entire life cycle. The sounds they make will change as they grow from infancy to maturity, growing very quickly until they disappear completely. Sun-Animalcule plankton only emerge in the morning, noon and evening. They lose strength as the night wears on; that’s when the crescent-shaped Falcato plankton take their place. The pitch of the plankton changes depending on where they grow.

Electroplankton Lumiloop
Publisher: Nintendo
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: Lumiloop plankton are curious, donut-shaped aquatic creatures. While stationary, they have the ability to spin at a very high rate of speed. As they spin, the Lumiloop emit unique sounds and a fascinating ring-shaped glow. Lumiloop plankton seem to always grow in clusters of five. They produce sounds at different pitches as they spin together, creating a beautiful harmony. This is called a pentatonic scale. Depending on where they live, Lumiloop plankton that produce several different sounds have been identified.

Electroplankton Marine-Crystals
Publisher: Nintendo
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: Resembling delicate snow crystals, Marine-Crystal plankton float elegantly on the surface of the water. The plankton get their name from their distinctive snowflake shape. They grow in clusters of 35 and line up in very orderly formations. When stimulated, Marine-Crystal plankton spin and produce vibrant sounds. While the plankton do grow in size if they are repeatedly tapped, they gradually return to their original size over time. They are born in four polygonal shapes: triangle, square, pentagon and hexagon. The ends of the crystalline protrusions also take on the same shapes. The tone of the sound they make will change depending on the shape of the Marine-Crystal plankton’s body.

Electroplankton Varvoice
Publisher: Nintendo
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: Varvoice plankton memorize the sound of human speech and repeat it over and over. They accomplish this amazing feat by oscillating the long flagellum that extends from their heads. By resonating the vibration with their water-droplet-shaped body, the plankton produce sounds that closely resemble the human voice. The body can expand and contract at will. By changing shape, they can easily manipulate the sound of the voice. Words that the Varvoice memorize and play back in reverse have a particularly strange ring to them. Researchers refer to this phenomenon as Varvoice inversion.
